A thread here, “Show the Composer tag on the Now Playing screen,” started 11 years ago and was closed 4 years ago. Scores of users pleaded for composer information, essential for classical music and other genres, but Sonos didn’t add Composer to the Now Playing screen and afaik didn’t respond.I’m making the same request but for related Sonos controller screens: track lists (like album listings or Queue) and Song Info. For example, here’s a screenshot of the Song Info for a track on a classical compilation album. The composer, Stravinsky, isn’t shown anywhere in Sonos but the information is stored in the library: if I go to Composers and choose Stravinsky this album and track are listed. The only way I’m currently able to identify composers on compilation albums in Sonos is to go back to iTunes or dig out the CDs I have boxed in a closet. The need to do either is absurd. If someone at Sonos reads this, please pass it along to the development team. It is not a niche issue!
Will you please just revert to the previous app until you've cleaned up your mess? Is nobody in charge over there?*Moderator Note: Modified subject in accordance with the Community Code of Conduct.*
Looked at my Sonos on the 16 July 2024 and noticed an update for my system (Sonos OS: S2).Is it worth updating, as my previous experience was dismal and disappointing and we all know how that May update went. What has been peoples experience with the July update??
You say that the ability to play locally stored music will be restored in July. It is 21st July now. How long do we have to wait. Why was the new app released before this really important functionality had been implemented.
I’ve used and loved Sonos products for years, but the changes in the system over the past couple of months are terrible. The functions on the controllers are super slow, some features no longer work, and I thought I’d check out the site and see if there’s anything I’m doing that’s wrong, but everyone else is frustrated too. I have way too much invested to jump ship, so I’m going to wait for the updates. I’m just really disappointed that a company that was so innovative and had wonderfully functioning software has dropped the ball.
Since the terrible app update, if I select ‘top tracks’ for a specific artist and press play, it stops after the first track and I have to select each one individually. Does anyone know of a solution so that they play through the list like they used to? Whilst not flawless, the app used to be intuitive and easy to use but now it’s the opposite…
Is there any way of rolling back to the previous app version, the new one is almost unusable, searching editing playlists. I am no just using Spotify and playing through speakers. Any suggestions or thoughts Sonos are not really responding to the community on any updates - or are they?
I would like to know what happened here. Playing on my Sonos system last night. App is playing in wrong rooms and arbitrarily skipping songs. I have a large system play bass ,sub ones or twos .move and honestly not an inexpensive system. embarrassing entertaining and people can’t listen to what they want to listen .to you guys need to fix the problem here . Where’ s your quality controller in development? Don’t you check these things before rollout? When will there be a fix?
FYI this article says next update not until July 22. The article also has info on what’s coming in August. Sonos will reintroduce some basic features in its new app next week, including the ability to configure local music libraries. Those features were already in Sonos' old app, but were missing from the new mobile application the audio manufacturer released in May.Sonos will release the update for its new app on July 22, the manufacturer tells Tweakers. The biggest changes are in support for local music libraries. For example, the 'settings and configuration' of such libraries are now available via the mobile app. It is now also possible to search local music libraries in the app.Rest of the article here:https://tweakers.net/nieuws/224472/sonos-maakt-het-weer-mogelijk-om-lokale-muziekbibliotheken-in-te-stellen-via-app.html
I have the latest app, July 3rd, it's still total rubbish, it simply does not function, I love my speakers but hate the app, it has totally ruined my enjoyment of music in my house, if it fades out out another track I'm listening to randomly the fades back in one speaker, then goes off again, etc, I swear I will throw the f..ING speakers out of the window. It's so slow it is unusable even if the bloody music does come on. IT DOES NOT WORK!
As lots of people know Tidal ditching MQA and moving whole library to FLAC ( finally) is that mean that we will finally enjoy Tidal in high res? Also they moving to dolby atmos and getting rid off Sony's 360. Anyone have more info about this?
I was very unhappy with the last update to the app because of the missing features already mentioned by everyone. Now the app is completely dead. I have tried usual fixes such as rebooting my router, all connected devices, looking for updates to Android and Sonos, but the app will not open. Instead it appears momentarily and gives an error message. The app does not work on my Samsung tablet either. My only access to Sonos has become my laptop computer. I have invested thousands in Sonos products and am looking for other options. What are comparable products I can use to stream my home music library?
I reverted the app last time since I could not play my playlists on SoundCloud. Does anyone know if recent changes fixed this? If I cant use SoundCloud then all that money I spent on these 18 speakers was wasted. That is 95% of the way I use the app.
I’m unable to add Qobuz as a service to Sonos. It fails in the new app and desktop app. No error code just says unable to add.Anyone else having this issue or anyone able to add Qobuz to sonos recently?
When I have attempted to connect my Sonos account to the Jazzed service, the following error message gets returned: Invalid parameter: redirect_uriHas anyone else encountered this issue and, if you did, what did you do to work around it?
With Tidal, the “Artist Radio” hasn't been working since the software update. It now only shows a Playlist of songs, but no way of playing them, short of clicking on each individual song. And then it only plays that song and nothing else. Please help.
I updated the crAPP earlier this morning (Android). No meaningful release notes in the Play Store. Turns out it did restore the alarms section but also required an update of my whole system (goodness knows why). After restarting the crAPP once or twice I eventually had my alarm functionality back. I could not see any other changes. This is positive, although I have lost all and total faith in the SONOS developers and management and fully expect this new update to have broken something else.I don’t know if the iOS crAPP has been updated the same?
Sonos have chosen to “leak” the details of this update to a third party and published a teaser that suggested we would see a major update this week but, as has become normal, have failed to communicate what is happening directly to the users most impacted. All of this goes to prove, to me at least, that Sonos does not care about me the user and my investment in their technology. We are now in the 11th week and Sonos still cannot get their act together and communicate properly.

When will these (and other similar examples) work within the new web app instead of having to go to their homepage to airplay to Sonos? ...or cast to poorer-sounding alternatives like Google Home?If Mac and Windows controlling are on the way out (maintenance mode) then the web app needs to shine and there is plenty of space for improvement ...including different background colors (for once). ...or is this geek doing something wrong? Recently started having issues with playing music from Apple Music via the Sonos App. Here are steps I’ve already taken to no avail.tried removing Apple Music connection and reconnecting the service.Deleting the Sonos App and reinstallingUsing Alexa voice control will play random music from Apple Music on Sonos, but when I ask to play specific music genres/titles, returns an error saying song cannot be found. any suggestions on how I can troubleshoot?TIA
I should have followed my own advice closer. Yesterday I noticed steaming services were getting blocked if you hadn't updated. There was no way to manage the services in the old app without updating. And once you updated the app it required a system update. So in the course of trying to get SiriusXM removed and re-added I inadvertently allowed a system update to push down. And just like I warned others, the system update blocked access for the old app to control the system. And not just from the device I was using at the time - any device running the old version displays an error in the banner stating this version of the application can no longer control the system. Can't roll back system update that I'm aware of so now I'm stuck with very limited capabilites in the new app. They just hate customers so badly they are going out of their way to force the new app on us.
I sent this to the BBC at the beginning of July:YOUR ENQUIRY:Feedback Summary - Sounds stopped working Feedback Description - Up 'til 23/6 BBC Sounds was working through my SONOS system but it abruptly stopped and all attempts to access it since have failed. I can listen to R4 via the MyTuner addon to my SONOS controller. I have tried uninstalling BBC Sounds on SONOS but when I try to reinstall and connect I getCheck your network connectionThere was a problem getting started. Please check your network connection, then try again. This persists. They replied with generic system advice and suggested getting in touch with Sonos if this didn’t work. I tried various things and described the results:Hi,I have tried the advice in the last reply you sent but, as I thought, it didn't help.I am convinced that it is a problem with the BBC Sounds App on SONOS and not my equipment or setup because:1. It was working well and then suddenly it stopped as I previously reported. 2. I was talking to a fri
I was just wondering if (when streaming music through spotify on sonos), the spotify statistics are recorded. For example, if they contribute to spotify wrapped and if they contribute music recommendations. The reason I’m asking is because i listen to A LOT of music and find a good majority of it through my spotify recommendations but i feel like it’s been off lately which is probably because i play music 90% of the time through sonos.I should also mention that i play music through the spotify app and just uses the speaker as the device. It sounds dramatic but it’s honestly a deal breaker for me.Oh similarly, does anyone know the answer to this question but for amazon speakers (like an amazon dot)
My husbands app on his iPhone is not finding our two Sonos speakers but they work fine on my phone. How do I get him connected?
Hello, I’ve been a loyal Sonos user since 2013, and have several products in my home: Play:1, Play:3, Era 100, One SL, Move & MoveI rely heavily on the feature in the iOS app that allows me to disable the touch controls on each speaker, my kids each have one in their room for audiobooks, and we turn it off when they ought to be in bed / doing homework, etc. but in the new iOS app that feature is gone on all but the One SL!Now to ensure they’re not used, I need to physical unplug the speakers and remove them from the room, a big hassle!I have a few other minor complains about the new app: it’s more work to get to an overview where I can see what’s playing in all the rooms; and I’ve experienced several instances where speakers vanish/reappear, or don’t play when I try to start music.Would love to be able to roll back to an old version until these issues are addressed!
