Controllers and Music services

My favourite stations will not play. In particular stations from other countries. No error message or anything suggesting of an issue come up. I can listen to some stations but only local ones, within the same country. Is there a geographical limit? 

Well, having previously posted that I’d managed to get a reasonably stable Sonos system 80% of the time since the infamous App upgrade largely due to overhauling our WiFi, that figure took a dramatic downward revision yesterday morning. On launching the Sonos App for some morning music, one speaker of a stereo pair immediately lost connection and 5 hours of repeated factory resets or ethernet cable connections failed to get it to rejoin, just endless ‘lost connection’ error messages during setup. Only solution has been to move another speaker to form the pair, as this was a set where a stereo pair really mattered and I now have one useless Sonos One (Gen 1). In the process of sorting all this, the Sonos App also suddenly lost all of the Apple Music Playlists I had pinned, just to rub its appalling instability in.I’ve now got to the point where I’ve decided not to launch the Sonos App at all and simply stick to Airplay and the Apple Music or Apple Music Classi

I have three speakers in my system (roam is not on). They all show up to select. If I start music on one of them and then try and add the second, it keeps saying unable to connect. See screenshots. It is playing on the Sonos Move. When I check TV Room and apply, I get the unable to connect at the top of the next picture.   I can play different music on each speaker.  I’ve unplugged/powered down the speakers and reset my router and still nothing.  

With the new app, I can’t access my music at all. According to the Sonos support pages, you add your music library by going to “Manage” and then “Music Library Settings”. But in my app, there is no Music Library Settings on that page, only Content Services.I called Sonos support, and they told me that some people are missing that setting, and this is something they’re working on (and they couldn’t say how long that would take). But the lady I talked to didn’t really seem to know what she was talking about. I haven’t found anybody else reporting this problem. Everybody is talking about all the missing features, but nobody mentions not even being able to access your music through the app. Is somebody else experiencing this?

 Why are options like Replace Queue etc. missing from the Play menu.  This was accessing an Apple Music playlist by holding down on it to bring up the context menu. 

  I am running Windows 10 and the music is all digital on both my C drive and the Cloud.  After the update, now Sonos can no longer see/read my Apple Music Library.  My whole system is now basically useless.  I can bluetooth to my Move but … really?  if that’s all i want to do I don’t need Sonos.This worked fine until the update.  No warnings.  Nothing.  Just no longer works.

Despite downgrading to the 16.1 app on my main Android phone so I have something that works, I am keeping the new app on another Android phone and Android tablet so that I can be aware of updates and hopefully, fixes. I have a large music library on a Synology NAS, with several thousand MP3s with embedded album art.From the start, the new app has sporadically not shown the music library in my sources. When it does, I can play music, but the album art will not display for the current song, or any songs in the queue view. Even when the music library is not shown in the new app, when I start music from the 16.1 or Windows app, it will show as being played in the new app, but will still not display the album art.I’ve spent a LOT of time curating my MP3s and embedding 600x600px album art into each, so this is a real deal breaker for me. Is anyone else seeing this in the new app, and is there anything that can be done? The album art displays properly as expected in the 16.1

Is there a way using the sonos app that I can connect my phone as a service so I can listen to music stored on my phone

Hi, I have a problem with live internet radio. I had two favourite radio stations I used to listen every day and suddenly they both stopped working. It says 'something went wrong' when I am trying to connect to them. I have uninstalled Sonos app from my android phone and installed again but nothing changed. Switched all speakers and WiFi to rebut but still nothing. 

By much floundering around on support threads, I’ve found out what an SMBv1 is, and discovered that’s what my PC running Windows 10 is using. That appears to be why I’m one of the many whose PC-stored Music Library has disappeared from Sonos, which as we all know discontinued support for SMBv1.I’ve wasted two hours between Sonos chat and phone support trying in vain to get my music folder shared again with Sonos.  So I’m wondering if I upgrade from Windows 10 to 11, will I then be running the SMBv2 necessary to work with Sonos again? In other words, does Windows 11 run with SMBv2 by default? Thanks to anyone who can help.

I am thinking of purchasing Sonos surround sound system (ARC, sub, 2 extra speakers).  I want to access my music from my Buffalo Linkstation NAS.  I see that this is one of many problems due to the app update.Is this still an issue? Should I wait to purchase or buy now? 

I’ve been able to add my music library to my Windows 10 Desktop using the NAS device option.  I have a Windows 10 Laptop I use for a different Sonos system in a different location. I have the music library physically on both devices, with the folder sharing settings the same. When I try to add the music library to the laptop system I get the “Folder access denied” message.  When I transferred the music library to a flash drive I was able to add it to the Laptop system without a problem.  Any ideas why? Don’t want to have to leave a flash drive connected all the time.

I’m on a Mac, running Sonos Controller for Mac 16.2 / S2, Build 79153290.When Sonos released their new app, I lost the ability to connect to my 12 year old NAS that only has SMB1 support. I purchased a Buffalo Link Station (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00JKM0A36?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1) which out of the box is configured to “Switch Between SMB2 and SMB1 automatically”. I uploaded a few songs to it just to test out, then pointed Sonos at the NAS drive share point, let it index, and I was able to play those songs. I then transferred the whole library there, about 70 GB, and Sonos said it couldn’t read it: “’//LS210D38C/share/Music’ is no longer available. I’ve invested thousands of pounds in my music collection I can no longer access it from my NAS. Why is this?

So, it has been months since the upgrades, but with several mini updates. I am still having problems with sonos app and just want to check if this is common to others.App remains laggy.Volume controls are haphazard....master volume control does not work as expected...I have to use the manual controls on each speaker to get to the desired volume. Almost everytime i switch apps and go back to Sonos, it does not find the connected system and often takes as long as 3 minutes before it 'finds' the system and reconnects.These just makes the system unusable. I have 12 or so speakers and have been using sonos for over 15 years yet, this last few months have been my worst experience with the sonos.It is almost unusable....Defo not buying any more and seriously considering selling these and moving to something else.

After the IOS version 80.05.04 was updated, any text box in Sonos App can only be entered through Japanese or English and could not be changed into Simplified Chinese which I could use previously, any solutions? Thanks!

I have 2 x Play1 and a sub in top system.And my playbar is in bottom system.How do i combine the 2 systems into one, or delete one of them, maybe playbar and reset and add it again. I have one system in one home on one network on a single router.This happened on this weeks system update..

Since updating to Sonos Controller for Mac 16.3 and 16.3.1, my grouped speakers randomly ungroup.I have a small home and group all my speakers except my Beam: Twice today and several times in the last few weeks, the speakers will ungroup themselves.Is this a known bug of Controller for Mac 16.3? My Mac OS is Sonoma 14.6. Or could this be a bug in the current Sonos app for iPhone?

I got the email about the new Sonos App on 5/9/2024 and updated the Sonos app on my iPhone 13 Pro and iPad (both of which I keep up-to-date with the latest software updates).I use Spotify as my music service and I have 347 different Spotify playlists. Unfortunately, the new Sonos App only shows me the last 50 playlists that I created, I cannot see all 347 Spotify playlists! Yes, I removed the Spotify service and then reinstalled it. Yes, I rebooted my iPhone and iPad. Nothing has worked for being able to see all my Spotify playlists. (Please do not tell me to recreate the playlists on Sonos, I will not do that.) FYI, the old Sonos app let me see all my Spotify playlists, and on my PC laptop running Windows 11 Pro I’m running the Sonos OS S2 version 16.1 application and that lets me see all my Spotify playlists. When will there be a fix for this on IOS? thanks

I am having a problem with my ripped music and Sonos.  My laptop is a recent MacBook Pro running Sonoma 14.5.  o also see the same issues with the iPhone 13 Pro Max running iOS 17.5.1.  My tagging app is called Tag Editor and it is the latest paid version, 1.0.14.   The Sonos Apps are S2 and all the system software is up to date.  The music files are on a Synology NAS with more than enough storage space and throughput capability.  Almost everything is ripped from a CD using dBpoweramp in wave format.  On the NAS, all songs are in a folder structure with the genre, sub-genre (if needed), artist name, then album title and the songs are in the same order as on the CD; the filename is <song #><space> <song title>. I have spent a lot of time checking the tags on all 1,000+ albums and they are what I expect them to be; I have worked hard to eliminate all special characters since different platforms interpret these differently.  I have also eliminated all unnecessary tags

Hi,How can I configure some confirmation dialog, to prevent other users from stopping playback unintendently and replacing the whole queue with songs from the same artist or album, because their fingers were just a few pixels off from the “...” menu when trying to add a song. It is just so annoying.Regards

Why is there so much trouble connecting with SiriusXM lately?

On the iOS app new one released maybe may 2024, I get a delay when I change the volume. I might increase or decrease it, and nothing happens to the slider bar for maybe one second, then it responds. The old app was instantaneous in responsiveness. 

What seems a straight forward procedure is not achievable now. How do I correct this?
