Controllers and Music services

 Guys,  Hoping someone can help me out here — or at least validate that I’m not crazy. Since the update, my system either hasn’t worked AT ALL (app won’t recognize the system, play button just freezes) to being glitchy at best (must pair one speaker with others to eventually play the room you want). If a song DOES decide to play, a random one that wouldn’t play days ago plays afterward.  I’ve owned Sonos speakers for about 8 years, consider myself a pretty tech savvy guy, have never had a problem like this in the past, and already reset every speaker/the entire system. It seems like the problems Sonos is promising to eventually address are smaller than this scale… but what about people like me whose system just straight-up doesn’t work anymore? Am I alone here? I feel like I’ve invested thousands of dollars in paper weights all over my house!

I listen to a specific podcast thru Sonos everyday.  I (unfortunately) updated the Sonos app, and now am being told my podcast is ‘no longer available’.  Really???????????????  How can that be corrected? 

Today (29/5/2024)I am no longer able to get into the sinos app as it keeps asking to update a product I do not have or ever had. When I open the app I see the general screen for a few seconds and then it asks for a system update. I follow the instructions but it shows an image of a zine player which I do not have.If I try and update it says my system is up to date then says a sonos update is required for my products to work properly.  I cand fet past this screen. I have a network consisting of a beam, play 1x2 snd a sonos one.Please advise what is going on   

I want to go  back to the old s2 appThis is missing to much  I am in the state to sell all my sonos ! And that is really true     

I’ve imported my music library from iTunes. I’m using an old version of iTunes (12.8.3.1). My music library is fairly large but what I’ve noticed is Sonos has only imported some of the material, not everything. I also have my iTunes music library on a newer macbook pro with the latest version of both the OS and iTunes, as well as on the cloud. I’ve tried importing from each of these (old iTunes, new iTunes and the cloud) with pretty much the same results. I’ll have maybe half or three quarters of a particular artists work while other artists I seem to get more / all of. I’ve tried importing a few times, starting from scratch each time. I’ve also tried “updating” my sonos library, neither approach resolved this. Anyone run into this and find a solution? OR, can you offer a method for me to simply import the missing content ad hoc? Thanks!

So despite the upgrades and issues with playlists and queues, I had managed to see my entire library on a NAS on the updated app. Then suddenly, on Friday, the Library disappeared and I can no longer see any songs, artists, albums, etc.HOWEVER, Sonos is still pulling from the library to play the Playlists that are still showing up. In other words, the old playlists are there and the songs on those playlists are playing, but now I can’t browse through my library alphabetically to play an album. Not that I was happy about losing search and playlist generation capabilities, but at least I could PLAY my library by scrolling through thousands of albums alphabetically.What happened on Friday?Before Friday, I was able to build new queues via Sonophone while waiting for functionality to return, but now I can’t see anything in my library to do that.I have 4 speakers: 2 ERA 100, 2 Play 1. All are Sonos S2, Version 16.2, build 79.0-52294iP

Thx guys. There is no way to set up alarms anymore so I will have to unplug all my speakers because I have a feeling that new app didn’t delete alarms on speakers. Great work indeed (irony), honestly had bigger expectations from new app. But whole experience is messy as hell. UI is like from a two year old, where every part of app is acting differently with several mixed up ways to behave on user input. 

Music services not populating…..why?

Would it be possible to reinstate the SMBV1 protocol (alongside V2/3) to allow older file servers/storage to be used, for example, some usb file storage on wifi routers.? 

I have upgraded to a new router now I can’t connect to the new WI-FI. I tried all the settings still can’t connect. I tried deleting my account and created a new account now the products are not showing to pair. I tried deleting the app and reinstalled but still no luck. asking to sign in as an owner. Is anyone have solution for this? Thanks in advance.

Over night I my sonos one sl lost connection with the app. I’m not able to reconnect it through Wi-Fi or cable from the wall. The led light is solid white. I’ve tried rebooting my router and disconnect all my sonos devices. I’m using a deco m9 router. Any assistance is very much appreciated.

I moved the main hub now app can’t find it? 

I listen to BBC Sounds podcasts via my Play:3 speakers. Since the new iOS app update, the app only lists the most recent 30 episodes of a BBC Sounds podcast (not sure if this is the same for other sources). This means I cannot listen to old episodes of podcasts via my Sonos system, something I could do with the previous S2 app.Can Sonos explain why this limitation has been introduced please?

up until a few days ago, I was using Sonos s2 v16.1 with the classic search on an iPad.  I’ve since upgraded to 18.04.  now, I can no longer find the podcast on Amazon that I was looking for.  can you tell me how to find the “Playing with Fire” (radio 1100 am WHLI) podcast?   alternatively, is there a way to use classic search on 18.04?  or, lacking that, is there a way to back to sonos 16.1? 

After buying a Ray I had to indtal the S2 app of Sonos to control it.My other devices run on the old S1 app.But now suddenly when opening the s1 it wants me to go to the s2 app - and I cannot access the s1 app and therefor not use and control my devices!!what to do??

Does an app update (the latest) make any difference for the trueplay? Is it the software in the speakers or the app that make the settings right?

Pocketcasts podcast integration no longer syncs progress either with prior listening via Sonos or with progress on pocket casts app.  This feature still works as intended on the old S2 app, but is completly broken in the new update.I contacted support online.After a 20 minute wait I spent twenty minutes with an advisor who told me the following…Podcasts are not supported on the Sonos system, only music services. Upon my further information they told me pocketcasts is a music service.  I pointed out that the settings on the old app specifically mentions podcasts when adding services and voice. The solution was to reboot my speakers. I pointed out that on my android phone, under the old app the system still works fine, on ios via the new app the podcasts start at the beginning every time, irrespective of progress. They told me to reboot my speakers. I reported other pocketcasts users experiencing the same

I just purchased an ERA300 and in order to benefit from Dolby Atmos I am trialling Apple Music coming from Spotify.As I never used it before I need to train its algorithms, selecting songs, liking and disliking suggestions in the apple app as the sonos app doesnt support this.  But if I use the apple app and select the sonos speaker then it doesn’t support Dolby Atmos. So it would appear I have two choices: listen to music I don’t like in Atmos quality or listen to music I do like without Atmos - which was half the reason for selecting this speaker.  Am I missing something?

A loss of some features in new app, no alarm, sleep timer,add song to playlist  

Hi there, I am a Sonos user since 2010, very happy regarding this solution. Actually I have to tell the the S2 app is not work properly in the last months; volume is not working on S2 app (on spotify yes..), and almost every time I try to connect on my network the app says some room is missing, or is not possible to contact a speaker...in the meantime Spotify is working fine.There is anything that Sonos SW eng could do to fix all these issues?The experience on the app is becoming really bad, lately… @sonos? Could you help?Tks Matteo

I cannot play my local music on a stereo pair. Single speaker works fine..…Does anyone have the same problem?

Sonos have told me here are issues with this recent update, which caused me to loose my Music but they were able to give me bac the radio options last week. There are clearly having some real issues dealing with the problem and I was told the plan is either to work on “work arounds” or wait for the update to fix the problems. Does this mean I cannot access ad play my own music library lists once again. This seems to happen each time they do an UPDATE! Has anyone got any ideas. I am not very tech savvy so no good giving me IT speak replies lol. 

I had to reset my WiFi password cause we think someone hacked our system and was using our WiFi.   As you know, all our Sonos are now disconnected, which is like 7 rooms of speakers.  There surely is a way to reset the password in the app?   Online is telling me I have to do a factory reset on all speakers?  Which would be over 20 speakers for me.. Any help would be greatly appreciated!Thanks, Nels 

Since the latest (May 2024) upgrade to the Sonos App my system has stopped working.System consists of:Sonos BoostSonos 1 x 1Sonos 3 x 2The app has so far spotted the Boost but then failed to add it, stating only:We couldn’t find any Sonos products on your mobile device’s network so we can’t set up you [Boost].I’ve had the same result trying to set up the two Play 3’s.Bizarrely, the Play 1 has been set up with no problem. But without the boost or the play 3’s I don’t have a network worth a light.All products have been factory reset and were each individually connected to the router via ethernet during attempts to set up. Mobile device was on the same Wi-Fi network (2.4Ghz) as the boost (am assuming still that Sonos does not support 5 or 6 ghz). Any ideas? ThanksFrank
