RCA Hub for Turntable and CD Player ERA 100

Dear all,

I’ve recently purchased the second ERA 100 for better stereo imaging. If a single one blew me away, eventually, two will set it to stratosphere…

Anyway, I am a vinyl afficionado and would like to listen to LPs. I also have a substantial CD collection that I don’t want to get rid of.

I bought the Sonos line in adapter and it works perfectly for the CD. Concerning the Turntable, I have a an integrated amp (Advance Acoustics MAP 305 DA II) that has a line out. This means I am able to connect the Turntable and CD into the amp and feed the Sonos via the Line in adapter.

So, instead of having to switch on the amp every time I want to listen to the above sources, I was thinking about a sort of an RCA hub to connect all the sources (phono pre-amp included) via the Sonos line in adapter to one of the 100s. I´ve seen some equipment online but I am quite unaware of any specific or reference quality model.

Ultimately, I can buy another Sonos line in adapter and connect it to the other ERA 100. I would have the CD and Turntable connected to each ERA 100.

Any suggestions on this issue?

Thank you very much.

Marcos from Portugal.

You could use a small stereo mixer and connect the turntable and CD player to the same ERA-100. The cost will be similar to adding a second adapter, but not as convenient to operate.

Each Line-In adapter is stereo and can be accessed by any combination of players. You would connect the turntable to one ERA-100 and the CD player to the other. Both can played simultaneously (in different Rooms). Note that each Line-In is simply a network resource that will not automatically play through the connected player.

Thank you for the reply. Quite informative indeed!

Basically, I would like to avoid having another device plugged in to power.

Weather I choose another line in adapter or a stereo mixer i will also need a phono pre amp (mandatory).

Meanwhile, I’ll do some research on the RCA Hub/mixer. Let’s see what the market has to offer.

Keep you posted.

Avoiding any power use get a manual RCA switch.

A bit on the expensive side but very nice

a lot more options

Thank you very much Stanley_4.

In fact I’ve heard good things about the first switch you suggested.

Anyway, I’ll try some different configurations to get a notion of the best sounding solution. Amp as a transport for the CD and Turntable (no need for a phono pre amp as the amp has a dedicated phono line in). Two line in adapters (one for each Era 100), one for the CD and the other one for the Turntable plus phono pre amp. Lastly, the RCA switch.

Good times!

I have the Schitt SYS attached to my Schitt Mani2 preamp. The sys is a passive preamp that has a two source switch and a volume knob. My wife loves this combo beacause she prefers analog volume control as opposed to voice or app volume control. https://www.schiit.com/products/sys
