I just picked up a stereo pair of 5s and will be connecting a CD player via line in.   Any plans for Sonos to bring back the option to turn off compression for these inputs?

playing CDs as a converted 256AAC stream seems pointless - also if these CDs are ripped to FLAC and streamed that way, are those files compressed as well ?

My app presents a choice between “Automatic” and “Compressed”. Not sure if a choice for “Automatic” means there is always compression.

From the Sonos website:

“Automatic is the default setting for all Line-In products and is recommended by Sonos. This setting will play uncompressed (WAV) audio by default, but will switch to compressed (SBC) audio if needed depending on the performance of your local network.”

Rather than bringing back the Uncompressed setting, I think Sonos should put some kind of label on the Now Playing screen to let users know if the line-in audio is being compressed.
