Is there any way to use a port with no line-in? I thought I could hook one up to my studio monitors, so for example I could stream audio from my phone and hear it through the studio monitors. But it seems that with no line level input, the Sonos app does not offer it as a device.
I am looking for the best way to hook up my Fluance RT85 TurntableSony UBP-X800M2 (Blu Ray player that will be used for CDs)A Future Tape deckTo a Sonos port which will allow me to play those devices over my Arc/dual sub/duel Era 300 speaker system. Is there a preamp that will allow an HDMI input form the Blu Ray player?Any notable receivers that play nicely with the Port? Any advice would be appreciated The goal is to play vinyl, CD and Tapes over my Sonos theater system. No need to stream or do anything else. Just play old fashion media through my room without buying standalone speakers Thanks
Hi I’ve wired 4 Sonos in ceiling speakers back to my amp. These are brand new wires and no option to replace as buried in the house. I. Sound quality is poor. ‘Fuzzy’ and hollow and can’t take loud volumes. Are there settings on the amp that can address this? Could it be poor connections at the speakers or the amps?Any ideas? Thank you.
I have a s3and S5 gen1 I think and my bridge is suddenly showing no power 😭. What can I do to get my system up and running as bridge are now not available.
I have a Sonos Connect that keeps dropping off my system. The rest of the speakers keep playing music. It’ll drop anywhere between a few seconds to until the next song comes on. If I pause the song and play again, it comes back. When it’s out, the Connect doesn’t show up in the app (iPhone).I’ve tried power cycling the Connect and that seems to work for a day and then it’ll start again. It’s not a “reset your wifi router” issue because it is hardwired with ethernet. There is no IP addressing issue. Anyone have an idea?
Hello,Our Sonos system consist of 2 Boosts, 5 Connect Amp compatible with S2, 1 Amp and 1 Arc. The Connect Amps are distributed in the home while the Arc and Amp are in the living room connected to our television. Boosts are needed to extend the Sonos network.I recently realized that a part of our home internet network was not working. Some ethernet connections needed to be worked on. I had to make changes in the wiring and the connections.I suspect that part of my problems were created when adding a TP-Link Deco mesh system on my home network to have a better signal in all our home that is not ethernet wired entirely. So I played around with all the wires and cables of our internet and Sonos networks. When reconnecting everything, my Amp was not recognized anymore on my Sonos network and my Arc’s button were not responsive anymore. I don’t know if the 2 problems are caused by the same problem. So I tried very hard to have my Amp recognize by the network. I also tried resetting it
Good day everyone,Apologies if this is a common topic/issue, but its a bit of an odd one.So I have client at a restaurant that has had me in to do some work primarily with their POS ipads and receipt printers. While there, I setup a new ipad for their upstairs bar and asked me if it was possible to push different music up stairs than down as they sometimes do different events upstairs that require a different mood/soundtrack.I checked the site over and found they physically have 3 Amps onsite, one downstairs and two upstairs. According to what I saw on the Sonos Central app, they are called:DownstairsEvent Space 1Event Space 2They don’t appear to be grouped from what I could. So here is what I’ve done to test things out:-Client uses Spotify to stream music (paid account with 2 seats), in my test I used both the ipad for upstairs and downstairs.-I first opened the Sonos app on the downstairs which was already set to stream to downstairs and got one of their play lists going.-Next I open
We have a Huawei b535 4g router, uses a sim card, and our phones and pc can connect to the internet without problems. We can play our sonos musc on the phone over the play:3 speakers. But we cannot connect to Spotify and we cannot even enter the network menu in the settings. The error is "having trouble connecting to the internet". We have tried having the speaker connected with an ethernet connection and with wifi, no difference. We are using a 2.4 gh wifi with the mode set to b/g/n and a wpa/wpa2 security. Does anyone have any suggestions.
I have an Arc, LG TV, and surround setup via 2 Sonance in ceiling speakers along with a sub in our Family Room. When connecting to two Sonance in ceiling speakers in Kitchen the sound cuts in and out frequently. We do have 3 Sonos amps stored in a cupboard on top of each but I don’t assume that’s an issue given many people store their amps together. If anyone has any advice, please let me know. Thanks!
I am installing a few pairs of in ceiling Sonos speakers. Everything is working great but the speakers are not added to my product list. Is there a registration page to enter serial numbers? Thanks
my current system has the 1st gen play fives and sound-bar which use the Sonos 1 app which i use for my music.I want to purchase the Beam and some Era 100s which use the Sonos 2 app. can i have both systems on the network or will there be compatibility issues?
Have a question that so far Sonos support hasn’t been able to help me with. We have six rooms in the house with in-ceiling third party speakers powered by their own Sonos Amp (so six Sonos Amps). In addition we have two rooms with 5.1 surround sound driven by their respective Pioneer Elite VSX-LX105 Receivers (works with Sonos compatible) connected to Sonos Ports. If I want to use any of the Sonos Amps as a source for the rest of the house via grouping I have no problem having that music/sound playing through the two rooms with the Sonos Ports.HOWEVER, I want to be able to use either of the Pioneer Receivers (via the Sonos Ports) as a source to play through the Sonos Amps as well. So for example, if I was watching a game on one of the TVs connected to the Pioneer Receiver/Port and I wanted to also play that same game through the rest of the house via grouping. I haven’t been able to find a lot of specific documentation on the topic, but from what I have been able to find online this
Some of my connects will not play music
Whenever there is a loud sound during a movie (like an explosion) the volume suddenly turns way down and I cannot turn it back up. I have to turn off tv and turn back on to reset it. I have the TV plugged into sonos amp via HDMI and using sonance in wall speakers. Any suggestions?
My connect speaker stopped working and I cannot add it back to the system. Has blinking red light and will not clear with a factory reset. Sonos can’t see the connect box anymore WTH happened. My factory reset consists on powering on the connect box while holding the pause/forward button. Amber light comes on briefly, and then straight to flashing red.
We attempted to set up a SONOS port in a business application and with a veteran IT engineer, was not able to use any of 3 wi fi networks or an un-restricted Ethernet connection. Took the device home and spent roughly 2-3 hours on and off to set up the device, have it work for 20 seconds of a song, then pause the song and the connection crashes. Easy to see why the SONOS APP’s get between a 2.7 and 3.1 ration out of 5.0 scale
I recently bought a gen 1 sonos connect amp and after using it for a few weeks with 2 ceiling speakers I decided I needed a subwoofer. So I bought a Samsung wireless subwoofer and took it apart down to the speaker wire ports under the cover I then connected this to an rca adapter and plugged it into the sub output on my amp. I waited for a wile for it to show up and I also rebooted my system but no sub appeared on the app and the sub did not make any sound when playing music. Please help me make my sub work
Hi so I am trying to update my connect amp I have tried everything to do it moved my unit next to the router, hardwired, multiple phones, my computer, and reset it reset all my products and just tried to do that one item. even disconnected and tried an entirely new account and nothing at all just keeps giving me a 1013 error and will not do anything. I can't update it at all. Tried calling Sonos and they had no help really.
I have a new 5.1 Sonos surround setup that I am looking to connect an existing non Sonos 2.1 PC speaker setup I have in my office. These speakers (Corsair SP 2500) are powered but not connected to an outside amp or receiver. Everything I see about the port discusses connection to a receiver or amp. I am wondering if the port will enable my existing speakers to tie into my Sonos setup?
Hi, I am having problems with my Sono’s system dropping speakers and stop playing music unexpectedly so I purchased a new Sono’s Boost. The instructions didn’t work at all. After plugging the Boost into the Ubiquiti Amplifi system the Sonos app couldn’t find it. I called tech support and got a person that I could barely understand. He walked me through rebooting the router, rebooting all 6 speakers, deleting and readding the sonos app, and factory resetting the boost. After over an hour on the phone I had to pause. I have reset the entire system at least 6 times now. Finally the Sonos app found the boost. When I went to add it there was a point it said to pressing the flasing infinity light on the Boost. The problem was the light would never flash. After pressing it anyway, the app went into an error 800. It tried unsuccessfully to update the boost. It never got it added and somehow I ended up losing 3 of the speakers from the system. I have a main router from AT&T del
I have a vintage JVC amp in the following configuration: Audio Technica AT-LP3 turntable JVC AX-1 amplifier Marantz CD-63 cd player Wharfedale Diamond 220 speakersThis set up is in one room, along with a Sonos Port. A Sonos Era:100 is located in another room, at the other end of the house.I don’t have a manual for the amplifier, but do have a vague recollection concerning a difference between Tape-1 and Tape-2 (an image shows the amp’s connections) -- I have read some posts here and elsewhere that recommend using the tape out/record sockets to connect a vintage amplier to a Sonos Port.So far, I have had mixed results integrating the Port and the Era with this set-up.When the Era in the kitchen is playing Radio 4 via the BBC Sounds app, I can send the signal to the Port and the signal plays in both rooms. However, sending audio the other way is proving to be a bit trickier. After much fiddling/tapping on the app and experimenting with RCA connections between ampliflier and Port, I have s
I have a Marantz nr1609 with a turntable and CD player. I have no traditional speakers. I have the Sonos Arc, 2 Sonos Gen3 subs and a pair of Sonos ones as my rear surrounds. I will replace the rears with eras at some point. I would like to play audio sources (CDs, Vinyl, and even AM/FM) hooked up to the receiver through the Sonos speakers and I fear I bought the wrong Sonos device. I have experimented with all sorts of hook ups and I am either very obtuse or I bought the wrong device (Port). Does anyone have this setup or similar and can you guide me to the proper hook up, if any? I have analog cables, I have a coax/digital cable and I have optical cables if needed. I searched and found many hooking up Sonos to tape monitor - which I dont have picture of back plane attached thanks for any advice If my receiver isn’t capable, what should I be looking for in a receiver to make this happen thanks in advance
Himy sonos system is 10 years old. It includes a pair of play5 speakers, a playbar, and a zone bridge and is operated with the s1 app. I have recently moved to a house where I am using starlink for internet access. The starlink router does not have an Ethernet port. is it possible to use my system without connecting the wifi router to the zonebridge with an Ethernet cable?
I have two KRK Rokit 4” monitors connected to a Sonos Amp as shown in the photo. I was thinking of adding a Sonos Mini base to get more base out of this configuration, but the Sonos mini base is wireless and I don’t believe would work with the Amp. I’m looking for recommendations to add a base speaker to this configuration, or some way to achieve more base.-Thanks
Sharing my experience with a Sonos Connect and my Netgear Orbi mesh network. TLDR: A wired ethernet connection from my Orbi router to the Sonos Connect S2 has made this connection stable, and overall more reliable. It appears there is an issue with the wifi connectivity from a Sonos Connect. Even when I have a wireless router in the same room (w/in 5’ of the Connect), the connection is unstable with many disconnects. Before hard-wireing the ethernet connection the status Network Matrix was not listing the Connect http://192.168.1.12:1400/support/review After hard-wiring the ethernet connection, the Network Matrix shows all components, but no information in the body of the grid - Is that normal?. Also, One row label is all red with the following info. What does that mean?DenRoot BridgeNoise Floor: -112, -106, -105OFDM ANI level: 9 P.S. Even the sad little Sonos Roam SL that is generally a pain in the arse to use seems to be happier now that the Connect is hard-wired ethernet.
