Troubleshoot, tune and get the most out of your system

Purchased a “NIB” Play:3 via Ebay and attempted to connect to my existing system of five (working) Play:1s. Out of the box, the Play:3’s LED flashes white and the mute button flashes green. My mobile device is a Pixel 4XL running an up to date S2 controller app. The app will find the Play:3 and can identify the unit’s serial number, but pressing/holding the mute button does not connect the Play:3 to the existing system. I went through the normal troubleshooting steps (cabled to the router, device w/in 3’ of speaker and router), and never got a green LED.Per the Sonos guides, I performed a reboot, and a factory reset. While holding the mute button during the reset, the LED flashed white 5x, a longer 6th flash, another 4x white flashes, orange 16x, then back to white flashes.Started a chat session with Sonos support, went through the same troubleshooting steps with the agent (reboot, factory reset 3x with the same LED behavior as above), and their determination is a hardware failure. The
I’ve had my house system for 3 years with no issues. Now, for whatever reason, I’m finding always the same three rooms at the same time will drop sound then come back on. This happens when watching a YouTube video . My internet hasn’t changed, have good speed. Attached is a drawing ( rough sketch ) of where all the speakers are located including router , modem , and Boost. Rooms 1,2,3 are the issue. Any ideas? This did not start till last update( app and firmware).
I have two rooms with Sonos, Office with a Play 5, and Lounge that had a Playbar, and two Sonos One SL surrounds. They have worked flawlessly for years. A few months ago I had to disable the lounge system for home repairs and just reconnected the system. In that time I have also upgraded to a Nest Pro 6e wifi system to replace the previous mesh. When reconnecting the lounge system - nothing worked - had to factory reset several times, the app could not find the devices, would fail halfway through etc. The Playbar kept saying it wasn't getting power or wifi and I spent hours trying to get it to work. Since I had an upgrade discount, and the room was refurbished, I decided to go ahead and get a Sonos Arc to replace the Playbar.I have the Arc paired with the two Sonos SL surrounds, but now I can’t tune the system, or check for updates as it can’t connect to the system. My Amazon Music account can’t connect, but the system plays fine over eArc HDMI, and curiously has no issue connect
Is it possible to fast scroll down artists/albums on an iPad from music files stored on MyCloud Home to Sonos? It is tedious going down all the artist names etc. to get near the end of the alphabet.
I have recently purchased a 65” Samsung Frame TV and a Sonos Arc, they preform great and I love the sound from the Arc.The issue I’m finding is that under certian circumstances the Sonos does not connect porpoerly to the TV. I find that after the TV has been in the Media mode (displaying art work) for some time when I switch to TV the Sonos does not either connect or power up. The TV reverts to internal speaker and I have to go into settings to and change it. It works fine once this is done and even if you go from media and back to TV the Sonos remains working, it really seems to take some time before the same issue occurs. I’m wondering if others have seen this similar effect and or if there is any suggested resolution? I have chatted with Sonos support and they quickly sent me to Samsung before I could even ask if this was a know problem hence my post.
Over the last couple of months I’ve noticed when trying to adjust a rooms volume in the sonos app, it will jump ± several points. For example if I move the slider to 13, it will jump up to 15 after I remove my finger from the slider. Sometimes it will jump down, to say, 11. App is up to date and so is the system. It’s been really annoying. Anyone else?
I started using Ubiquiti Unifi Network Products (1xRouter, 1xSwitch, 2xAccess Points) in my Environment for Security reasons the Sonos Products were moved to a separate VLAN (IoT), since then I have problems controlling the Equipment. My Sonos system is working well and reliably in a VLAN (IoT) when the Controller (Android or Windows) is one the same LAN (IoT).When I move my controller devices to the Main LAN, then for the most of the time the Sonos cannot be controlled from the main LAN via Android or Windows. It works one some devices and not on others. At the moment I am controling the speakers with temporarily moving to IOT network to control SONOS, but that will get old quick. I shouldn’t have to redo my entire firewall config, and risk security, just to make these devices work. There are some strange Problems when the controller is on the Main LAN, see below:It works on:-Android OnePlus 10 device (latest versions of Android and Controller App)It does NOT work on:-Android Google Pix
I have Sony android tv and Sonos beam and stream Netflix via Virgin Media TiVo box. When I resume playing Netflix after pausing it the audio is muted and I have to turn the tv off and then back on to re-establish the audio. Surely this can’t be right. The tv output is set at Dolby Digital Plus and the Sonos beam shows audio in as Dolby Digital Plus 5.1.Any idea how I resolve this?
Can you please help my play 1 has dropped out when I try and contact it goes to lounge 2i have all my other speakers in lounge 1 so I try to add it in Fix surround it will not let me put it with the other speakers can any one please 🙏 help
My sonos isn't working and it says not connected to the WiFi. But It is. I've had nearly 4 hours on the phone with 4 different sonos advisers and no joy. Anyone got any ideas please
I am having an issue playing Spotify through my Sonos app. I keep getting an error message saying "Unable to play (song) the connection to Spotify was lost." It starts then stops after 20 seconds. I understand this is a widespread problem with no definitive solution. I so close to switching to another system so I am begging 4 help!! • Internet connection is stable.• Issue just occured today during playback. Sonos system was installed a 5+ years ago, and everything was working fine until last month • Spotify app works fine by itself, and I can not play Sonos Radio through the speakers. The same issue when I try to play Spotify through Sonos.• I have tried powering the Sonos amps off and on. No fix.• I have removed my Spotify account in the Sonos app, and then reconnected it. No fix.• I have tried clearing my queue in the Sonos app. No fix.• I checked for updates on both apps after the problem occured. No update for Spotify, but I did update Sonos. No fix.
We’ve been having various challenges with the Arc since installing last weekend, most seemingly related to our Samsung TV and/or Sky Stream box (tbc). This morning whilst sound seems to be working fine, I’ve noticed that the status light on front of Arc is occasionally dimming and then going bright again. Does anyone know what this indicates?
Not sure if anyone else is experiencing issues with Sonos Music Library and the Synology NAS becoming unresponsive or very sluggish, or with random speakers disappearing from the S2 app. I recently enabled the Music Library feature in Sonos (before the 13.4.1 update in Dec 2021 which introduced SMB3 support). At that time, I configured my Synology NAS to use SMB1 to allow the connection to work. I was on DSM Version: 7.0.1-42218 and running S2 13.3.2. Somewhere around 11/25/21, my Synology started going offline and become unresponsive. I was running a DS1517+ with 2GB of RAM and noticed that the SMB process was eating a lot more RAM than usual. Also, started seeing thousands of connections from the Sonos speakers, multiple times for each speaker. My Sonos updated to 13.4, but the issue still remained.I opened a case with Synology and they determined that the Sonos speakers were opening hundreds of connections per speaker and leaving the connections open. This was slowly draining the me
When I bought my system, I was mis-informed by the store I purchased at. I was told wi-fi was needed for initial setup, but not to use system. I have the Beam Sound Bar hooked to TV in a camper. I have 2 TV’s linked together on opposite ends. I purchased the Move(s) to accompany the sound bar. Works fine together when I have internet, but when I have no internet, the moves will not connect. I spoke with a friend about this, and I was informed that there are devices that can create an “internal” type wi-fi without a connection to the internet. Would something like this work with a Sonos system? I would like to add the sub mini to the system if it will connect. Thank you in advance for your help!!
My sonos move suddenly stopped working. The light is red and it’s not showing up in the app. I’ve tried to restart it by holding in the power button, after 15-17 seconds it restarts, the battery bar shows in orange and the light turns white but after a few seconds it turns red again and the battery bar disappears. Any idea how to fix this? thanks
Hi allIm at wits end and at a loss as I keep receiving an error 30 message when trying to update my Sonos Beam (gen 1). I have gone through all the steps in the help and support page; hard reboot of modem and beam, restore to facotry settings, plugged into the router, connected via ethernet to the network (the disable wifi option on the app was greyed out as the Beam cannot be setup to error 30), reset the app setting, uninstalled and reinstalled the app, tried the update via the PC and nothing beyond the damned error 30 message! Running S2 as the Beam is compatible with it. Asked at some point to upgrade to S2 from S1Please help if you can as the Beam has worked perfectly until now.
Having returned my first Sonos Roam to the retailer as it simply didn’t work at all, and received a replacement, I am finding the replacement impossible to use too. Apple Music won’t work with it (Sonos cannot access my playlists even though it lists them), and the connection with Bluetooth is very unreliable.I am returning my second Sonos roam to the retailer for a full refund and will never purchase another Sonos product again. The Sonos Roam is very probably the worst consumer product I have ever had the stupidity to buy.
bought a used speaker. When I got home and plugged it in it just starts flashing red. I have read that it’s due to not being connected for over 30 mins. As soon as powered on it starts flashing red. I have tried unplugging waiting 10 sec then plugging back while holding the mute button. Doesn’t do anything tried multiple times. Tried connecting straight to router with Ethernet cord can’t get it to do anything either. Took it apart and tried seeing if any burn marks on board it all looks good. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
So here is my setup: Living Room - Arc (hardwired), Symfonisk frames, and sub Master Bedroom - Beam, Symfonisk frames Dining Room - Beam About two weeks ago I was having this weird issue where I couldn't play any music to just Master Bedroom, it kept giving me some weird error (I cannot remember now what it was). Now, it would work if I played on the Dining Room and then added Master Bedroom to the group, but not the other way around. Now for the past few days when I'm trying to use Sonos, it says there are updates available, but when I try to update it I get "Error 30" or “Error 1001”.I have a firewall running pfSense for my router. Currently what I have done is unplugged every piece of Sonos I have, rebooted my router multiple times, and have started with the Arc in the Living Room, both wired and unwired, and keep getting update errors. Can anyone help please?
I’ve been having issues with playlists exported from iTunes, where any songs with special characters in the filename wouldn’t play in the playlist, despite playing fine when playing through my library within Sonos. Support weren’t unable to resolve this, their solution was to export as .xml instead of .m3u or .m3u8 - from what I can see it doesn’t even support .xml playlists.Anyway I came across this manual workaround within these forums, which did solve the problem, however I have quite a few playlists, with a number of problem tracks in each, I also export regularly to pick up any updates to the playlists so manually editing every time would be a nightmare.I’ve ended up writing a PowerShell script to fix all of my playlists with one click. I saw a request elsewhere for a script to do this so posting it here in case it is of use to anyone. Simple copy the script to a new file and save as type .ps1, editing the three variables at the top as per your own structure. If your playlist path
I hear an intermittent thump during softer passages of various files, particularly in Calm. Though it sounds like a bass kick drum, it is irregular and clearly not keeping time. This often happens with nature sounds or similar as I fall asleep. I don’t see this addressed for Sonos One in the archive.
Since a few weeks my Sonos Connect Amp is losing the sound while watching TV or a movie. It will switch to TV audio instead of my speakers and sub. After a while it will get back. I have unplugged rebooted, reinstalled but nothing works. Anybody has an idea?
I recently reset my phone to factory settings to give it a refresh. I recently went to play Spotify through my songs arc. I now can’t get my arc to connect to Spotify or my wifi. Has anyone come across this issue?
Have 100’s of iTunes albums that appear in feint writing, but none of them play (error 802)???
So I just got my Arc it is a refurbished unit connected to my Q60T, I am using Audioquest blueberry cables and every so often (typically on Atmos content) the sound will cut out for like 5 seconds and come back. I have reset the tv, unplugged and replugged both the TV and Soundbar and swapped my cables. I have also tested eARC auto and off, digital audio and pass through. seems the dropout is better with eARC off the dropout only happens for a second, but is still noticeable. Anything that can be done to use this Soundbar at its full potential?
