It’s my observation that more and more people are discovering the great sound, that a pair of Fives combined with the sealed Sub Mini makes.

It completes the Fives, and make them open up more, while the bass is tighter and stronger.

However I recently moved the speakers and Sub Mini to a larger room, and now I need a little more bass, but unlike the soundbar, which alows me to add two subs (though only the larger sub for whatever strange reason), I can’t add a second Sub Mini.

It should just be a simple update, and you’ll sell a whole lot more subs.

So can we expect this dual subs setup for our stereo Fives in the near future?

Thanks.

Hello @Maestro995 , thank you for the post and the kind words!

At this moment dual Sub is only available in Home Theatre setups.

I’ve marked this thread as a feature request and forwarded to the relevant teams for consideration.

Thank you.

It would really be a great feature. The Sub mini is perfect for Sonos stereo setup, since it is sealed and have a more punchy bass, and two Sub minis with a Sonos Five stereo setup, would be sublime.

Regards.

A couple points that should be mentioned with this.

  • The Sub has over twice the volume output of the sub mini...adding 2 sub minis would not be better than a single sub.  However, the consideration would be a ported or sealed design as well as what speaker you already have.
  • When setting up dual subs, one of them needs to be a sub gen 3.  That implies there must be something in the hardware that is required to make dual subs work.  Although Mini was released after the Sub Gen 3, there’s no guarantee that the Mini has the required hardware.

I already had a Sub gen 3 and tried to pair it with the Fives. Tested it endlessly against the Fives with the Sub Mini. And when it comes to music, the Sub mini being sealed was clearly the best performer.
