So I recently (silly me) upgraded to the latest firmware -Version 16.6 (build 83.1-61240)Hardware Version 1.27.1.11-2.2 Ever since my arc would randomly reboot. It’s connected to a QN85B Samsung TV via eARC. When the problem occurs audio stops and the arc LED flashes white (booting) and then the TV switches back to eARC. I discussed with Sonos support after sending diagnostics (diags aren’t very helpful, because they are only since last boot, so doesn’t catch the problem). They advised that it was because I’m running a piHole and blocking msmetrics.ws.sonos.com I have selected in the Sonos app not to allow Usage Data Sharing, which is what this URL is for. But I guess it doesn’t care and keeps doing it, right? Hoorah for privacy… I find it disturbing that even though I’ve opted out of usage data sharing, they still send it and if they can’t they will reboot themselves randomly. Posting this here to save others time as I couldn’t find any hits on this issue. Hopefully someone from Sonos
If the app has been open for several hours whether music is playing or not, it won’t respond or takes forever respond if I try to add a room to the active group or change the music. Sometimes the music just stops and shows only one room that is in the group. It is always the same room whether or not that room was part of the group. I hope this is making sense. Thank for any help or advice you have.
Two points, and I’m not the first one to discuss either, but I want to be sure that the issues stay flagged: A-Z scrolling in Local Music Library. The app is almost unusable for moderate to large libraries without it. Ability to see “Contributing Artists”. The Windows App still does it. For Compilation Albums, we currently have to choose between having every song in the album show up as its own album, or combine them by tagging ALBUMARTIST as “Various Artists”, but then lose the ability to see the actual artist of each song. All competitors, including older versions of yourself, have this working properly. The Trello board has gone stale, and release notes recently have been non-specific. What is your plan these days?
Play:5 gen1. Only the subwoofer works. I need schematics or tips to solve this issue. Thanks
Ok so I have a Sonos Play 5 2 x Play 3, a Sonos 1 with Alexa and a boost and connect. I want to add a soundbar and a sub. I spent ages researching and bought a beam (Gen 2) and a sub mini. Plugged them in and neither compatible. I’m guessing it’s only a beam one or an Arc original. No idea on the sub mini. Didn’t really want to start again as everything still works. Mind you if the Arc ultra is as good as it sounds it might be worth it as I’m moving to a smaller house and losing my Marantz Receiver two Kef front speakers and a couple of missions on the surround.
Hola.
I just picked up a stereo pair of 5s and will be connecting a CD player via line in. Any plans for Sonos to bring back the option to turn off compression for these inputs? playing CDs as a converted 256AAC stream seems pointless - also if these CDs are ripped to FLAC and streamed that way, are those files compressed as well ?
I have a set up including an ARC front and center with a SUB(gen 4) and two 300 series surround speakers in my great room. I am having trouble hearing any of the dialogue with movies sports etc, the voices are faint and when I turn it up the bass and surrounding music is so loud it is unbearable for others in the rest of the house. I have done all of the room set up programming including TRU sound and also changed the sound height levels doesn't seem to help. any ideas?
My Sonos amp has no power light, reset is not working. I have tried alternative power cords
Will a pair of ERA 100 play stereo out of a sonos port hard wired into a non sonos turntable. Nothing else is on the Port line. I have the port connected to S2 App.
I have new WiFi network since originally setting up Sonos 1 and Sonos Beam. How do I get all my speakers on new network?

In our living room we have a couch facing a wall, where a Samsung Frame TV is mounted on. To the left of the couch, we have a sideboard which houses the electronics for the frame tv. Is it possible to put the Arc ultra on this sideboard? Essentially when watching TV, the sound bar would be firing from the left side, rather than in front of whoever is watching TV. Would the sound feel off balance?
Hey all, I’ve got two Era 300s and sub mini that I’d like to put in a 200sqft 12x15 home gym.Thinking either wall mount on back wall (yellow x’s) using the Sonos wall mounts with sub mini in middle on floor (yellow dot). 12” from ceiling and upside down with sound above ear level and angled in a V toward middle of room. wall mount on side walls at same height (green dots) upside down and angle so wider V toward middle of room, with sub in same place.wall mount on front wall higher (above doors (orange dots) 3-4” from ceiling upside down but no place for sub. The weight rack might block sound if the speakers are angled toward center.Use case is just music while working out. I already have the Era 300s and the mounts. Thanks!
At this point my hands are in the air with Sonos. I’ve had more problems than I can count in the last 18 months or so. Now my arc randomly doesn’t work when I turn on my tv. I’ll go to bed everything was working fine. Turn on tv in the morning no sound. Tv says arc is connected all settings are good. Updates are good. I’m at a loss with Sonos. It has just gone so down hill I’ve had connectivity issues on every speaker in my house (a lot of them). Something is always wrong with this system these days. It has been ruined by I don’t know what. Software updates? Over engineering? Whom knows. This system used to be the cream at the top. Started using it in 2000 and I swear it worked better then. Argh. No more Sonos buying for me. There are too many other good options out there these days.
Hello everyone,Here’s detailsSonos always been on 2.4ghz private wifi, we have three routers, one for pos system(toast), one for customers, and one for management(2.4ghz/internal5ghz), Sonos has always been connected to the management WiFi. Today for some reason, it has trouble connecting to the management, so I forgot system and did it on the 5g customer wifi, was on the phone with Sonos while this happened, 3-4 speakers connected but two of them were on management wifi and the other 2 were on customer 5g, weird. I had connected to customer 5g on mobile and set them up on that wifi but my system wouldn’t show up unless I was on management wifi. Reset everything and tried again. This time I deleted the management wifi and made a wifi called Sonos just for Sonos. After that, I never got another speaker connected. I would go through all the steps, get to the part where it wants me to type in the wifi password, then it wouldn’t never connect and ask me to try again until it prompted for u
I have a Beam2 paired with 2 Era 100s. This system does not reproduce the highs I enjoyed with much older Hifi systems. Background chimes, tambourine jangles, or orchestral bell sounds are missing from the Sonos speakers. Interestingly, my car sound system reproduces the same high frequency sound layers quite clearly on same tracks. Ive played with the treble slide controls without success. My guess is that Sonos just doesn’t include tweeters capable of reproducing these higher frequency sounds. Very disappointing. Anyone else experiencing same issue?
Hey Sonos,Could you clarify the situation with Last.fm integration? Initially, it disappeared from the mobile app but was still accessible on the desktop version and functioning in the background. However, it now seems to be entirely unavailable.Could you please confirm if there are plans to restore this feature soon? Thank you.
I usually use my Roam to play in the kitchen while the Beam and Era 100 x2 play in the loungeroom. The beam is connected to a Panasonic TV via the Viera HDMI connection. The TV is connected to my Optus router via WiFi which is in the dining room off the kitchen. It is common for the Roam to suffer interference when playing music, but not when playing conversations on You Tube for instance.Since the Roam is in the same room as the Router (sitting atop a sideboard about 2m above floor level) I am puzzled as to the cause of the interference. I am assuming that the Roam is connecting directly to the router, but is that correct? Does it connect to the Beam? The Beam and Roam are not on a direct line of sight, There is a laundry between them. The lounge, dining room and kitchen wrap arounfg the laundry in a horsehoe shape.
Hi,I've just released a very simple, free, one page iOS app to control audio settings for speakers, it's called Zonus. The focus is on reliability and easy access.More features coming soon.Available on Apple App Store Welcoming feedbackEnjoy =)Moderator Note: Modified in accordance with the Community Code of Conduct.
Please oh please can there just be some way to clear all music so each speaker doesn't show something different when you never intend such a thing. Is Sonos ever going to add this much desired feature? It is so very frustrating… to go from maybe a few days ago listening to one speaker, and a few days later it's still showing that. You can't unclick all, which would be a simple solution. Help?
I have an xgimi horizon ultra projector and it has a eARC HDMI port and a normal HDMI port. I have connected a eARC HDMI cable to Sonos arc and the other hdmi to apple TV. Both the HDMI cables are 25 FT cables and they work fine. I have a PS5 and want to connect that to the projector via a HDMI switch. I bought a Roofull hdmi switch, but that didn’t work because it only supported HDMI cables that are within 10 FT.My question is, are there any switches that work with 25 ft hdmi cables? Here’s the link to the switch i bought earlierhttps://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CF53DMX8?ref_=cm_sw_r_mwn_dp_7DHTWZPTMH509A7R5FW0&th=1
Question for those that have switched to running ceiling speakers or are familiar with these options - I currently have a Sonos Arc, Sonos Sub, and two Sonos Ones as surround sound speakers. Due to my layout, the rear right Sonos One is positioned about 10 feet behind the right side of the couch, and the rear left Sonos One is positioned about 5 feet behind and 4 feet more left than the left side of the couch. If I get a Sonos Amp and a pair of high quality 3-way ceiling speakers directly above the couch, will I get an improved home theater sound than my current setup?
