I was told, today, that the speaker stands for the new 300’s won’t be available till June. Wow…

Told by whom??? However, on the other hand dates can be pushed back due to supply chain constraints. Happens more often than you might think.

Told by the invoice I received when ordering 2 300s and two stands. I followed up with a call to Sonos sales to verify the back order. She said both black and white versions expected this June.

Follow up: after talking with 5 different Sonos people, it appears that there are no white stands till June. Also, apparently they sold out of the bundled black stands but have individual black stands. The difference appears to be just the SKU number. This appears less like supply issues and more like the need for a leadership and training tweak or two. I am now told my new 300s and stands will ship on time. Fingers crossed.

Thanks Belle

Training could be an issue. LOL. However, on new product releases the demand can be higher than expected which can lead to quick inventory depletion. I was delayed on the Apple release of an iPad. Demand exceeded supply.

Every company likes to operate on a JIT (just in time inventory) schedule to avoid overspending in a quarter and allow for future forecasts. Smaller companies like Sonos sometimes have a few hiccups with JIT inventory.

This is the first release of an entirely re-designed product the Era 100 and a completely new product the Era 300 for  Sonos both with new technologies since the Arc.

Again, this is not a supply issue. This is not a JIT issue. This is a training/leadership issue around inventory and SKUs. The product was there.

PS:I understand this whole process better than most, having spent my earlier professional life as manager of the northwest division of a major computer distributor.
