Howdy So I just got the Sonos Play:5 today to connect my turntable into. The turntable has the required pre-amp to connect to the play:5 and it is working and playing my records just fine, but the volume isn''t even close to that of just playing Spotify through the Play:5. I literally have it turned up to the max volume, and it's loud, but i can't get it up past half way with non-vinyl audio without it blasting me out of the room. Do I need to get an additional amp to go in-between the turntable and the sonos system? Am I doing something wrong? Thanks in advance for your reply. Cheers!

My setup consists of an AT&T Uverse modem/router in downstairs bedroom, a Play 5 in next room over and a Sonos Connect upstairs and on the other side of the house. I frequently go long periods of time without having any network or dropout issues. But lately I have been having all kinds of problems. All of a sudden I can't browse my library, or one of my zones disappears, or songs drop out for no real reason and will do so repeatedly. Then all of a sudden it comes back on. Or just goes completely haywire and goes to the next track and plays 10 seconds before dropping out again and displaying the "insufficient buffer" error. I suspect that part of the problem might be the signal from AT&T. I pay for the 18 Mbps plan but am lucky to get 10-12. And this can drop down to the single digits during peak hours. This is the fastest plan available at my location and AT&T is the only game in town at the moment. So switching ISP is not an option. So I have tried various things like wiring in the

Newbie here. So, I just upgraded (ha!) my wireless network, getting rid of the Comcast modem and router nd installed a TP-Link AC3150. Now my Sonos controller wont see the network, even when connected via Ethernet to the router. All other devices, with the exception of an older kindle, see the network with no problems. Wouldn't it be great if you could fit ceiling speakers throughout your home and they were all Sonos. Who would like them....?

Hello! I recently had my first experience with Sonos while staying at a vacation rental and I am sold :) I have a living room Sony sound bar and sub that work quite well so I'm thinking of buying a play 1 pair for a kitchen and bedroom speaker and then a connect for the Sony. I primarily use an Xbox for all media cconsumption which routes audio and video into the Sony via HDMI, Sony plays audio, then routes video to TV (which is just a glorified monitor now) via HDMI. Questions arise when I have a connect running into the Sony. I'm assuming I'll have a new audio input from Connect into the Sony so ill need to switch between those to get either Xbox video/audio or streaming Sonos to work? Also will the Sonos connect turn on my Sony or will I need to either leave it on 24/7 or turn it on manually when I want to stream music? Anything else I'm missing here? Thanks a ton!

Hi folks - I have a 5 piece Sonos system in multiple rooms within our house. Wifi network is secure and working perfectly. Speakers are on separate breakers in a new house. Everything was great for almost a year then without warning, two Play 1s and a Play 3 stopped being recognized by the app on my phone. I've been through the set up process multiple times but the speakers are no longer being picked up and I'm getting a solid orange light (which suggests over heating... only they're cold... and it's November) Please help me wonderful community! Getting really frustrated as we have family staying for the holidays and one of the main reasons I got this system was for occasions like Thanksgiving! If it doesn't work soon then I'll get a refund and kit my house out with a competitor system... Thanks

Can Sonos speakers be safely used outside being exposed to water

As of this am (11/19/2016) my system is not working. I've rebooted routers, computers, phones etc. Reconnected my Sonos Boost and unplugged and plunged back in several of my speakers (over 10 in the house). Of course Sonos support is mon - fri. Anyone else experiencing connection problems?

Hi. I ordered a CONNECT:AMP to setup up a new room with my KRK Rokit6 powered speakers, and I think I might really need a CONNECT. The KRK speakers have RCA cables, and I'm not sure I can connect them to the CONNECT:AMP. If I can, would it require an RCA to Speaker Wire cable? Thanks, Bill

Hi, sorry if this has already been answered but if it has my search skills are poor. I'm looking to purchase a Turntable to play some of my old LP's and have come across the Audio Technica AT-LP5 which looks to get good reviews and was wondering what i would need to connect it to my current Sonos setup of Soundbar, Sub and 2 x Play 1's all connected with the Sonos Boost for my Wifi. I can see that Sonos have two options in the Connect and the Connect:Amp but would rather not buy the more expensive Connect:Amp if it will just as additional features that i don't need. hi there I tried to set up a pair of Play:1's and a single Play:3 in the same room (kitchen), but I didn't manage to do so. Is that even possible? Everytime I tried to add the Play:3 as a new player, it kept ending up in the old room it was in before. And just changing the rooms name of the play:3 to kitchen wouldn't work either.

Hey, We have 5 ZP120 Sonos devices in our office. Plus VoIP(Snom). Whenever Sonos has been on for more than 20 minutes, our VoIP starts to fall out. People cannot hear us, we cannot hear them. There is also noise. Our VoIP base stations has been moved away from the ZP120 devices. No luck. Any suggestions?

Anybody know what the input impedance of the RCA inputs on Connect or Connect Amp are, as I need to design an attenuator. I realise there is a setting for sensitivity, but I use a switch before the RCA input and need to pad down one of those feeds.

I'm thinking about setting up a Sonos network, and wanted to make sure I have this right. I presently have a Denon AVR-1700 receiver hooked up to a Bose pre-amp through the MD/Tape output, so that I can use the Bose 901 speakers I have. The RCA cables go to and from the pre-Amp via RCA. Other inputs to the receiver include a turntable (via RCA) and the television (via optical). It's my understanding that from the pre-amp I can link the Sonos Connect in via RCA, and then throw the signal back to the receiver via digital out on the Connect. I believe anything on the receiver (television, turntable, etc...) could then be transmitted to Play 1 speakers in other zones. Is this correct? Will there be a delay? Pretty confusing (at least for me), so I appreciate any help. Thanks.

My sonos works perfectly in the bedroom, but it won't connect in the living room. I'm trying to play from my laptop library, but get a message: error message unable to play 'name of song' the file name of location .m4a cannot be found In one room it works fine, in the other, nothing.

I'm considering adding a turntable to my Sonos setup. There seem to be some good deals on the old ZP100 on eBay currently. Would a ZP100 enable me to add a turntable without the need for an additional preamp?

I was over on the B & H Photo web site and I was looking at the SONOS Subwoofer. It indicated that the Sub now includes "Integrated SONOSNet 2.0 Extender". I then when to the SONOS website and see no reference to this "New" stuff. I also noticed on the B&H site that they had discontinued Subs. Could someone please explain what changed and why the new is better?

Our router was moved to a closet, so I can't plug my Sonos Connect to it as well as keep it connected to my analog receiver and speakers. What do I need to connect to a network? Is the Bridge still my best option or are there other options?

Hello fellow Sonos users, My wife & I are working on remodeling the basement and are at the budgetary phase. My wish to is to add another pair in the house of PlayBar & Sub. The room will primarily used by teens (not us - we want to have some peace & quiet!) and if we can't budget the PB+Sub I'll be looking for plan B. Please don't hate me: anyone has a suggestion for a soundbar + wireless sub and maybe 2 more wireless speakers to make a 5.1 setup? Was looking a Vizio, pricing is appealing ($500 for a 5.1 kit) but what about sound, will I cry my price difference away in regret? Same idea with Sony, Polk and other vendors. Damn why did Sonos make sure a good product? 🆒 Looking for advice & guidance, thanks in advance!
