How do I get my Old App Back? Where is my album art, I shouldn’t have to fix your apps issuesDoes any one test run these updates before releasing them.I agree with other contributors please give us the old app back NOW!
As the title states. My family needs to control the alarm function for their respective speakers. Why does this now require the app to have full system control? Please change this back to prior function level. I do not want anyone connected to the system to have access to that level of control, aside from myself.
I have seen the firestorm break out in 2020 over S2 and a bigger one now over the May 24 App.My view, for someone to take forward inside Sonos in any way that makes sense. If it makes sense.Sonos hardware is neutral to what it plays. It will serve just as well for Apple Music as it will for Spotify. Or for radio stations. Or even, let us remember, for local libraries on a NAS. Obviously this is the sensible thing to do, as compared to offering hardware that only plays music via Sonos; letting users choose from providers that do music services best, is the approach that has worked very well till now.Why can the same thinking not guide how the app works? I will take a simple use case to elaborate, of someone using Sonos hardware for playing music from Spotify and from a local NAS. Also for simplicity, let us keep aside the SMB stuff where local NAS is concerned. In the above use case, the Sonos control app needs to do just two things - first, to set up and configure Sonos hardware and the
The new app is absolute garbage and I don’t know what’s going on. I had no problems with the prior version and all My speakers (I have about 12) all worked seamlessly. Ever since I downloaded the new app I have had problems. Can I get the old app back?
SonosI’m sick of your products, constant dropping of internet connects and speakers are frustrating enough but then you add an app that is completely untested and sucks! Now I can’t connect half my system, nor can I connect to same sounds. For a technology company your products are awful. I did t have half the problems I have with my Bose system. Everyday I have to fix something, please get your act together and fix these tech issues!
I wish at least for a public apology and consequences for those who decided to roll out this app in this way.The decision to spend money on a Sonos system is based on trust in the system provider.Sonos has bitterly disappointed and permanently destroyed this trust with this update. If Sonos does not take swift action to restore this trust, it could cause existential problems for Sonos.
So, you're dumping your Sonos devices... What alternatives are there? (OR. Install LMS - LYRION MUSIC SERVER - and keep your existing speakers as LMS endpoint players)
I have a case of Boosts I bought in September from Sonos, as well as inventory including Play1, Play5, Ports, and Amps.Sonos app 80.xx just turned my Boosts into bricks, as well as dissabling most of my customers’ systems.I expect it’s illegal to abandon Boosts so soon after actively selling them. I also expect a very expensive class action law suit will follow. Unfortunately, I can no longer recomend Sonos to my customers, because I can no longer trust Sonos. You’ve embarrased me for the last time.Prove me wrong, Sonos. Roll back the update!
Just received an email regarding a new Sonos product that’ll be announced this week. After the latest SW debacle I’m shocked Sonos would try to release a new product..As a Sonos user for more that 10 years I can honestly say there’s no way I’d consider another Sonos product until the SW issues are fixed!!Your thoughts..
The new app is garbage. We all know that. So does Sonos’ management. Have they rolled it back to the previous version? No. Instead they tell us it took “courage” to do this. I think it took stupidity. There is nothing redeeming about a company that screws its customers the way that Sonos has with this new app. After a decade and half of Sonos products, I will never buy another Sonos product nor recommend them to anyone, as long as the current management is employed.
Edit:I urge you to reconsider the recent update to the Sonos app and evaluate the possibility of reverting to the previous version. The new version has failed to meet user expectations and appears to have been developed without adequate consideration for cus
When will Sonos leadership address users, investors and media concerns about the new 80 app? How long does the world have to wait to hear what happened and what you all plan to do and when?
No way will I buy this new Sonos product, probably the headphones. Sonos cant get it together these days. Lost faith in them and at this point, wouldn’t recommend Sonos to anyone.
If you are having success with the new app please don’t comment on topics and others frustration about the app. Us that’s having problems like products not working not connecting won’t update etc. due to the app. Even if we have the latest version fastest internet/wifi it doesn’t matter it’s the app. I’m happy for those the app didn’t affect. But for us who have useless products right now you’re not helping the issue by saying the app is great good luck. Please stop.
When will you replace this beta application full of bugs you have send out? it is slow, no logic at all in the interface, looks like something made by a preschool kid.it can’t be on purpose you have released it? /Lars
Nothing works on the „new“ App. Interruptions, Delay, you have created the worst case ever. what kind of substances are you consuming so that this is the result? PLEASE get the old App back!
Sonos with some justification has promoted itself as a premium brand but now needs some new laurels to polish. Originally a terrific combination of sound, style and simplicity worth paying for when the cost of competitors' products offered significant savings, I am now reminded of 'bloatware' conversations of some years back with every update. Sonos, get a grip; the latest update is underwhelming, pushy, and in the case of my music library, spectacularly useless. As an older (68) user who still enjoys quality sound and design but has little interest in anything other than playing what I want to, when I want to, I'm asking sonos to consider (many?) owners and users like me who would appreciate a 'sonos light' (lite?) interface, or the facility to make it so. Take the time needed, keep us informed without puffery, but crucially, get it right. I used to recommend sonos without hesitation, even enthusiastically. Not now.
Elendig navigering etter oppdatering i mai. Faller ut, stopper opp, må resette ev resette slette app sette opp på nytt Moderator Edit: Google Translate- Lousy navigation after update in May. Drops out, stops, must reset possibly reset delete app set up again
This new Sonos app is complete garbage, is there a way to revert? For the record I love Sonos and use it in many different places but this is the end of the line if I can’t back to the old app. It’s so bad.
Just got a port and began the setup process. I created a profile and verified my email. After the initial setup and before I’ve been able to do ANYTHING, there is a forced update. This kicks me to the site to log in and I get the error that I need to log off and let the “system owner” log in to do the update. I’m dead in the water. needless to say, this expensive brick is getting returned. I’m glad that it only took one component to learn that the Sonos ecosystem is complete garbage. Judging by the recent posts, mine is FAR from an isolated experience.
I’m one of those smug, self-satisfied people who has auto-update turned off, and who expected to be able to stay with the old app until this mess has been sorted out. But no - even with auto-update set to “off” my app has been updated and now my TuneIn stations won’t work and my Network Shares won’t work. Just the helpful error message “Something went wrong”.However… the open source client NOSON still appears to work perfectly. I can still play tracks from my Network Attached Server, can set alarms, can play all of my TuneIn based radio stations - can even play music from the PC’s local disks.Of course it’s only a solution if you already run one of the common versions of Linux (you can install a current version of NOSON for free straight out of the standard repositories), or with Windows/Mac, if you’re willing to run it under something like VMWare - not technically difficult but a bit of a pain to have to do.But it did make me wonder - if a one-man development team can do such a great
My Sonos system has 2x Play:5 (gen 2), 4x One and 4x One SL. Everything worked fine until the recent app update. Now it just won’t play any music. No matter which service it is (Spotify, SoundCloud, whatever) it just won’t play. I select the music, it just won’t load and play. I’ve already disconnect and reconnected all the services, didn’t help at all. Any suggestions? Thx!
How Do I Remove Sonos Radio as a Music Source?I don’t want it. I can remove every other source. Remove this one too.
If I had a vote I would have not changed the interface on iOS, just improved items. I’m happy about the speaker individual adjustment but that is where it stops. I have 11 Sonos devices and am not happy w an auto update that blew out my connectivity. below are several items but an initial problem right now discovered this morning since everything is now up and running… I turned on the app with my iPhone, but my iPhone is not turning off the Sonos. I have to tell Sonos to turn off through my play one. There is some kind of glitch… The rest of the stuff below is what I’ve discovered since yesterday afternoon… Have a good readLove my products! don’t like this change! Image 1 - what happened to play/pause on display?!? Have to go a level deeper to pause or shout Sonos off!Image 2 no volume # in this page for group speakers… so you can’t learn what # is what level Image 3 you have a selection to play everywhere but why not an unselect all??? also… why is the font and images so big?!? You ne
Sonos used to be a family of great products that were consistent and worked. Whomever they hired to make the decisions and set the strategic direction over the last couple of years has failed spectacularly! The complete ridiculousness of the S1 and Sonos app is something that any company that cares about the perception of their aptitude would have avoided at all costs, and the newest app update appears to have been designed by the three blind mice! Add to that over the last couple years their devices just randomly disappear from the app and lose connectivity. Their answer from them is “it must be the wifi network”, and factory reset or move the device. I have been a network architect for 20 years and have never seen a better example of a company that is literally drowning under the weight of their own lack of understanding and ability. Perhaps instead of redesigning apps in the worst manner possible, spend time and money fixing the existing issues and returning the products and experie
