I know it’s down to myTuner and the stupid court decision that we cannot access radio stations from abroad anymore. But please add a way that one can play these radio stations through Sonos. Else the whole system is useless for me and many others.
Hi, I have had this problem since before the recent Update. All my devices are S2 compatible. But using the older ones (Play:1) its extremely laggy. Moving the volume slider doesn't do anything for 5-10 seconds, pausing or playing the same. I downgraded all my devices to S1 and it's working perfectly fine. So I suspect my Network is fine. the problem is: The S1 doesn't seem to get any attention anymore. Trueaudio doesn't work, it's buggy. So using the more recent software seems to be the way to go. I reset one of my Play:1 to try it with the new app. It’s a wired connection for now. But I am experiencing the same problems. I sent a Diagnostic Info with the number **********. So if anyone from Sonos is reading please check if you can find anything that is causing this in my system. I have tried everything on the support pages (i.e. changing the Wifi Channel….). Thanks!Moderator edit: Diagnostics number recorded and removed (identifying information)
Alright, July 22 app update just dropped.I took the risk of updating so you don’t have to 🙃🤣 So far so good, it opened on first try. Will update. Is it working for you?Samsung Android users are you back to a working app? iOS release notes Added setup, configuration, and search for local Music Library Improved account settings for Sonos Pro subscribers Added line-in autoplay and compression settings Improved accessibility in Settings Improved notification for player firmware updates Improved Sub audio settings with Amp ETA THE GOOD :local library search is working Configuration and set up for local libraries is there but I’m not testing it as it’s working for me and I don’t want to tempt fate Line in auto play seems to be working. Sub audio has phase control and crossover frequency. I haven’t tested if they actually do anything but hopefully working as expected.***Loading way quicker on my network, ~2.5 seconds after a force close for Recently played, sonos favourites etc to populate.
I refer you toi the forum for volumes of details about this complete breakdown of the SONOS products through gross negligence.
when will Mute be added back to the app. i miss it and need it back. I use iOS and android.
I have a failing S1 system. I have made the decision to upgrade to S2 (or whatever it is called now). Not knowing that my Spotify playlists would have to be “public” to edit (or maybe transport?), most of them are private since I didn’t know that was a thing. I have over 84 playlists totaling multiple thousands of songs. (I’ve had S1 since 2009.) Please tell me that my playlists will come with me when I update even if they are private on Spotify. I guess you can tell me even if they won’t. But if that is the case, I am switching to Denon since I’ll have to make them all over again anyway...Doubt I’ll live that long. Thanks for your help.Moderator edit: changed Sonos One and Sonos Two to S1 and S2 respectively, for clarity.
In the past, functional version of the Sonos app(s):There was an option in the settings menu to enable UPNP functionality. After this was enabled, the UPNP servers on the local network should show up in the Music Source area.I had turned this on in the past to browse UPnP Libraries that I keep online but don’t merge into my main listening library. They are handy to have when the mode suits us (think Christmas music). I could queue music from these shares indirectly by adding items to my Sonos favorites. The current versions of the apps do not have this enable/disable setting/feature anymore. Though, because I enabled this in the past, the Windows app still ‘supports’ this. I just turned on an old NAS (you guessed it, with my Christmas collection) with a UPnP service running and it shows up in the Music Source list. I know with all the rest that is going on in the Sonos mess this one may not be way up there in the need to fix list but it is a handy feature, so I just wanted to get it out
Hi @Corry P / @Jamie A / @Sotiris C., so many issues with the new app and so many threads, that I don't know if this one has been discussed yet, so I would like to report it to be sure it’s on the backlog:On Amazon Music I can search for an Artist and see their Top Songs folder, but there's no option to play these songs. If I click on one of these songs it plays only this one and stops. In 16.1 and before I was able to play all songs on the Artist Top Songs, being also able to toggle shuffle and repeat. Could you add this to the bug backlog, please? Thanks
With the inability of the new Sonos upgrade to easily play my Music Library I found a way to access my Music using my iTunes organization, Songs, Imported Folders, etc. I now use my iPhone where I stored ALL my Music. A lot easier to access my Music than the mess Sonos recently made. I have a iPhone 15 with over 18,000 songs, using a good portion of my 512 GB’s.
After updating to the latest version the other day, I was able to get a bunch of features (like searching the music library) back which was great and I followed the notes to add my music library from an external drive. It finally worked!Unfortunately, when I added a few dozen more albums today and tried updating the music library it started looking for the regular Music folder on my iMac instead of the external folder that was where the music library was listed. With all of the struggles with the app I know I probably should have just let it go w/o the update, but I thought “maybe if I remove the music library and start over it will grab the new additions?”Of course, now I have no music library at all… It keeps looking for the regular Music folder. Anybody have any ideas how to get it to look for the external drive again? I’ve retraced the previous steps, but it just won’t stop looking for the regular Music folder
I thought it couldn’t get any worse. No fast scroll, no album art, no search. You’ve basically destroyed use of my music library. Now I want to listen to an album called “Trance Europe Express” that I’ve filed under the Album Artist “Trance Europe Express” because it’s a series of compilations and I get this track 9, 3, 2, 10 etc. This is on both the Android app and Windows desktop. After playing this mess the Android app just crashes cyclically now. What else might suffer from the same thing? DJ Paul Oakenfold, filed under Album Artist Paul Oakenfold, lots of different artists. Yep, worked for years but now junked. Thousands of pounds worth of equipment now no more than scrap.Apologies if someone else has pointed this out but a search of topics didn’t immediately show anything obvious.I don’t expect anything other than corporate platitudes so really don’t bother. Do better.
The songs played on the SONOS speaker cannot be displayed synchronously on the SONOS client. The delay is very severe. Please solve it as soon as possible!
This new app is a complete disaster. Sonos had become part of my music experience; I’ve been using it for almost 10 years, and I’ve figured ways to move between music services, manage playlists, explore artists, queue up songs. This new update has removed at least 10 feature that I’ve noticed in the last week, and I imagine it will take forever to fix. Can I go back to the old app? I feel silly threatening to stop using Sonos, but this will seriously put me in Bluetooth mode, which is the first step. I mean it’s so bad. Why was this a good idea?
Recently with the new app I have to go into the app to control the music. Used to have a quick way to do it with a drop down from the notification bar. How get back?
when turning up the volume sliders in the app, the sliders are not responding properly, when I slide to increase the volume slider will move up and then back on it’s on. also there is a big delay when hitting the play buttons as well as pausing a track.
Since the new app update this month, the Pandora play modes (e.g. Deep Cuts, Discovery, etc) is not visible. Anyone know how to set that in Sonos, or did they eliminate it???
I have contacted your support several times since may when you launched the new app version.Every time i get a real polite answer. We are working on this and it will be fixed en a couple of week. Now many “couple of weeks” have passed and absolutely nothing has been fixed. Actually ten “10” weeks.I still haven’t access to my music library (my primary source), cannot add to my playlists from other sources than Sonos own. it is a scandal and you (Sonos) have failed your customers to that extent. It's a mockery. I am now actively looking for a replacement for my Sonos, I simply have to have a more stable and reliable system.
Hi @Corry P / @Jamie A / @Sotiris C., so many issues with the new app and so many threads, that I don't know if this one has been discussed yet, so I would like to report it to be sure it’s on the backlog:I use Amazon Music and I listen mostly to their Stations. When I play an Album from Amazon Music or Live Station from Sonos Radio they correctly appear on the Recently Played. But, when I play an Amazon Music Station, it doesn't.In 16.1 and before it always appeared. Could you add it to the bug backlog, please? Thanks
I’ve just upgraded to the latest version of the Sonos app, v80.05.04, but now I can play any content services!I have 3 services connected including Deezer and BBC sounds, and I can search and select music or radio channels but whenever I actually try to select and play something from Deezer I get an error “something went wrong try again” but it never works. Rafal
Have you considered getting people who actually enjoy listening to music to develop the app? It might be better if it was developed by individuals who actually enjoy listening to music and use the app.
I am aware of four articles so far about the epic failure of the new Sonos app:https://www.theverge.com/2024/5/14/24156703/sonos-app-redesign-new-ama-complaintshttps://www.theverge.com/2024/5/9/24152675/sonos-new-app-bad-reviews-response-statementhttps://www.wired.com/story/people-do-not-like-the-new-sonos-app/https://www.forbes.com/sites/jonathanreichental/2024/05/09/4-lessons-from-sonos-app-upgrade-fiasco/?sh=3fc057d656ad Anyone aware of any others?
When I google “worst app update of 2024”, you are the top hit in every country I have a VPN exit node for!It takes a very special kind of development effort and truly remarkable leadership for a consumer electronics manufacturer to achieve the coveted global #1 spot for any search, let alone one that is software related. SEO specialists around the world are jealous - well done.
Is there still a sleep timer? If so, where?thanks
So somehow playing music from iOS Music (and Classical) app through iPhone built-in speakers is giving you an “Atmos” playback experience but playing it through AirPlay on a Sonos Arc and 2 x Era 300 rear speaker array is giving you Lossless?
Odd one here. I create a new album every year from Proms concert mp3s and store them in an album named “Proms (yyyy)”.Time was when I clicked on the album name when I searched for “Proms” under albums it would list all the tracks. Now on all those albums I get no songs (tracks listed). I can find them if I search the track individually and they play. I am getting this on the Mac controller, iPhone app and Sonophone app too. But other albums I’ve recently ripped eg “This is where I came in” by the Bee Gees shows the tracks fine if I search via albums and then click that one Really odd Any ideas gratefully explored!
