I think the answer to the question that I am asking is “No” but just in case someone has found a solution, I wanted to ask anyway.I enjoy listening to college baseball on the weekends while I am doing chores and working outside. Is thee a way to connect my iPhone 16 Pro (as it plays my Varsity app) to my Sonos so I can listen throughout the house and my garage? Now, here is the hard part. I have the Gen 1 Sonos bridge.I really do not want to drop $500 on a new product from Sonos as my current system still works fine. Feel free to laugh at me and make fun of me but I am hoping someone has a solution. Thanks.
My Sonos Amp has been running well for several years. In about Feb 2026 two issues arose - that may or may not be related. The existing alarms after working flawlessly for years started to behave eratically, either not turning on at all or turning on and then off again well short of the preset time. I have deleted and recreated the alarms but this has not resolved this first issue. When streaming a radio station the output, (at various times seemingly at random), jumps back to where it was about 3 minutes earlier. (if I had to guess I would say the control of the buffer has become unstable) I have (a) restarted my NBN modem, (b) restarted my wifi router and (C) factory reset the Sonos Amp and readded it back to my system and recreated the alrams but these have not resolved this second issue. How do I resolve these? Any suggestions will be gratefully accepted.
I've disassembled my Sonos ZP90 ZonePlayer to replace some capacitors on the power board that I believe are preventing it from powering on. However, when I got inside and inspected the board more closely, I spotted a couple of things I'd like to get some advice on. The red circles show where some solder has bridged between some components. Is this intentional? Would this be enough to stop it working? Can anyone check their power board to see if they have the same? On the left, the three pins are for a TLV43 transistor. Thanks
I’ve been using Sonos amp with 2 speakers on my deck for several years and now it’s no longer working. Flashing white light. I unplugged amp, plugged it back in and pressed button on back until it turned green. I then entered the serial number from amp to the Sonos app and it said it was now connected again. When I tried playing music with deck speakers the white light started flashing again on the amp. HELP 😞
I followed the instruction on downgrading (Swedish version) and they are not entirely correct.https://support.sonos.com/sv-se/article/downgrade-a-sonos-product-to-s1For starters there are important aspects missing in the information. There are steps not described where you have to guess, the big one is the connect to wifi at the end. Am I supposed to do that or not? No info. Answer is yes, connect to wifi. Then there’s step 5 where I was supposed to “swipe away” a pop up window. That was not really possible on the iPad version. I tried many times swiping but the window would not go away. It had to be solved by going out of the application and in again. Then we have the step where a code from the Port is supposed to be entered. The design is complete disaster, see image. Almost completely transparent and numers 3, 6 and 9 almost unreachable. I mean come on, have you even tried yourself to follow these instructions and steps like a novice to confirm it’s correct and works? There’s “room fo
Hi, two of my Sonos One Gen 2 failed, one of the speakers powers on but sounds choppy when playing bass; upon opening it, capacitor C285 is broken. The second speaker doesn't power on and the area where capacitor C285 is located is burned, do you have any advice on values or something useful, knows if this is repairable?
I have a wired amp, Move, Move2, Era300 and Roam. All speakers are visible in the app. When I play music, I can play it on Move, Move2, Era300 and Roam but not on the AMP. I also tried playing something only on the AMP and then selecting more speakers and I can’t get all speakers to play. I have reset ever speaker, unplugged router, unplugged AMP. Sucks that this software and system has issues like this.
I have 3 amps. When I move them downstairs beside the wifi the app fails to see them. When they are in the living room the app sees them. When they are in the basement the eventually have a solid white led. Any ideas?
I am trying to connect my new UGREEN NAS to SONOS. After typing in the NAS path and folder the following message appears:The computer (path name)refused to let the SONOS product connect to it.How can I overcome this problem.Any help would be greatly appreciated.Rudolf
Dear all, I’ve recently purchased the second ERA 100 for better stereo imaging. If a single one blew me away, eventually, two will set it to stratosphere…Anyway, I am a vinyl afficionado and would like to listen to LPs. I also have a substantial CD collection that I don’t want to get rid of.I bought the Sonos line in adapter and it works perfectly for the CD. Concerning the Turntable, I have a an integrated amp (Advance Acoustics MAP 305 DA II) that has a line out. This means I am able to connect the Turntable and CD into the amp and feed the Sonos via the Line in adapter. So, instead of having to switch on the amp every time I want to listen to the above sources, I was thinking about a sort of an RCA hub to connect all the sources (phono pre-amp included) via the Sonos line in adapter to one of the 100s. I´ve seen some equipment online but I am quite unaware of any specific or reference quality model.Ultimately, I can buy another Sonos line in adapter and connect it to the other ERA 10
Hello forum, my 15+ year old Beolab 8000 speakers (active/built in amps) are still excellent as is the 10+ year old Sonos Connect (1st gen) - however, since I moved the system the BeoLabs are constantly switching on/off intermittently even though the Connect is not activated, This is a new phenomenon since a year or so. I checked cables (very simple RCA type, worked for many years), moving the Connect around and also that the plugs are firmly in their sockets - any ideas are highly appreciated.
HiI’m wondering, how do I get the Sonos Five to not go on standby on line in? The default behavior is that the Sonos stops playing within 30 seconds or so if it doesn’t detect a signal. However, getting out of standby takes a good 2-5 seconds. I’m using the Five pair as computer speakers and it is incredibly annoying to use them on video calls because the speaker keeps going on standby and I miss the first 2-3 seconds every time the other person talks. I’ve found that if I go to “Your Sources” → line-in → select Sonos Five, then it would avoid going on standby for longer, maybe an hour? But then it goes on standby again, and I have to do this again. How do I stop the speaker from going on standby? I want it to be always on so I never miss the first few seconds of audio whenever I play something. Thanks
YouTube and Spotify both use Opus (Vorbis container) as their main codec, using AAC (MP4/M4A container) as a lower quality fallback.YouTube also only offers it's Stable Volume feature in Opus, via DRC. The current situation means it cannot be passed through to Sonos and needs to be transcoded first. Please add Opus, it needs minimal decoding power, is much more modern than either mp3 or aac, and is not patent encumbered. This has been requested for years now, two examples: - https://en.community.sonos.com/controllers-and-music-services-229131/why-is-sonos-ignoring-opus-support-6888615- https://en.community.sonos.com/home-theater-229129/how-come-the-application-is-not-showing-me-the-opus-codec-6882697
The system has been mostly functional, but last night—of course, with a house full of people—it completely fell apart. The standard Sonos response was the predictable “it’s your network,” which is nonsense. It has never been my network. This is a small-business-grade enterprise system running security (including cameras and door entry), HVAC, lighting, and general Wi-Fi without a single issue. Sonos is the only thing that consistently struggles.I’m then told that multiple Port units need to be registered. Fine. I follow that path and immediately hit the requirement for precise location services to be enabled. For a wired streaming device. Completely unacceptable—but at this point I just want the system functional and don’t feel like sacrificing an entire weekend to troubleshooting. Even then, each unit takes multiple attempts before it finally registers. To make matters worse, the system only identifies devices by serial number, not by name or location. These units are installed across
Procured a used Amp. After factory reset and “system Add” no sound from Sonance ceiling speakers. Simple test setup shows music on the app but no sound.
Hello, I have my turntable connected to my Era 100 speakers through the official Sonos 3.5mm to USB-C adapter. The issue I have is it's doesn’t automatically detect and connect to the line in when I play music to it. If I disconnect and reconnect the USB part of the adapter, it detects it and switches to it like it should. Any ideas why it doesn't detect it automatically without reseating the adapter?
have 2 identical connect:amp, and 1 will not show up on the sonos app. help ??
Can I pair all the speakers in all of my zones to a single Amp?
I had been using the line-out RCA jacks of my S1 Sonos Connect (using fixed output setting) to drive into Tape 1 input jacks of a Luxman receiver, and all worked well. After a long hiatus (since last Christmas), I tried to send Christmas music from Sonos to the Luxman, and can barely hear the music - its coming across at a very low level, so much that turning the receiver volume up to 9 I can hear that the source is playing but I can’t hear it to listen to it.I’m wondering if there is someplace where I’ve accidentally specified “low level” when I need to get medium or high level signal out of the Sonos Connect? BTW, to test, I switched from the Tape 1 input on the receiver to the Tuner and the volume level was MUCH HIGHER.Anyone have any ideas on what I should do to get a higher level signal over to the receiver? Thanks, and Happy Holidays!Bob ClarkeFalls Church, VA
I have a very unusual open layout living room that we are currently renovating. Originally my plan was to put 8” ceiling speakers in to act as rear surrounds for an Arc Ultra + Sub. However after opening up the ceiling we found that there is only space for 6” speakers between the joists in the ceiling. Additionally the gap between the joists for the placement that I had thought would be best for the left speaker we ended up being too tight to even install the 6” so it would require relocating it 2’ to the right. I’m wondering if it is worth doing this placement with the left speaker being much more central than I would have liked and not being symmetrical with the center of the TV to the right speaker. I could also move the right speaker in to make them both equidistant from the center of the TV. However given this I was considering alternatives and thought about ceiling mounting 2 Era 300s instead of the In-Ceiling speakers. I’m wondering if anyone has any recommendations for this lay
I am unable to control the volume using the receiver. I am using 2 ERA100 speakers and 1 Sonos Ray. I have an RCA going from Sonos Line Out to the receiver SA-CD/CD IN. II have created a Group in the app with the 3 speakers and have the Line set as Fixed in the app. All components connected to wifi. Am I missing something that might cause this not to work?
With the introduction of the Amp Multi and the lack of any hdmi input or atmos support, I thought it might be an interesting conversation to consider why that decision was made. I personally would have liked to seen hdmi input, whether that brings atmos or not, but I can see some reasons why.The primary reason is essentially that home theatre is just not then intended reason the device was made. It’s for whole home audio.Adding hdmi and atmos would be features that many users don’t want and don’t want to pay for. Additional features and use cases like this lead to increased possibility for bugs/issues to occur. The amp multi is designed to be primarily be in a rack far away from a TV, requiring a long hdmi cable. This is 8 channels, or 4 stereo pairs. Home audio setups are usually odd numbered, with a center channel. So either a center channel is missing, or one of the audio channels would be unused. Amp multi is 125W per channel, which is probably overkill for many of the channels
At one point our whole system played just fine, 2 AMPS, Port, 2 One, 3 ONE SL. Recently our outside speakers (thirds party) which are connected to the AMPs have stopped working. The app shows everything playing, the amps and port both have a solid white light. Ive tried resetting the amps, making new groups, unplugging and replugging, unplugging the amp and plugging it back in, etc. The only thing I havend done is factory reset the amps or trying to use the join button. I dont believe I should have to since everything is showing up in the sonos apps. I hoping for other things to try before we escalate to seeking outside help to check the wiring from the server room to the outdoor speakers. The only changes we have had lately are upgrading our firewall device as well as unplugging the port device during a server room upgrades.
I am looking for what is the best way to integrate my Denon AVR X4500H into my Sonos system. Ideally I would like to be able to output the Sound on the TV to multiple sonos speaker, Like watching a game and being able to stream the audio out. I tried using the line in on my exiting Era 100 but that did not seem to work. USBC to RCA nor USBC to HDMI both cable failed to detect a line in signal. I was thinking of getting the port, but that does not look like it has HDMI and I am wondering if this would work. I also was looking at the AMP and this does have HDMI, but I am really not looking to amp any speakers, I am only looking to bridge in and out by Denon onto my Sonos Network. I am not opposed to getting new hardware but I want to be sure I am getting stuff which will integrate.
My sonos amp only has 2 of the 4 speakers working. I cannot find anywhere to view the speakers if there is that facility. I have turned it all off and wifi then rebooted and plug in speakers again and that has not worked.
