Connecting a CD/DVD player to Play 1-Play 3

Hello, am not a techie at all when it comes to sound stuff…

I would like to connect a standalone CD/DVD player I have to a Play1-Play 3 system using Sonos 1.

Is the Port module the solution to this? Is the audio signal going through basic RCA or can HDMI or other connections be used?
