Controllers and Music services

Next up on the list of things badly broken by the new app  - device selection. I have 5 Sonos devices and the system now wants to always select the first one alphabetically. In this case, the one named Bedroom. When I powered that off it picked Kitchen. But I want to play on Living Room, so I select that, but the app wants to play on Kitchen+1. So I uncheck Kitchen a second time and then it plays on Living Room. But it continues to show that only Kitchen is the device selected. However it shows that music is playing (the bouncing equalizer) on Living Room even though that is not selected!  So I uncheck Kitchen a third time and select Living Room again, which is still playing music, and that made it stop playing altogether. And Kitchen is the selected device!Anyone else seeing this weirdness?How in the world could Sonos have released this piece of garbage. Each day I use the new app brings out another glaring defect. Sonos needs to fix this piece of junk. I

Hello. As usual, the integration with the audio app I want to use is buggy and not a good experience. In this case, it’s Audible. I have been listening to a new book for weeks now. Connected Audible and it doesn’t show up. Don’t see any way to search for my book. I deleted and reinstalled both Sonos and Audible app as well as restarted my router. So it’s all pretty frustrating as I can’t listen to the book across all my speakers. I used to be able to connect via Bluetooth using a Bluetooth speaker and then just link the other speakers using the app but this seems to no longer work with the new app release. Please help. I just want to use this system and I’m constantly not able to.  

I lost access to my music library (on my Mac Mini) after 7pm tonight - it appeared to coincide with an update on our MacBook (that I couldn’t avoid).I have now lost access to my Music Library on both my S1 and S2 products - anyone know why that might be?These are the messages I get:S1‘// Jamess-Mac-Mini/Music’ is no longer available. The device where the music files are stored may not be powered on, or the path my have changed.Go to settings>System>Music Library>Music Library Setup to check the path.The only options I get are to add/delete a music libraryS2Sonos was unable to add the music folderUnable to add the shared folder “James-Mac-mini/Music” to your Music Library (913)As I said, all was working until around 7pm tonight, then everything stopped. So disappointed.  

Any word on when we will get the ability to remove "Pined by you" items from the web controller home screen?I've gotten 16 of the useless things showing above my favorites and can't see an option to delete themin the web controller.

Manage drop down menu: Choose Music Library Settings: Press + Choose “another folder or drive connected to my computer” (as my music is not in “My Music Folder”)  Browse: choose folder where my music is : Users/MYNAME/ Dropbox/iTunes  Next → SONOS WAS UNABLE TO ADD THE MUSIC FOLDER, ACCESS TO THE SHARED FOLDER IS DENIED - CHECK THE USERNAME AND/OR PASSWORD I read some other posts about this problem, so I already did the following two possible fixes: System Settings: Sharing: and I turned ON File Sharing and Media Sharing  System Settings: Privacy & Security: Full Disk Access: +. and I added Sonos, so that it can access data on my Mac. Why can i not listen to RadioTunes anymore on my Sonos? Before i was very happy for my Sonos, but not anymore😳👎👎. I have called Sonos support here in Denmark, but they was not to any help🤔👎. All the problems started with the new TuneIn update + the new Sonos update.

I’m not sure why Sonos thinks this is a desirable feature, but it drives me crazy: Whenever I shuffle a playlist, the very first song in the playlist’s “natural” order is not shuffled. The rest of the songs are shuffled, but not the first song. This sucks.Another unrelated nuisance is that Sonos seems to restart playing the shuffled playlist from the beginning without any prompting from me. So for example, if play a shuffled playlist, sometimes it will continue to play where it left off, and sometimes, inexplicably, it will start from the first song again.I’m wondering what the logic is behind these annoying behaviors.

I upgraded my wifi mesh system. Now any hard wired computer that uses the S1 controller cannot see the system. The system works when using the app with my phone. With the desktop app I connect to the system and I get the  “ connected to the system”  screen. I click done and it immediately goes to the desktop app screen stating it cannot find the system. All speakers are seen on the mobile app and work fine

Can you let us know when Sonos Playlist will be available in the new app?

An alarm I saved that worked yesterday is shown today as “not available” and did not work.  Why is this?

I have a 4 speaker system which the latest update has rendered virtually unusable.Group volume control is useless, every time the app is opened I get the unable to connect message and when I try to connect to existing system it says no products can be found!When it does eventually find the system (can take up to 3 minutes), it can drop out at any minute.Why the app can't just be rolled back to a previous version is beyond me, at least that actually worked.I've read Mr Spence's email apologising on behalf of the 'Team' but as this debacle is now into its 4th month with zero improvement, all I want to here from him now is he's done the decent thing and resigned. 

I just upgraded from my old Sonos 1. Generation (from maybe 15 years ago?) and bought a couple of Move 2’s and a Move.  Installed the new version of Sonos and everything works EXCEPT when I try to play from Apple Music.  I have authorized Apple Music to play in Sonos.  I see the music I want to play on AM.  I select a song.  It either scrolls step by step through the entire album, playing nothing OR if I select a particular song, it seems to play for about one second and then it stops and the play button shows again.  I used Sonos with Apple Music in the past with my old system, never had this problem.  I tried removing and re-adding AM as a service, still the same useless behavior.  I have no idea how to fix this.  Spotify and Sonos Radio working fine.

Hi, new sonos app was just installed on my android. It is a mess, half of the services won't work, can't find the other half. Design is chaotic. Had my favourite radio stations on top, now they are mixed and hidden somewhere. How do i revert to the old version?

Background: iMac using macOS Sonoma 14.5; Sonos Controller for Mac Version 16.2, Sonos OS S2, Build 79052294; Play 1 Sonos OS S2, Version 16.2 (build 79052294), Hardware Version 1.8.3-1.0There have been a lot of helpful posts for Mac users with work arounds to access their local music library once it disappeared after updating to the new app. Some people had success - others didn't including me. I’ve tried all the suggestions several times with no joy. To date (27 May 2024) I haven’t found anything other than a statement from Sonos that they plan on having this issued resolved by mid-June. Am I missing something?Radley

I have an extensive Sonos playlist that I built from my Apple Music Library.  Today, I went to add a track to the playlist, and when i highlight the song, the list of options does not include adding it to the playlist.  How do I get new music on the playlist?

my music keeps going on and off on my speakers but on the sonos app its showing the song playing but there is no sound on any of my 5 speakers… anyone get the same issues? I use it with Apple Music 

Like a lot of people I have not been happy with the new Sonos application. I decided to start downgrading my connect amps to the S1. Upon doing this, I use Apple Music and every tab works fine except playlist. When I go into playlist, they are all there, but all of them are missing their names. Everything is blank on the playlist tab except there are obviously separate playlist.   When I click on one the songs are there, but the name of the playlist is not at the top. The tracks are playing and I can see the name of the tracks. I am unable to to determine the name of the playlist out of many of them.   Is this a problem on my end or is what has become of Apple Music on the s1 application? Thank you. 

Sigh,Is it safe to upgrade the Sonos Controller for Mac?I am using Version 16.1, Sonos S2, Build 78151030 that stills gives me access to editable Queues and local Music Library control. But I fear that any false move will jettison those abilities?Would it be asking too much to ask for a list of changes you will be implementing on each successive Update now that we have had a taste of your surprises?Thanks,David

If the Sonos app is open then the main volume of the iphone itself won’t mute.  Force quitting the Sonos app makes the phone volume mute work correctly again. It seems that when the Sonos app is open it’s running almost constantly in the background, eating up the phone battery and getting in the way of the phone volume control, but what’s it doing? I have all the permissions settings for the Sonos app off except local network access - no Bluetooth, background app refresh, location, notifications, microphone, Siri, nothing. The app and speakers are all up to date.  Are there any other settings I should look at if the problem could be my phone? If it’s another new app glitch I’ll just keep force quitting it every time I open it and keep waiting for Sonos to fix it like the other ongoing app things.

My Play 3 lost power last night and won’t connect to the network. I’ve-rebooted the router and the pc-uninstalled and reinstalled the s2 controller-the app shows the Play 3 “Not connected”, but is still visible in the system-I get a flashing orange led when i press the “Pause” button 

So after this horrible update the artist list stops at J alphabetically? Anyone else use this and have this experience? Reaching the end of the line with Sonos 

SiriusXM message “Something went wrong.  Try again.” Have deleted, reinstalled and reauthorized app.  Have multiple Sonos systems and only have this issue at one location.  I get all the way to the channel and then try to hit the play arrow and this is the message I get. 

Your app is not only very bad in terms of functionality (disappeared functionalities, bugs everywhere..) But also a technical disaster.. Got now my battery drained and warning from my phone.. Have you really tested something before release? 

Do Sonos publish any technical documentation anywhere? Specifically I’m looking for: A list of error codes and what they meanDetailed requirements for a CIFS share to be eligible to be added to a music library.  If not, why not?

After the most recent sonos update, I cannot add symfonisk bookshelf speakers to the app.I have tried: reseting devicetransferring ownership to same account Any other ideas?? @sonos any rep can comment on this?
