I just renovated my basement and installed 5 in ceiling speakers. These speakers are rated at 6 ohms and 80 watts each. I don't need these to be on separate zones, so I would rather not buy 2 separate Amps to power.
I was thinking of using a Port with an aftermarket amp to power. These are only for music. I have an old Denon DN840 receiver, but don’t know if that would be sufficient to power. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I bet your ceiling speakers are rated 80W maximum power and will be very loud with ~10W each. I can’t find specs on a Denon DN840; if it is a home theater receiver with 5 or more outputs it will very capably drive your ceiling speakers. If for some reason you don’t like the sound, you could get a new home theater amp later.
