I wish that the LED light on the Beam Gen 2 also had the option on the Sonos G2 app that:> only show status light when audio is connected> right now, the led light always is white and ON. I like it when is lit up, but only when audio is actually active. I know I can turn it off, but then again, I completely turn it off which I don’t want. Because I like it to see what’s going on…
FEATURE REQUESTSONOS, similar to the Connect and Port, please add the ability for the Amp to allow a fixed volume (and the ability to set the level of that fixed volume).Considering the Amp can handle 1-3 pairs of speakers, each pair of speakers may have independent wall volume controls. Some users don’t understand that in this scenario this would be a dual-volume setup and, inadvertently, may turn one of them down and therefore have no sound or not the volume they are desiring.Wall volume controllers make sense for those that don’t always have their phone/device in-hand and want to simply adjust the volume in a room. They also make a lot of sense in commercial environments where you don’t want to give everyone access to Sonos, but are good with giving them access to controlling the volume level. So, wall volume controllers aren’t going away any time soon.EVERYONE who sees this, please Like and Comment on this so SONOS sees the interest! Mahalo Nui Loa! 🤙🏽
Discovered a misleading prompt. I was helping my dad by long-distance call to install a new speaker, but the install process always failed with a prompt that some other app on the install device was using Apple Airplay, and that we’d have to turn that off to continue. But no other app was using Airplay. Ever. Even restarted the phone. Maddening.Turns out, because I was on the phone talking to him on the iphone’s speaker during the install, guiding the installation, that the phone call itself was the culprit. That us using the iphone’s speaker during the set up was somehow blocking the setup process from hearing the coded sonos chime. After telling dad to do the setup process by himself, after hanging up the phone call, only then was there success.I suggest a prompt edit to add that in addition to some other app “using airplay” the prompt should also say “or the phone’s speaker and voice input is being used by an active phone call.” Would have saved us from pulling out all our hai
I got a discount code from Sonos and tried to apply it when buying the Sanus Floor stands but it would not give me the discount...Am I doing something wrong or does discount only apply to the electronic purchases?
Dear Sonos Team,Got me a Arc with Sub and all.Though what I’m still missing is a full EQ to set the sound to my liking. At least one should be able to modify High/Mid and low rather than just high and low.I believe this would help to tune the sound to anyone's liking. Of course it should keep True play while you set this.Sometimes it just feels that mids are a bit missing and I’d love to just boost them.
My 6 moth old move and 1.5 year old roam have died within 2 weeks of each other. No lights, will not power up, went through all the procedures, swapped multiple cables and chargers and nothing. The move did report depleted battery in the app during its last day before the battery completely went out.I probably only used the move a half dozen times and it sat on it’s base charger 99% of the time. I just can’t see investing again into the battery powered products Sonos puts out. Premium prices for non durable products. I have a 6 year old oontz angle that i got for under 20 bucks and it still works fine.Don’t get me wrong, I love my 2 Sonos amps and they have been rock solid and probably one of the best investments I have made. I still smile every time I put them on.I just am frustrated and disappointed with the lack of quality of the move and roam. Now I have to deal with the warranty return, not a biggie but just another hour I would rater spend doing something else. When it comes
We have a large dining kitchen with a pair of ones in the working area as a stereo pair. All is OK with music but we often listen to voice, pod casts and radio. It is almost impossible to listen to spoken material over kettle boiling or extractor fan without raising volume to uncomfortable levels.I have tried adjusting bass / treble and speaker positioning, but to no great effect, in the eating area we have a beam which is much better when playing the same material. When my son was visiting at Christmas he said he had the same problem. The problem is such that I am considering a change of system in this location. In an experiment we tried a large vintage Bush transistor radio with FM ( over 60 years old ) which had no problem producing sufficient volume and clarity, as well as a surprisingly good music reproduction, it is a large radio with a large speaker and simple but effective tone control.I have a range of sonos speakers throughout my house including an Arc which I like very much.
I removed a sub last night in the settings as I know longer need it. I now get this notice in the app. Anyway of removing the notice?
It's unfortunate that a company I’ve invested so much in falls apart at the seams. Sonos was once a great company, but recently it's been a mess. I ordered several things online over a month ago, in plenty of time before Christmas; every day since then, the online prompt told me it was picked up and delivered the next day. But each day, it never came and was never picked up. Believing the service member that assured me it was coming the next day. It never did, and this went on for over a month. Until I finally, out of frustration, canceled the order. WHAT IS WRONG WITH SONOS? Poor management and processes? Possibly supply chain issues and fulfillment? They have a great product. I have many, 12 in total. But this situation was the worst next to a few years ago when they made some of the products "end of life" and discontinued their support on the App or even the ability to have them work with new systems without an upgrade path… that was a disaster and cost me several thousand
Before I owned a Sonos One, I used a simple Google Home, and every night I’d set up a media alarm so I’d wake up with music, and I had set up my Google Assistant routines so every time I’d turn off an alarm, a routine that put on weather, traffic, and news info would play. Now that I own a Sonos One, media alarms are disabled and instead I have to set them up in the app. I still get to wake up with music, but the alarm isn’t recognized by Google Home and the routine doesn’t play, and there seems to be no way to tell the Sonos app to do something similar when the alarm is turned off. Can this feature be added for the Sonos products? Run a Google Home routine every time I turn off an alarm or have Google Home recognize Sonos alarms as alarms?
Hello everyone! I would like to request a feature similar to the existing one for the surroundspeakers but for the sub.Can we get a seperate volume slider for music and movies please? Thanks in advance!
Only recently I've moved over from the S1 app to the S2 app and seeing the differences for the worse. I use a BT Hub and a good while, there were long running problems with Sonos S1, but these were eventually sorted. Have now switched to S2 app and am seeing old and other new problems in S2 app. For example, a new problem..... When selecting a playlist in S2, the immediate editing of the playlist order is not available. This was never the case in the S1 app. You were able to see the tracks straight after the playlist was selected. Also it's doing that nonsense again where you go to use the app but not speakers appear. Have to stop and start the app which sometimes works.
Hello to all,I was wondering about a simple but important question: wouldn't Sonos take us for donkeys?Let me explain:- I had a Beam gen 1 and was quite annoyed not to be able to read the Dolby Digital + format present on many movies/series and even Netflix. For that, Sonos says you need a Beam Gen2 with E-ARC. So I bought this gen 2, and it works.Problem -> In 2013, I had an Onkyo HT + Focal SIB, and this amp decoded all formats with a simple HDMI ARC plug.I don't understand why you absolutely need a Beam 2 to decode DD+ for example.Another point: I connected the beam 2 to a Fury Arcana HD box to benefit from an E-ARC output and avoid any lip sync problem. However, when I connect the Beam 2 directly to my TV in classic HDMI ARC, it decodes very well the DD+ or even Atmos format! I don't need to connect it in E-ARC to read these formats. The ARC standard being backwards compatible, the signal transmission is done in ARC standard since my TV is flanged that way.So we can conclude that
"Hello, I have two of the sonos one speakers from Costco that are paired with the sonos arc soundbar that I also purchased at Costco. I also purchased a Sonos amp from Best Buy that I am using with two sonance ceiling speakers. All the speakers work together well when I am listening to music through my phone. But I can’t get them all to work together when I am watching TV or a movie. I have the soundbar connected of the hdmi arc output off the back of the TV so the soundbar and the two Sonos one speakers are working fine but how do I get the Sonos amp to work with them while watching tv or movies?"
Hinew to Sonos family and noticed that there are no Bollywood/Punjabi radio channels in the world category. As there is a large community listed to this genre. Could you please introduce the radio channels thanks
Got a new iOS phone. It does not recognize or find family network.
I'm quite disappointed to find that one of my speakers (now 7 years old) keeps reporting error code 4. Support has told me that it has reached the end of it's life. The speaker hasn't moved so I do not understand how this can be. When we buy cars and many other items we expect them to last longer. Being offered a 30% discount if I return the speaker to me feels like planned obsolescence. There should be an option to fix whatever memory issues exist. Anyone else figured out an alternative to resolve this annoying problem?
First time posting just wishing the community a merry Christmas and a happy prosperous 2023 I've received the best Christmas gift ever from Santa sonos I've set it all up and just WOW I'm totally blow away my ears are in utter joy thanks sonos
Vorrei acquistare una conoscenza arc, ma posso collocare solo all'interno di un mobile con un pò di spazio laterale e superiore di circa 10 cm. Funzionerebbe?
Just finished the 14.20.1 update and all is good . Shows in my system 14.20.1. However, banner comes up at top saying another update is needed.. would this be the app?
I adore Sonos - the look, the sound… I even purchased shares in the company because I believe in them so much. I’ve had my Sonos One speakers for about 7 years and I’ve been envious of my friend’s Sonos system for a while. So I finally saved enough money to buy several Sonos products this year for my entire home. Before I made the big purchase, though, I decided to order a Sonos Roam. Although it said shipping would happen within 1 or 2 days, it didn’t. I emailed Sonos support and never heard back. I can track the speaker to my neighborhood and apparently they attempted delivery but I was home all day and heard nothing. This seems crazy for such an expensive item! I can’t locate it and I can’t get in touch with anyone. And now I’m leaving the country for the holidays until mid-January. There is absolutely NO WAY I am going to spend thousands of dollars on my full system if it’s just going to get lost. Sonos needs to improve the quality of the entire experience if they want their compan
I finally put my finger on why my Arc/Sub combo sounds worse than it should, and now I've found multiple posts mentioning how pairing a sub with an arc neuters the sound. I completely agree. The crossover point is set too high and too steep. Once paired, the arc sounds like it has no low end at all and the sub is distracting because it is handling too much. Not all rooms are the same, I'm not moving the sub, arc's are used for music not just tv/movies, we don't all have iphones, and I doubt trueplay would do better than my own ear. We need more tunable crossover settings, including disable.I figured that out when I set up an Amp today and was dismayed to discover that using the sub out connection forces a (albiet somewhat adjustable) crossover on the main outputs. Disabling the Amp crossover should also be an option. Fortunately my sub has speaker level inputs so I don't have to use the sub out connection, otherwise I wouldn't be using the Amp now. Once I realized the Amp forces a cros
Was excited to get the Sonos Beam 2 in the mail, hooked it up to my TV…...then…..Sonos happened.Forced to install a phone app, forced to give Sonos every permission available (location, full name, email, network access, microphone access, phone access, history access?). It’s just a speaker! WTF?!Forced to use Sonos app to use a speaker I just payed $500 for? Can’t play any audio from my phone to the speaker, no music, no radio, no podcast, no other devices. All must pass through the one and only Sonos app on the one phone entity with no other connection options permitted. Can’t connect directly through the Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, ever, zero, ditto, natta. Jokes? This system is very similar to Apple products, that plenty of people own and love, that I refuse to use. If you use it, it’s the only thing you can use, and will likely ever use, no other options, they own you and tell you what you can and cannot use or do.I own my devices, they don’t own me. Dodging this companies trap!
I moved into a house that has speakers in all the rooms that are controlled by a Control4 system. I dislike the idea of having to call for Control4 support every time I want to do anything (e.g., play music from my PC hard drive, etc.). Has anyone replaced a Control4 system with Sonos? What issues did you encounter and was it worth the effort and the money? Thanks
