Hi

I used to be able to create my own playlists, using some local library items and some Spotify items, for playing while we have people round.

Last time I tried, I could not see any mention of playlists in the new app.

Can anyone advise what the latest position is in terms of being able to create my own playlists as above?

Thanks

Use the Desktop app.

Thanks, I wasn't sure where to look.

Yeah, desktop fine, just not so handy if trying to go between playlists at a moment's notice. Appreciate your help.

If you have a PC you might also want to back the Sonos playlists up.

What does it backup? Just the titles etc?

Thanks for this

When you open Sonosaver and choose Backup it shows you a list of all your Sonos Playlists.  You check the boxes of the ones you wish to backup.  You can also tell Sonosaver where to back it up to or it will backup to a default folder.  What I did was create a folder called Sonos Backups then within that folder sub folders for each playlist.  Now when I open Sonosaver and choose Backup I check only one playlist and direct the backup to that single sub folder for that single playlist.  The reason for that is the file that is created by Sonosaver does not have a specific name related to the playlist backed up; All the Sonosaver files look the same.  So if you want you could backup all the playlists at once by checking them anll and a single file will be created and stored in the default Sonosaver folder.

If Sonos looses your playlist(s), for some reason, they can be restored using Sonosaver.  You choose Restore then browse to the file you want to restore ( either the default Sonosaver location or whenever you chose to put the Sonosaver file for that playlist(s) ).  After the restore they will show back in the Sonos app provided Sonos doesn’t block that ability in the future.

I also have explored the Phonos Plus IOS app for backing up Sonos Playlists, but that requires you to get the file from your phone to your PC.  Not a brain killer.  I just think Sonosaver is easier.
