i am considering buying the Akai midi controller and can connect it to a mac. Can the play1 system be used like regular speakers/monitors to play without headphones (through a daw of course)

Sonos is not recommended for any live music sources, which I assume is what the midi controller will be used for, due to the 75ms delay in the audio path.
