Love the Sonos Radio Channels. How does one request new “Local Stations”.My pick is WLIR-FM (wlir.fm)Thank you!
Firstly, let me say the the sound quality is fantastic. But, the Sonos App literally has the worst search feature I have ever used. For a service that cost so much money, it is absolutely criminal that the search feature is so terrible. I have used both Spotify and Apple Music, and regardless of service you use, the Sonos platform is ***. No most popular songs, entire albums missing, mixtapes or compilations coming before important or famous albums, and just straight up not having the same search results as when you use the Apple Music or Spotify interface. I am THIS close to selling my Sonos system and getting something else. I am a fairly relaxed person, but HOLY COW does my blood pressure rise when I use the Sonos platform. DO BETTER! I PAID SO MUCH MONEY FOR YOUR PRODUCT. MAKE AN APP THAT IS ACTUALLY WORTH BUYING YOUR SPEAKER. PLEASE!
I’ve scoured the forum and still cannot find a clear answer to this. Most of the very interesting commentary is from pre-S2 threads about a year ago. I currently use Sonos Amp connected to Episode 8” outdoor ceiling mounted speakers. Sonos Amp is connected to the router via Cat6. So which is giving me better sound quality? Casting via Airplay from the Amazon Music HD app or running directly through the S2 app?I read the consensus from a year ago that casting from the Amazon HD app was not giving even CD quality and that you needed to use the Sonos App. But has S2 and firmware upgrades or upgrades to the integration between Sonos and Amazon Music HD changed anything? I cannot find any current info as to which app is better to run Amazon from. To my ears, casting via Airplay using the Amazon HD app sounds better. I really wish the S2 app would give an indication as to what quality it was streaming at. Thanks!
Having been a happy Sonos user for 15 years, I would like to suggest you pay more attention to the way the app fine-tunes the volume level in connected zones. It continues to be quite hard to control and after having set all connected zones and changing the level for the group, the relative individual levels seem to mess up again. A topic ready for thorough redesign in your next sprint. Thanks!
My Sonos app doesn’t run in my iPhone 11 Pro
Is there a way to output iPad Djay 3 to Sonos system?
Hello! I have got a issue in the last month. The app itself has a lots of bugs. Its slow and so on. And a few times everyday some of my speakers is gone??. But my girlfriend can still se them on her iphone? If a do a router reset it may work for some minutes but after a while its the same? Any solution for this or tips? // David
I’ve been a Sonos user for a long time now, and though I love the convenience, have also, for a long time, found myself missing the experience of browsing a physical collection, or even using the “tile” view in iTunes to queue up albums.I find the PC app, (and also the mobile apps) quite restrictive in how I can view and sort my collection. In iTunes, I could use the “tile” view to see the cover of many albums at once and scroll through until I found something I wanted to listen to - since moving to an Android phone, I use MusicBee to do a similar job. To browse albums on Sonos’ software shows around 10 albums at once, and the artwork is quite small, and is fixed that way. This is slightly better on a tablet, but still not as good as iTunes/MusicBee. I know it’s possible to to browse by genre too, but by default that seems to browse via artist, not album. It also means that each album can only belong to a single category, so couldn’t, for example, be a part of a list of “Hip Hop” album
I have a Motorola Z3 Play mobile that has just had a new motherboard fitted as part of a repair. Since then the Sonos S1 App works for a few hours but then keeps closing. I have to uninstall and reinstall daily.Other apps working fine.
I have multiple Sonos accounts (home, office, condo) and would like to have an app for each on my iPhone rather than logging out and then logging in to a different account each time I change locations. Can I put more than one Sonos app on my iPhone and name them differently?
I have 2 x play 3 set up in stereo that I bought to listen to MY music. When I first bought them I could listen via the ‘on my device’ app. That went, but then I found google play as a free service, now that’s going, I transferred my music to Youtube Music. Even though it’s a free service, it won’t work through SONOS app without a subscription!!! (which I refuse to purchase). Question: Is there any way I can still listen to my music without a subscription service or are my SONOS speakers now paper weights? Cheers.Note: airplay won’t work with play 3
If I have Spotify playing on one of my bases in my house I cannot play it separately on my phone while I workout? I put on sleep music for my newborn in his room then try to play something to workout to on my phone through my beats and it pauses my sons music. Is there a way to do both?
Hello, The Sonos mini controller window won’t appear on my Mac. I started having trouble prior to the recent update to 11.1/56076060, perhaps a couple of months ago. I waited, before reporting the problem, to see if an update to the Sonos controller fixed the problem, and the update to 11.1 I performed yesterday did not fix it. I don’t know if the problem occurred due to a macOS update or a Sonos controller update. I am running macOS Catalina version 10.15.4/19E287. Please advise. Thanks! Donald
Can downloaded mp3 files be placed on the SONOS S1 iMac controller music library, adding song name and artist ?
When I play music through my iPhone using the Apple Music app, I’m supposed to click the airplay icon to change over to my sonos speaker. The speaker however doesn’t show as an option. The only way I can do it is by opening the Sonos app and starting my music search again. Any tips on how to make it visible?
An issue started recently, where I am unable to start music in my bedroom from the Sonos app, until I move to the living area where the phone is near the speaker which is wired. I have an Orbi mesh system, and have solid coverage throughout the house, and have one speaker wired so I am using the SonosNet network. One interesting thing I am seeing in my bedroom, is that the stereo pair of One’s I have are each on a different frequency (2.4 and 5g). I am not sure this has anything to do with the issue I am having, but just noticed.I am looking for help as to how I can start music from any room I am in, without having to move back to the main living area to start.
Hello, i am considering buying the Akai midi controller and can connect it to a mac. Can the play1 system be used like regular speakers/monitors to play without headphones (through a daw of course) thank you
With YouTube Music now replacing Google Play Music, I’m left with several issues that have not been resolved:Google-based Podcast support is not included in YouTube Music and there is no support for Google Podcasts yet. Is Google Podcast service support planned or will YouTube Music add Podcast support similar to that in the former Google Play Music? The Explore interface from the YouTube Music app doesn’t seem to be replicated within the Sonos interface, so there does not appear to be any way to Explore (Browse Stations under Google Play Music) by Mood/Activity/etc. and no way to easily access the large variety of curated Radio Stations/Dynamic Playlists/etc. that are available through the Explore pane. The current Sonos-based YouTube Music links under Home are very limited and do not have nearly the range of stuff available on the App. Example, I browse the YTMusic App(Android/Windows/Mac/etc.), navigate to Explore, select Moods/Genres, Genres, Jazz and see options such as Big Band B
I understand how you can click on a link to an HLS stream from an Android phone, but I don't understand how you enter that address into the Sonos app to play over the Sonos speaker system. The only option to cast available on my phone is to my Sony Bravia TV as it doesn't identify the Sonos as an option. Can anyone tell me how to do this?Mark
Here’s a wild idea : I have three wireless Sonos speakers, one in the office where I’m at, one in an adjoining bedroom and a third in an adjoining bathroom.I’m in the office - I’d like to flip a switch on my Sonos app and using my phone’s microphone make a rough approximation to balance the volume across those three speakers. Now if you want to get really crazy, I’d like to have the volume continue to adjust regardless of where I take my phone until I turn it off.
Bought these to play music on from my iPhone in my home yet a year later you claim there’s a technical problem with the iOS system or some other s***** s* yet my phone can play music on every make model and brand of car I rent at the airport when on vacation but I can’t play my iPhone list of music on $400 worth of two Sonos speakers in my house, I don’t know who got greedy about what but they are getting thrown in a garbage I won’t do someone else a disservice of giving them some thing that is worthless. *Moderator Note: Modified in accordance with the community guidelines.*
So frustrated to discover that now that itunes is gone I can’t use Sonos to access podcasts via the ios podcast app. I understand there are other podcast apps but I can’t seem to get any that work with my paid subscription podcast as easily as the ios one. What the hell Sonos?!?
Help! I've used my phone's volume controls for Sonos since I started using it about four years ago. Now the functionality has disappeared. I've not changed any settings. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the Sonos app.I don't even see Sonos on my lockscreen any more.Anyone aware of an issue or is it a Google update messing with things?
I recently bought a cheap system for my garage, significantly cheaper than Sonos 5.1 system. That cheap system really surprised me. It has Chromecast and Airplay. Yes, Chromecast and Airplay. Now I start wondering why I spent so much more money on Sonos system, and Sonos doesn't even support Chromecast. I think it is time for me to ditch the Sonos, due to its lack of Chromecast. SONOS, please add Chromecast asap, otherwise you will loose many existing customers and future customers.
I finally upgraded to S2. We have a Beam a new One and old Three. I’m finding connection is slower than it was. On Spotify, songs skip or are cut off and the iPad app sometimes shows something different to what is playing. Really unimpressed. I’ve deleted the app and tried again but similar story. Any thoughts anyone?
