Controllers and Music services

Although I use the Sonos 2 app to control my new components, I also use the old Sonos 1 app to play music in my basement. Unfortunately, the Sonos 1 app is suddenly not able to play anything from my music library. I can play radio through the old app, but when I select Albums, Composers, etc., all I get is a little logo with the text, “No selections are available.” Very frustrating.

Any hep/advice greatly appreciated. Updates run fine on iPad and iPhone. Many thanks! 

After spending hours in a loop of re-authorise / log into your Sonos account misery I resorted to deleting Sonos and ITunes apps from my phone (iPhone 15) / reset my Sonos speakers and started over. I downloaded the Sonos app, connected the speakers and then the WiFi. I was then able to add back my iTunes account. It took 15 minutes!I couldn’t find any helpful suggestions online so resorted to a complete reset - it worked but surely shouldn’t be this hard!

What should I do?I got 2 Sonos Symfonisk lamps as a gift.  I was excited!  I had heard such great things about Sonos speakers.  However, little did I know… I can’t add Spotify as a service and I can’t use voice control (a function I was looking forward to).  Spotify is my main concern.  I contacted support to figure it out, and they said Spotify is not supported in my region.  I live in South Korea, for the record.  I’ve been using Spotify for years.  My family also uses Spotify.  We’re also a Samsung family (again… we’re in South Korea) so Apple Airplay is not an option.  The only thing I could do is subscribe to Apple music, but that means I have to convince my family to switch services as well, forsaking years of playlists and song curation.  If I could at least connect to the speakers directly via Spotify, that would be more than enough for me.  In fact, that would be ideal.  However, that doesn’t work either! Make it make sense!

Thought i would post this, as there doesn't seem to be a fix.Completely random situation. Add 2 or 3 music to the queue and then try to add another and it says 'Unable to add to queue'. Clear the queue and add 1 song and it plays and i can view the empty queue. Try to add another song and you get 'Unable to add to queue' What !!!Clear the queue follow all the the info from my last post. Restart router, etc. Then add songs to queue, i can view, edit, etc. Clear the queue do the same thing and try to view again 'Unable to view queue. Try again later'. Clear the queue and add 1 song, all good, view queue o.k. try to add song and 'Unable to add to queue '.Tried multiple times, over a few days, weeks, etc. Same thing, random all the time. Sonos tech go through the same thing, restart router,  etc. Just the same. Getting fed up, as there doesn't seem to be a fix. Loads of app updates but still not fixing. Just an update to this. I Have in my house 7 products1xS1 in kitchen Sonos surround in living (beam, 2x s3)2 S1 in bedroom1 roamonce adjusted it works all fine but when startup the app it always play the kitchen s1, very annoying every time find livingroom activate that set and shut off kitchen.is there a way to give livingroom priority at startup 

I’ve got a Sonos One SL (Model 922). It connects wirelessly to both my iPad (OS18.4.1) and iPhone (OS 18.4.1). I can stream music from either idevice (not at the same time). So far so good. I’ve also got a Mac Mini M2 (OS 15.4.1) I am unable to wirelessly connect the mini to the speaker. The Sonos S1 Controller app (updated to latest) won’t find it after pushing the button on the speaker. I had it Ethernetted at one point, however I want a WiFI connection (I did factory reset before connecting to idevices). Mini is ethernetted to router and also on house WiFI. What is the magic to wirelessly connect speaker to mini? BTW, I tried adding the S1 controller app to the firewall to allow all incoming connections (per instructions), however that disappears. It seems the Mini doesn’t like the S1 controller app. 

I have seen a few posts in this forum where people ask about why the Android app requires “precise location” permission in order to connect to a Sonos system. Like many of these commenters, I see no obvious reason why Sonos would require “precise location” and urge Sonos to remove this requirement. Perhaps it is needed because there have been changes to Android APIs in recent versions of Android, and Google is somehow coercing Sonos to implement what appears to be a dark pattern on their users. If that is the case, fine, but Sonos should post a FAQ somewhere explaining precisely and in detail why this happens. Otherwise, this just makes Sonos look like a company that collects and resells location data. Perhaps they are? I don’t think so. HelloThe Sonos App refresh in May 2024 brought significant changes/improvements relating to App Navigation or User Interface (UI) . Granted “improvements” may be debatable depending upon your then and now comfort level to proficiently navigate the App.  This Tutorial is not about missing features; which to date are few compared to almost a year ago, but more about App UI (as was stated at the beginning).  Disclaimer: This is a community member authored tutorial. This is not an official Sonos authored tutorial/document; nor is it supported by Sonos Customer Service and/or Tech Support. Selecting a room other than what is showing in the  “Now Playing” section at the bottom of the App upon opening is not as difficult as you might think or have experienced.  Here’s how it’s done in 4 easy steps without stopping the activity in another room.In Image # 1 below you see that the room “TV” is in the “Now Playing” box at the bottom circled in Red. Everytime I open the app it now says it can't find my system despite often a few of my speakers being on and actually streaming bbc sounds.  If I wait around 10-15 minutes often the app eventually shows the system and if I'm lucky I can change what the speakers are playing. Everything takes sooooooo long to react, and changing the volume in the app is almost impossible.  Changing the speakers individually or trying to group them takes a few goes and is not really worth the amount of time it takes.  Luckily one of my speakers is a Roam and I use Alexa when I can.  I hate the app and wont be buying Sonos again despite currently having speakers in every room!  SO FRUSTRATING! IF I downgrade to Sonos 1 I can't use it for a couple of my speakers!!! Really pissed iff with it

I just purchased the Sonos arc sound bar which I could integrate into the system but I cannot integrate the sub as all the sudden my account is not recognized anymore as owner. I found a quick solution to play my IPod Video generation 5 through Sonos. I purchased an inexpensive 30pin to usb connection at Amazon. I connected it through the USB port of my TV that is connected to Sonos. Not only am I able to play my iPod through my entire Sonos system, I can visually see the content on the television if I prefer. Since I have an LG TV, I was able to download the remote app on my phone, therefore I can forward, pause, and play away from the room. 

As stated above. Music simply stops playing half way through a song. Before anyone says “it’s your network” or “check your wifi settings” etc etc all other lossless services perform normally. This seems to be an issue with Apple Music and has been going on for months now. Is anyone else experiencing similar issues, specifically when playing Apple Music via the Sonos app so as to get lossless. 

I can no longer add songs to my Sonos playlists, nor create new ones. This happened when Sonos updated their app and still hasn’t been rectified. For the amount I’ve spent on Sonos speakers this is a disgrace. There is no reason why Sonos could not have fixed this problem. The app update should not have been released until Sonos had tested it to ensure playlists could be used correctly on all platforms. When will this be fixed?

Hi guys today I payed $22.99 for lifetime purchase on streaming music no adds etc etc and it’s nothing but terrible not user friendly how can I get my money back very disappointed from Sonos 

Where has the content service Radioapp gone? It is no longer available since i upgraded to the new app.

Having the same problem as other posters. I cannot play anything from my Apple Music collection through the app. It buffers endlessly or does not respond at all.  But I can stream via airplay to my One SLs, sub and arc. Other sources work fine through the app - Sound cloud, Sonos radio, Spotify, etc.  This problem arose some time in the last 6-8 weeks because that was the last time I used the system and it worked fine then. 

Updated today to 80.15.01 Android + the latest update on the SONOS Beam Controller.I have my Music Library on a DLNA server (Twonky) in my local LAN.I still encounter queue-related issues:browse to Music Library → Albums: I can, indeed add an entire Album to the currently playing queue browse to Music Library → Folders: I cannot add a folder to the currently playing queue (exactly like in my other post where I reported this) browse to Music Library → Imported Playlists (where I see the .m3u files that I have in my library) go to one playlist, hit play: it works fine go to another playlist, go to context menu, hit Add to End of Queue: I get an error message: “Unable to add to queue” I stopped here, for now that’s all the free QA work that I’m willing to provide to SONOS. As I previously said, I’ll keep using the SONOS Beam to listen to TuneIn Radio, Spotify Podcasts and personal Music Library. Have iTunes library on NAS - can access and play songs by Songs, Artist, Album, etc. but Playlist does not work.  I see all Playlists and songs within in but when I try to play, I get message that says “unable to play song as share on NAS does not exist”.   Again, I can play songs by individual songs, albums, artist, genre but when trying to play songs in a playlist, get error message.

By far the most useful way I found to create a playlist was to build the songs in the queue, listen to them and shuffle the order until I was satisfied  and then save the playlist. will this capability be returning?

The new app is taking shape nicely and I'd say its now functionally almost matching the old app (and of course it looks better and is 'modern'). But there are still some little gripes that I'd like to feedback to Sonos:1) When entering the queue it takes you back to the top instead of where the current song is being played. Gets very tedious when you have a long list. Would love to see an Apple Music style queue where tracks already played are hidden but you can always scroll back if you want to replay that song thats stuck in your head again....and again.... and again… 2) When I want to play 'My station' from apple music on the home screen it always fails (error). I have to go to services > apple music and play it from there every time. Could be widespread to all stations but I haven't tried. Another little annoyance.  3) Album art seems to drop in and out of existence. 4) Search. When searching it would be great to set a service as default so it gives me the full search of that se

I can start Spotifyplaylists playback on livingroom speakers, but after one or two songs, it just stops playing the next song. When I then manually skip to the next song, it will play it and then stop again.I tried re-adding/reauthorizing Spotify service but this didn’t help. I also don’t think its a networking/router issue since it plays fine after manually going to the next track. 

I am running an android phone and installed the new app last week. Ever since, it has been taking 5 minutes or more just to start the app. It is unusable. I have tried clearing cache and clearing all data then connecting it again, but still no difference. The old app loaded in seconds. Is anyone else finding this?

I have an Apple Music playlist with approximately 1200 songs.  When I shuffle play the list on Sonos, it only utilizes the first 200’ish songs (alphabetically songs beginning with A-E).   How can I get Sonos to recognize and utilize the entire playlist?
