The condo i purchased has been hard wired with speakers throughout the entire two stories. Can i hook up my Sonos speaker to them?
After 2 calls at over an hour each with techs over the last 3 weeks, I'm at a loss here before I sell this and get a different brand. System was great for the 2 years etc I've used it. I'm decent with the app and understand how to get the amp to play and connect the speakers to the amp through it. I did an update on the S2 app about 3 weeks ago and then all hell broke lose. Even after the update I did yesterday 12-6-22 nothing is better. No soundI noticed the amp is 2.4ghz and speakers are 5ghz wifi on the Comcast app. This seems like a problem. We tried the wired ethernet approach and nothing happened. Like how could this not play after being hard wired to the router??The only time it worked was when I unplugged the amp, then unplugged the router, then plugged the amp back in. The speakers came back on and I thought I fixed it. Couple hours later, dead again. I keep doing all the system diagnostics and it can't find 2 speakers and still no sound. I'll try one last tech call but maybe
I have always hated that the using an Amp for a turntable would show up in the “Rooms” even though it is being used as a source and not a speaker — My way around this was to name it “zSOURCE-TURNTABLE” so it would drop to the bottom of the list of rooms to so all the speakers would show from top down and its name would also show that it is a source Prior to this new terrible App redesign - when I would choose “Line-In” as the music source it would at least show that it was playing the turntable — With new App it will not let me label the line in as Turntable — so playing Turntable only shows that it is playing “Line-in”
Hi!I’ve seen a Sonos connect on eBay. The seller is unsure whether it’s a gen 1 or gen 2, I’m after gen 2. I have some pictures, can anyone tell me which generation this is please? Moderator edit: removed serial number (which does not help in determining model)
Hello, am not a techie at all when it comes to sound stuff…I would like to connect a standalone CD/DVD player I have to a Play1-Play 3 system using Sonos 1.Is the Port module the solution to this? Is the audio signal going through basic RCA or can HDMI or other connections be used?Thx
I have Control4 and Sonos. It seems the interface has remained in “awful” state for far too long. The latest driver is 99 (2020)?!If Control4 and Sonos advertized support between the two platforms, they should deliver a decent experience. It is ridiculously limited and nothing seems to be happening.Does anyone know of a workaround, plans in the making, etc.?Thanks,
Currently, Integra, Onkyo, Sony & Pioneer have the “Works With Sonos” label. What does this really mean?Once a Sonos Port is integrated with these receivers, selecting the Room (and music) on the Sonos App that the receiver operates in will:Turn on the receiver Select the Sonos Port input Set the volume different than watching TV (generally much higher than TV, CD etc volume) You then use the Volume on your Sonos app to control volume (just like all other Sonos listening areas).Selecting all other sources like TV will return the volume back to a comfortable level. The receiver also eventually powers down automatically after use. That’s pretty cool. Some of these receivers can operate up to 3 Rooms in your home simultaneously (so long as their respective speaker’s wiring is run back to the receiver). Connecting an additional Port (Ports) to the receiver gives you those Room volume controls on the app (ie, Great Room, Bedroom, Patio). This eliminates the need for a $700 Sonos amp for
I have outdoor patio that is covered and outdoor shower. first, if I want 2 outdoor speakers for patio, it seems I need the amp. does the amp go INSIDE? or can it be outside? I assume amp needs power plug but I have that outside, curious if AMP works outside. second, if I also want to have music in an outside shower (this is near beach :) ) can I string a single outdoor speaker to the single amp that is being used for the other 2 speakers?? any suggestions ?
I just renovated my basement and installed 5 in ceiling speakers. These speakers are rated at 6 ohms and 80 watts each. I don't need these to be on separate zones, so I would rather not buy 2 separate Amps to power. I was thinking of using a Port with an aftermarket amp to power. These are only for music. I have an old Denon DN840 receiver, but don’t know if that would be sufficient to power. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.Regards!
I just purchased a new amp from sonos to replace one of my old ones. I am running S2 on my iPhone and wanted to know if I need to use the sonos removal app before I unplug the old sonos amp?If I could get the steps to install a new amp and remove an old one that would be much appreciated. Thanks,Michael Casorio
We’re trying to keep it simple and have an existing Sonos Soundbar which is great with our Samsung TV - the space isn’t large. The router is located in this room as well. The Patio is nearby and I’d like to add on 2 outdoor speakers with power - connect through wifi and make it a separate room on our Sonos account. Will this work? I feel like I don’t NEED an amp. Am I wrong?
There is plenty of feedback around the latest upgrade, which seemed to remove a lot of functionality that used to exist. Safe to say it’s awful. But, I won’t even harp on that any more. However, the fact that it was released is a travesty. I think that the best way to show unhappiness is to let the Apple (or Google) Store know that the app is terrible. Perhaps influencing the Sonos rating there may have more of a hope of preventing this sort of nonsense moving forward. Having existing users complain to Sonos directly seems to not really help, perhaps complaining in a forum where people might look if they want to users will change the culture that allowed this to happen. P.S. Seriously Sonos, give the user the ability to also remove Sonos Radio. Forcing that is just a constant annoyance as well.
Hi,I stupidly purchased an amp off Ebay. Brand new apparently. Have purchased many Sonos products in the past but this was my first Ebay purchase. The amp isn’t working and I was wondering you are able to tell me if the serial number is legit before i take further action.A101 1912CP 48-A6-B8-62-B6-D1-A Thank you very much.
Will the new Sonos amp with HDMI connected to a receiver HDMI input port play music through the Sonos app and as its own device??
Hi All is it worth downgrading my products to S1 so I can use the old app as the new one is crap and not working
My two Sonos Boost no longer show amont my system devices.I am using Sonos controller 2, have 3 Sonos:5, 4 more Sonos:1. Some of them are routinely disconnecting. That’s how I found out my two Bossy were offline. I updated the App and the system. Restarted everything (router, each speaker, Boost). Reset each Boost and reinstalled. No error message. But they simply won’t show in the list of my devices. when I check network for each speaker, it simply says « network not available », although it works (some of them never disconnect, so they are connected to the WiFi).Is it something with the software, or something I missed to keep using the Boost? It used to work with the older version of the App.Diagnostic confirmation ********** in case Sonos support is willing to help. No chat available in my country and hotline announces a 40 minutes waiting time…Moderator edit: Diagnostic number recorded and removed (identifying information)
Just hooked up a Sonos Amp with a couple Sonance architectural ceiling speakers. Sounds like absolute garbage. I had an am/fm alarm clock back in the 80’s that sounded better. What gives?
Updated to 80.00. Can’t connect to my system (1 Play:1 two Play:3 in stereo; Boost; iPhone 15; iPad pro). Resetted everything and reinstalling. Initially worked, but after a while couldn’t connect anymore. Very disappointed. My system can’t play now.
can i listen to sonos arc with sonos new headphones and also play sound with arc out load at the same time?
I have a new wireless modem and I am attempting to connect my Sonos s1 connect base bridge). I have repeatedly powered on off and the light just continues to flash. I have tried factory reset but same results.
Sonos speakers disappeared/lost connection with the latest iPhone update. our iphones cannot connect to any of our speakers anymore.
Updates Sonos app. Now I cannot isolate/control 2 roof top speakers. Control has now merged with out living room speaker system. Any ideas? Thank you
I keep getting ...unable to load some information is missing.… I click on it...but nothing… Any idea how to correct?
Hi Sonos Community, I really need some help here. I’m trying to set up my Sonos Port for my turntable but I’m not able to even set up the Sonos Port in the Sonos 2 app. Here’s what I have done: Put Sonos Port near router (right next to it) Tried connecting via Wifi and Ethernet, both does not work. Used 2 different devices (iPhones) too but nothing work Tried following troubleshoot to connect manually by keying in 8 digit pin + push the button Reset router Reset port I keep getting the same error saying “We’re having trouble finalising the connection to your Port.” Anyone facing the same issue? Customer service lines are at 130 minutes, this is crazy :(
My Sonos connect has been operating without any issue now no matter the audio source, the music is glitching like a scratched cd. I have tried changing my modem channel and the Sonos channel like the wifi interference advise but still no change.
