Question for those that have switched to running ceiling speakers or are familiar with these options - I currently have a Sonos Arc, Sonos Sub, and two Sonos Ones as surround sound speakers. Due to my layout, the rear right Sonos One is positioned about 10 feet behind the right side of the couch, and the rear left Sonos One is positioned about 5 feet behind and 4 feet more left than the left side of the couch. If I get a Sonos Amp and a pair of high quality 3-way ceiling speakers directly above the couch, will I get an improved home theater sound than my current setup?

If you are mostly using your setup for movie watching, I believe your Sonos Arc, Sonos Sub and Sonos One’s as surrounds is better than replacing the Surrounds with a Sonos Amp and in-ceiling speakers.
Even if usage is split between movie watching and music listening, I’d still say that your current setup is optimal and replacing the surrounds is not worth the cost.
Do you believe that, due to your room layout, the surround speakers placement is not doing your Home Theater setup justice?
If you have an iOS device compatible you can Tune your Sonos System with Trueplay which can improve the sound experience of your system.

I have a similar, though not exact, situation… I’m planning on buying a sub gen4 and pair of 300’s and was looking at wall mounting them. Unfortunately due to room config they will be about 13 feet behind and maybe 8 feet high (4/4.5 ft above listening position). They would be evenly spread to either side of listening position… but I was wondering if in ceilings and an amp would be better for me? The ceiling is about 15 feet. Any input would be most welcome.
