Has anyone received an update on the Metallic/Robotic/Tinny sound from the Beam 2 (and other sound bars) under vocals? I see this issue has been widely reported for years - initially blamed on HDMI signals from certain TV brands - but users have experienced it across many models, including Samsung, LG, and Sony. Suggested “fixes” include buying surrounds to mask the problem, turning the treble way down, or using an optical cable instead of HDMI (which defeats the purpose of Atmos), but none of these actually resolve it. Despite acknowledging the problem in community threads for years, Sonos continues to tell people to contact support and send sound samples/diagnostics for analysis. If they already recognize the issue, why keep pushing for more samples for years? I wish I’d found these threads before buying.
Hi
Welcome to the Community!
I am sorry to hear that you are affected by this audio issue.
While it does not help you to hear it, compared to the number of units in the field, the number of cases of this issue is very low. We are still investigating the issue, and still gathering data as it is not yet clear why some units have this issue, but we do believe it can be resolved.
I do understand if you are far from satisfied with this report, and I can only recommend that you get back in touch, quoting your existing case number, and ask to speak to a manager - I cannot promise a result, as that would be up the manager to decide and not me, but I think that might be your best course of action at this stage if you want a different result.
I hope this helps.
