I have an existing Port to several speakers, works as expected. I attempted to add a Sonos Amp and a few speakers to play different music in different rooms. However, when Amp is turned on, constantly makes a clicking noise (sounds like the audible text message typing). It also constantly fluctuates the volume up and down, as wells as auto groups with my Port. I’m new to Sonos and this may not be doable. Please help.

How many speakers do you have connected to the Amp? Sounds like it may be protecting itself.
The Amp can run an 8 ohm speaker on each channel, or two 8 ohm speakers on each channel for a load of 4 ohms.
It can run three Sonos branded speakers on each channel.
Check the load to the amp. Remove one speaker on each channel if possible to see if the issues gets resolved.
Then Sonos Port supplies a line level output, ideal for receivers or self powered speakers. The Sonos Amp provides a speaker level output, which you use to power speakers that are not self powered. What kind of speakers do you have, and what are the connected to?
If this is a new Amp a support call might be your best bet either fix it or ship a replacement if it is bad hardware.

Double check the wiring on the speakers connected to the Amp. Make sure there are no frays outside of the terminal connections on both the Amp and the speakers. Volume fluctuations and/or clicks can be symptoms of a fault caused by a short due to crossed wires.
