Do I need sonos removal tool when running S2

I just purchased a new amp from sonos to replace one of my old ones.  I am running S2 on my iPhone and wanted to know if I need to use the sonos removal app before I unplug the old sonos amp?

If I could get the steps to install a new amp and remove an old one that would be much appreciated.

No need.  Just rename the old Amp so you can name the new one whatever the old was.  The old Amp will disappear from the app after a certain number of days of not detecting it.
