I have a Beam upstairs and an Arc downstairs. The Beam works fine with Alexa ( although have an Amazon fire stick close by the Beam, and I wonder if it’s that which is responding?! - this is connected to the tv, and so is the Beam). but with the Arc Alexa keeps replying - “first enable skill for Arc in Alexa app” .. which is already enabled but I’ve tried disabling it and re-enabling it, but then Alexa says it can’t find devices. I’ve been able to control the Arc via Sonos app, playing Amazon Music, but Alexa won’t work. Can anyone help with this? I’m very confused!
Hi have a new Samsung Frame TV in the living room and the one connect box is in the closed cabinet right next to the TV. My Sonos AMP set up is inside my media room which is on the other side of the house from the living room. The Sonos AMP is currently connected to my 5 ceiling speakers in the living room. That is working perfectly. Now I want to get the Sonos Amp connected to my Samsung frame so I can run the TV audio to the ceiling speakers. The one connect is in the cabinet next to the TV and inside the cabinet I have a RG6 coaxial female port and then I have a Cat6 port. Both of these hook ups run directly into the media room across the house where my Sonos amp is stored. I need to use either the coaxial hook up or the CAT6 hook up but I cannot figure out the best set up.Currently I have tried this set up:I plugged an optical audio cable into the Samsung one connect box and put the other end in this switch that I found on Amazon (Optical-to-Coaxial or Coax-to-Optical Digital Audio
I updated my sonos system 2 days ago, since then, IKEA hub cannot see any of the speakers. All of them are offline. Can you please fix this?
I currently have a Sonos Beam gen 2 with two surround sound Play 1 speakers. I used TRUEPLAY to make sure that the sound was going to be optimum. The issue I am having, and no one seems to be able to help, is that the surround sound speakers at the back cannot be controlled independently. The BACK LEFT surround speaker has a volume MUCH LESS then the volume of the BACK RIGHT surround speaker. I want to balance those two rear surround Sonos Play 1 speakers.
Hi there,I have just replaced my Sonos One SLs with two Era 300s. In the setup I have an Arc and 2 Subs (3rd Generation).I did initially buy the official stands, however both are slightly leaning forward and not 'square'. I also prefer a neater look, and so will wall mount the Era 300s. Is the above position ideal, or should they be wider apart? My listening position is also slightly lower when watching a film, so I'll have them slightly lower than the stands, will this have any downside? I have one Sub sat on the Era 300 stand's base to the right (it sits here perfectly fine), and the other in the opposite corner of the room where the screen is. Again, is this a good position for the Subs? I haven't found any good Atmos demos to test, although they are significantly better than the Ones. Fuller sound, and better connection to the front and rear channels. Thumbs up! Thanks,David
Hi all, just ran various 5.1 and 7.1 tests and the outside channels are firing when sound is supposed to come from the rear left or right. Meanwhile the inside channels are firing for sounds supposed to come from side left / right. Shouldn’t this be the other way around, especially with the supposed placement facing straight towards the wall where the TV is placed? My thoughts were that the side left / right would be reflected from the wall after being fired from the 300s outside channel. I saw somebody on Reddit mentioning that repairing as surrounds fixed this issue but it doesn’t on my end. Any ideas how to fix this? I assume this is also the reason why some people have a subpar experience with the 300s as surrounds.
Hi I’m just moving from an old squeezebox system and the lack of this feature (or my inability to find it) is driving me nuts. If I physically change the volume on one speaker in a group, I want all the other speakers in the group to adjust their volume as well. I sort of can’t believe this option doesn’t exist… I had the ability to fine tune the experience on my squeezebox system for as long as I can remember, and I think I started buying them over twenty years ago. Sonos- please add this (very basic) feature.
Hi, I solve the problem with Sonos components disappearing from the wifi network mesh. To do so, I check in my main router “allow network device to autonomously create port forwarding via PCP or UPnP.”
Hi team,I’ve ordered a pair of ERA300s to use as surrounds with my Arc and sub. I was planning of mounting them at regular listening height on the wall behind my couch. Then I read that they can also be placed nearer the ceiling upside down and I can easily mount them there too.So I have a choice. Which is the best position to mount them or doesn’t it matter.cheers, Dave
With limited funds which is the best combination of speakers to pair with my SONOS Beam 2: Two ERA 100’s One ERA 300 One SUB MiniThank you,Tom
If you would just like to listen to music on stereo pair, the ability to ungroup them from soundbar with a click and then regroup back again when you’re done listening without the need to reconfigure TruePlay would be a nice feature to have.
So my remote-not-working issue so far appears to be different than everyone elses. My Down volume control has stopped working, though Up still works. I’m pretty comfortable it’s not hardware for two reasons:I have both my cable remote and a different 3rd party remote configured to do the same up/down volume, and Down volume stopped working for both of them at the same time. Which suggests to me that the problem is on the Sonos side, not the remote side. If I go to setup a new remote and re-do this one, it asks me to press Up Volume. When I press Up volume on the remote, the light on the Playbar blinks and Sonos acknowledges the Up press, and says I’m ready to use my remote. I then try to use the remote, and Up still does not work, but Down still does.Any suggestions?
Hi AllI have just received my white Era 100 to use in my bedroom as a single speaker. Here are my thoughts:The look of the speaker - nice looking although I actually prefer the outgoing One (I have 2 sets of them). The metal grille of the older speaker looks more premium in my opinion. The 100 is still nice mind you.The set up - very easy as I have excellent WiFi in my home. Did not affect my SonosNet speakers in any way. My app now also reflects the WiFi signal feature on this and my portable speakers which is nice. The sound - definitely an improvement on the Ones but not as bigger difference as I thought it would be. Just goes to show how good the Ones are! I would not recommend anyone replaces their Ones, but if buying this size speaker for the first time, then get the 100. Mainly due to the added connections (Bluetooth and line in).Hope this is of use 👍😊
I have just updated my old Yamaha AVR for a Denon 2800. My TV output is to a projector and Sonos Playbar (+Sub + 2x Play1). I have used an HDMI splitter for the past six year to separate the output from the AVR into video to the projector via an HDMI cable and the audio to the Playbar via an optical cable. When I installed the new Denon AVR I intended to use the same projector and Sonos system so connected to the two, via the same splitter box, to the Denon output as I had it previously. The picture quality is fine but I cannot get the sound to work at all.I have spoken to both Denon and Sonos technical support but neither are able to help or suggest what I might try. Can anyone in this community help please? Thanks
I have an LG OLED55BXPTA TV connected to a Sonos Beam2 and S1 surrounds via HDMI eArc. There is a major difference in sound when switching between local channels. I have to increase or decrease volume massively to listen effectively.I have searched online and fiddled with the LG TV Sound settings without success - currently DTV Audio Setting is set to Auto and Digital Sound Out set to Pass Through. If I go into the Sonos App - About My System I notice that the if the TV is on the channel that is very loud then Audio In: is Dolby Digital 2.0, whilst most other channels have PCM 2.0.In another room I also have a Sony OLED TV with a Sony ARC and it shows Audio In: is Dolby Digital 2.0 Plus on all channels. How can I get Audio In: to be Dolby Digital 2.0 Plus on all channels from the LG TV? Any way to fix the sound difference?

I recently purchased a Sonos system for my home, and while I love the sound quality and ease of use, I'm experiencing some major connectivity issues. The speakers frequently drop out or lose connection to the network, and I'm having trouble getting them to reconnect. I've tried all the troubleshooting steps recommended by Sonos, including resetting the system and checking for firmware updates, [spam link redacted] nothing seems to help. It's frustrating to spend so much money on a premium audio system only to have it constantly disconnect and fail to work properly. I would appreciate any advice or assistance from the Sonos community or support team in resolving these connectivity issues.
A great feature for my own personal use and business users (thinking specifically of sports bars in this instance) of Sonos would be to have the television-connected speakers automatically switch to music when television commercials start, and back to the television audio once the game starts again. Please let me know when this update is available, with my sincere thanks.
Hi community, just wondering why I am having to create a new password to do an online update for my Sonos system when I already have a logon and password for it -- which it is not asking for -- this is a new separate prompt forcing a new password creation. Finding this nonsensical. If I select more info it prompts me to create a new Sonos account, which is dumb since I already have one. Again, finding this nonsensical. Anyone else? Any info on this?
I have a Sonos Arc, Sub, and 2 Play 1’s. Can I listen to Music differently and with only the 2 Play’s + Sub (2.1) instead of with all speakers including Arc 5.1?
My Connect has been remarkably sporadic. I have updated my controllers, and then the app led me through two hardware updates. Yet the Connect drops out after a few minutes. I hit “Stop” and “Play” on the app, and we’re good again… for a few.Yes I’ve rebooted router.Yes I’ve rebooted EVERY Sonos product. It’s a Connect with a direct line-of-sight to the router. Ten feet away. In a 1300 square foot apartment. The router is eight months old. Diagnostic 1493639714
I have a Sonos Arc in conjunction with a Sony XR-55A83J and I have two problems:1) The volume can only be scrolled in increments of multiples of two (sometimes 18,20,22, sometimes 21, 23, 25, it maby depends on my previous settings of volume on phone), and sometimes I can't even see the slider even when the volume is increased or decreased.2) Worse thing - it happens that once I play music on my phone from Spotify on the Sonos ARC, then randomly the sound from the TV doesn't come through. It's completely silent, it doesn't help even when I try to fiddle with all the sound settings on the TV, switch the output to TV and back. The TV even switches itself to that "Audio system" input, but it remains completely silent. The only thing that works is physically unplugging the Sonos from the power outlet.
I have looked at many threads on similar topics but none of them addressed my need. I am installing two outdoor speakers which will be connected to the Sonos Amp in my basement. I then plan to have occasional TV viewing outside and I am looking for a way to have the TV audio play on the outdoor speakers. I will not run a HDMI from the amp in the basement to the TV outside. I am looking for a wireless solution, is there a wireless HDMI that would pass the audio signal? Wirelsss Bluetooth signal? A less optimal solution, I have a roam that I could try to connect to the TV via Bluetooth and then group with the outdoor speakers?
