Controllers and Music services

Since version 12.1 (60381140) of the iOS S2 app, on fresh starts (initial run, after force quit or idle eviction) I’ve been prompted to ‘Add a voice assistant’ every time. I never want to set up either of the options available, and would very much like to not have to dismiss the prompt randomly.

I recently purchased the Sonos app 2nd edition  to play music on my patio speakers.  Unfortunately the amp can only work with the S1 app while everything else I had works on the S2 app.  I’m guessing due to this and not wanting to spend the money for the upgrade, I need to have everyone back on the S1 app.  Anyone know what I need to do to do this?  Do I have to delete the Sonos S2 app and add all of my products to the S1?  Any help would be greatly appreciated!  

I have two play one’s, play 3, beam and an Ikea speaker. I’m Sonos from the begging and thought it was great until S2.I had a bridge (as that came packaged with Sonos early days) and when I migrated to S2 and completed the compatibility test the bridge was the only thing not compatible. Not wanting to spend another £99 and having a £200 dual band router i removed the old bridge. I had lots of problems with the S2 app not see the devices, read the support articles and setup a dedicated “sonos” network on my router on 2.4 and connected the units through that. I’m so frustrated with the whole inconsistency of my setup now Ive had enough of it. The app will randomly show me all my system then the next time it will be minus the Beam. The two play ones I use for surround rears disconnect themselves. I have re-added more then twice now and i got up today and the left speaker had reverted to its old standalone config before i paired them up?I understand the need to move forwar

I like to listen to radio planeta from spain from my sonos in the UK. Its stopped playing along with other stations. Any idea why?

We have two Sonos setups, one in our apartment/office and one in our farm-house. Both sites are connected with VPN and use different IP-networks (192.168.17.0/24 for apartment and 192.168.16.0/24 for the farm).Since the Controller application or iOS apps are connecting to the last known IP, we have firewall rules blocking the Sonos-devices from sending traffic in the VPN tunnel so the iOS app will be slow to start when moving between sites since it is scanning the local network. This has been working for years.Now after the 12.1 update we have noticed that the Music Library settings are the same at both sites, leading to problems for us since the NAS:es at each site are not reachable due to the firewall in the VPN. Both system list the NAS in the 192.168.16.0 network when before 12.1 they listed the local NAS. I have tried removing the Music library setting and re-adding at each site, but the setting shows up at each site leading me to think it travels now with the iOS

As the topic states, this started happening recently and it is completely unwanted and IMHO inappropriate.   Anyone else having a problem with this on the current Sonos controller (both MacOS and iOS)?   

I have just been advised by Google that the Google Play Music service will be suspended later this year and replaced by YouTube Music.  Their advice is to transfer my Google Play Music library to YouTube Music, and they have provided tools to do so. My question is this. My current Google Play Music subscription is a free one, providing storage for a 50k song library which I can access directly through my Sonos systems.  Sonos only currently provides YouTube Music access to Premium (chargeable) accounts.  So with this change, will Sonos extend its support to free YouTube Music account holders?  

How come Sonos takes away a feature that came WITH the product??? And without even asking their fellow consumers!!! We are the ones who buy their products!!! It’s been months since i can’t play my Itunes music. If i can’t play my music on a Sonos speakers, why would I buy it?PUT IT BACK.

I’ve been using Tune In via my Sonos app and software for many years now with much success. I’m currently using the Sonos S1 Controller on my laptop and the app on my Samsung S8 Android phone. Most of the Tune In stations work fine but when I went to listen to the Auburn Football pregame show this past Saturday afternoon on Tune In via  the Sonos S1 Controller or app I got a message that said - Auburn Football and below that - Auburn University - AUSN Identifier 1. This is the first time I haven’t been able to listen to the Auburn pregame show using Sonos and Tune In so I was surprised. For the most part any other Tune In station on Sonos worked perfectly fine. I deleted the Auburn Network on Tune In and added Auburn Football back but no luck. I’m still getting the same message and no audio - Auburn University - AUSN Identifier 1. Can you please help me to resolve this issue? Thanks very much.

Can night mode to be schedulled? Same like on the mobile phones.

Hi,So, it seems that that many of my saved stations are (now) geo-locked. Can anybody then recommend a service that is not geo locked? The main reason that I bought the Sonos product is so that I can listen to these stations!

Migrating from S1 as Connect has died. Set up new Port no problem. Playing Spotify through my amp no problem. But can't connect My Play 1 or PlayBar which were part of the S1 system.  Tried to remove them from S1 controller but no luck.  Any ideas? Thank you.

Goededag,Wij hebben Sonos connect en meerdere  Sonos connect-amp via utp aangesloten.Omdat het wifi signaal niet sterk genoeg is in ons huis hebben we Wifi-versterkers geplaatst.Dit zijn de Tp-link M4 versterkers die via Ziggo kunnen worden aangeschaft.Als de wifiversterkers aan staan kan de App het Sonos systeem niet meer vinden. We hebben de versterkers dezelfde netwerk naam en wachtwoord gegeven. Kan dit opgelost worden met de wifi-versterkers aan? Mvg Ron

Hello, I know that the Sonos App displays a Dolby Atmos icon when my Arc is playing an Atmos Title but when it’s just 5.1, should I expect a Dolby 5.1 Icon? Thanks 

Hello. I’m new to Sonos. I’ve ordered two Sonos Ones and a full Arc entertainment set. They are coming the end of the week. I was wondering if there was any where that shows when software updates for these devices come out and release notes for them? Can’t seem to find anything. Thank you 😊 

Has anyone else had problems playing 181.fm radio stations. My stored favourites just don’t play anymore and don’t come up if I search.

I’m running a pure S1 system.  My 10.6 iMac controller says that there are updates available but I am not sure if it’s going to update to S2 and screw things up royally.  How can I tell if this is safe to do?  The components are all saying that they ar on 11.2.3 Build 57381090.

Hi...I have a playbar, couple of 5’s, couple of 3’s, couple of 1’s...since I installed the updated app, it randomly keeps crashing, even a minute or two after I used it...more often than not it’s default message is “unable to connect to system”. Its incredibly frustrating when all I want to do is adjust the volume, but then have to spend 15 mins re-booting the app, my phone, the system to perform a simple task. I’m nearly at the point where I’m ready to junk the whole damn lot and change to a different system, I never had these problems with the previous version of the app.I’m assuming I’m not the only one suffering these issues, so where’s the central support?the issues I regularly have is the “unable to connect, try again later” message. Its appearance is inconsistent and can be when i first use the system on any given day, a few seconds after previous use..to get it going again, any of the following may, or may not work, depending on what mood the thing appears to b

I can transfer my Spotify to my Sonos, but can you transfer a Sonos playlist to my Spotify??  and how??

I have a Samsung PN43F4500 tv. Recently we just got the Sonos playbar. Setup was simple as always. The only issue is the TV displays this (see attached pic) message and won’t go away for 8-10 seconds or by clicking ok. Is this a glitch? Any way around this? 

So now many of us are losing the ability to stream from Google Play, are Sonos looking to help their users find another free streaming service?I found iBroadcast but can see that a few years back conversations were happening between the companies, but what has happened?

Does anyone know how to access the lyrics for Apple Music via Sonos? On the Sonos website it clearly states that this is available, but I cannot find it anywhere.
