I used to have fixed output level on my Sonos Connect but cannot find that setting anymore after the recent updates. I want to check if it still is available, even if I cannot find it, or if my conclusion that the option has been removed is correct?
Auto play for the line in of my Port is back in the app again. That’s great, and it seems to work. However it is not working as it should be. At least not how it worked before. It works all just fine when I played my music (with Spotify) and later (Spotify is paused/stopped playing) I turn on my tv which is connected to the line in port. Then the Port automatically starts playing the line in and changes the volume to the preset value. But now I have changed the Line in volume while watching tv. I stopped watching and after a while my Port auto pauses the line in. Great. But now, when later I start watching tv again, the Port only resumes playing the Line in and leaves the volume untouched. Why is that? Why isn’t the volume changed to the preferred setting for auto play?
I inherited a restaurant with a sonos system in place. I don’t know what the speaker types are but they are all wired to an amp which is connected to 2 ports, one labeled for half of the restaurant and the other the opposite half. Issue is, they both control random speakers throughout the restaurant, one speaker doesn’t even seem to be connected.. There aren’t many, maybe 20-25 speakers max. I don’t really need 2 seperate channels.. It’s too small a place to play 2 different sounds at once. That’s not all.. What had happened was.. the amp was not the right size for the power and was making some wild noises so a friend offered to swap it out for another that could handle the input. (I don’t know crap about this so bear with me on the terminology. I’m a chef.. I’ll filet you a fish or make you a souffle without batting an eyelash but I am probably going to sound like an idiot going forward). The speaker wires are all jammed into the available black and red wire spots in the back.. onl
Sonos Connect seems to have ceased to work.
What is the future of the old white Connect? How long will it work? How long will the S1 app work?
Hi, my AMP was working fine. One day it stopped. Looking at its lights, it is switching between solid white for 20 sec to flashing light for several seconds. It seems to me like it is constantly rebooting itself. I talked with Tech support for a few minutes (then disconnected), they mentioned something about looking for a new update ... when my rest of the system is a few revisions up. Any idea how to solve it?
Evening all. I should be seeing this but I’ve gone Sonos blind :-)We have a home office that we’ve added a kids gaming environment to. There is a Port in there that currently feeds a large old Pioneer AVR to an outside surround system. It’s used in the Summer a bit but the rest of the year just sits there in really. I’m wondering if I can switch the Port O/P to either a) the Pioneer and/or b) a small Sony 5.1 system in the Office? But I cannot quite get my head round it. I guess some form of RCA switch? The 5.1 is used with an optical feed from a PS4 and an Xbox and works fine. I don’t need the 5.1 for the Sonos, just a vehicle to output music and audio books etc.Would appreciate any clarity or explanations what would work please. I’m just not quite piecing it together …. age I think ! :-) Many thanks in advance
Don't you test your updates. This new app is horrible! One thing I always have enjoyed about my Sonos system WAS ease of use and smooth flow. I have had your system for at least 10 years now probably closer to 15. For the first time I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND SONOS. The new app has ruined it. Sound quality is still amazing but navigating frustrates me every time I use it. Ques will not erase, rooms won't switch off and on easily, just about any change takes several attempts to take. WHAT IS GOING ON!!!!!
Sorry if this has been asked before but I can’t find an answer to the problem I have and following others solutions. I have a Technic 1200 mk2 and I have this connected via a preamp into a Sonos Connect:Amp, never had an issue, now I can’t use the Connect:Amp as its deemed to old, so I have bought a new cable to go into the back of my Sonos 5, all fine apart from the noticeable distorted hum in the background, I have moved the speakers more than two feet away as others have said but still there.Any help much appreciated :)
The status light on my Sonos port stays green since the last update from SonosIn settings/ hardware it is turned off.Any ideas..
We had a Bose 48 Lifestyle system now disconnected but the in ceiling speakers remain in 4 rooms. Bought a Sonos amp to connect to the kitchen speakers and it works great. Loathe to buy 3 more Sonos amps for the other rooms. Is there another way to connect them all up through the one Sonos amp?
I have not used my (probably 2nd gen) sonos system for five years. Getting it set up and on a new wifi system in my new house has been impenetrable, and I don’t have an RJ45 cable to tie it into the router. Is it possible that there is not bluetooth device configuration on these? And the discussions I see about this are not very encouraging. Is it the case that I have to establish the system on the new wifi network via cable somehow in order to configure any of it to work in the new house. Feels like poor design, even for the time.
Hi I have 4 Connect Amps that have been working fine for some years but just recently they are dropping the Audio for a few seconds which is very annoying. I have spoken to Sonos Support on a few occasions and done everything they have suggested to fix this which they say is WiFi Interference such as switching channels etc but still have problems. This happens on any music source but I have noticed when the speakers go silent the sound levels are still going up and down on the app as if its playing the audio in other words not muted, not sure if this helps identify the problem. I am getting to the point now where soon these will be removed as they just aren't worth the hassle. I have seen a few threads where people have had the same problem but the only answers I have seen are contact Sonos Support.Has anyone had this problem and got a viable solution??????Some posts suggest an issue with S2 being introduced so does anyone know if this is a problem??
Since the ‘upgrade’ I’m unable to connect to the wired Booster so I can adjust volume on my stereo. Is this something I can fix or is this an upgrade problem?
I’m trying to set up some outdoor speakers for a new patio that we are building. Thinking about putting 4 Klipsch speakers AW- 650 ( which would go under patio ceiling ( size of patio is 40 X25 ) and another 2 outdoor speakers on the ground ( the rock looking ones AWR-650-SM) ) for the other part of the backyard. Can all this be connected to 1 sonos amp or I need 2 separate ones? also how many speakers can each amp support? I already have sonos for inside of the house and have been using the for years. We love it! Thanks.
I am struggling to play vinyl from my turntable to my Arc. The current setup that I have is I connect my turntable to the RCA IN on the Connect, then I set the Arc input to be the Line-In that shows up in the app. For some reason no sound comes out of the Arc. Here are a few things I’ve tried:- I tried playing music from apple music in the app to the Arc, this worked- I tried connecting the LINE OUT of the Connect to speakers and play from the Line-In, this worked I’m not sure what is going wrong. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
One of all my disappointments from Sonos of late, the lack a care for the Sonos amp is one of the biggest “F U”s from the Sonos team. Since the new software out Amp only runs default settings, no eq, no sub control, no surround control, no night mode. When we change the setting the just reset instantly. I just can’t believe how little this company cares about their customers now. An absolute insulting and disgusting example greed and profits over care and quality. Why are we caring about night mode toggles in the settings menu when we have a long list of serious issues you seem to be avoiding. I’m trying to be patient but this is seriously so unacceptable. I’d post a video I’d the issue i can’t in the forum.
Hi everyone,I have an old Sonos Connect which I would like to link up to some decent Mordaunt Short speakers. Which amplifier (happy to buy used off eBay) would you recommend? Or is there another way to get the speakers hooked up?Many thanks in advance!
Ok noob question alert. Is ZP120 like ZP90 plus amp? Reason for asking is in the used marketplace a ZP120 is not much more than a ZP90. For now I do not need to connect to external passive speakers because I have 2 Sonos 5 Gen 1s. So can I use a ZP120 to wirelessly connect both my Sonos 5 Gen 1s and play music with S1 on my iPad?
Hi,I hope you can help me reset my Sonos Connect. After applying power with the pause button depressed, then releasing the pause button after about 15 seconds:the led flashes white/orange forever the led does not transition to green. the network port (cable connected) flashes so the switch and network is working.I have tried other combinations many times without success.Any ideas please? ThanksRich
Love the Amp hooked up to my Paradigm towers and TV in 5.1 Also using Tidal music awesome sound with the MQA👌👌
I honestly thought it was non techy head that was at fault - but reading some of these comments restores my sanity.I think I've got such a simple set up - just a speaker, turntable and port. Every time I want to switch between radio to turntable I have to do a minimum of 3 steps and check that the port is still ticked, get Line-in etc. I feel like I should just shout at the speaker 'the turntables on' . It shouldn't be this hard.
Hi - I am installing 3 pairs of speakers 1) kitchen 2) great room 3) patio... I want to be able to play the same music on all, and also play music on 1 set only. would never have different music on different speakers. How many amps do i need?
How many wired speakers I can connect to one amp and if they can daisy chain. also. Do we need a Port for each amp?
