Amazon Alexa and Sonos

Sonos Beam + 2 Sonos 1 + Sub (TV setup), separate Sonos One. Re-occuring issue when using Alexa with Amazon Music. Sonos plays only one song from the playlist/radio etc and stops. Saw many threads before and used a workaround few times: https://en.community.sonos.com/amazon-alexa-and-sonos-229102/sonos-one-only-plays-one-song-at-a-time-6817646/index1.html But currently nothing seems to be resolving this issue. Steps from other threads no longer work and really seem to be outdated as Alexa menu changed.

Hello there - I need help regarding my Sonos One and Sonos beam speakers with Alexa. When I ask Alexa a regular odd ball questions she responds just fine something like “how far is the moon” or “who won the game last night” - but when I tell her to go through my flash briefing she says “here’s your flash briefing” than crickets/nothing happens..... or something like “play John Mayer in Apple Music” and she responds “to do that, the skill needs to be activated in the Alexa app.” Or something of that nature. The thing is - all of these things are enabled and music/media accounts are all linked up. It was working properly before but now it doesn’t seem to work ever. I even when as far as resetting all 4 of my speakers (One; 5, Beam, and play 1) and restoring factory defaults and re set up all of my speakers. I am definitely at a loss. Any help or feedback is definitely appreciated - sucks I paid this much money for speakers that the wireless “voice” functionality doesn’t work. Thanks

The voice of Alexa on my sonos Beam is too low, if i turn up the volume it turns the volume up on EVERYTHING not just the Alexa voice, i think it should be separate how loud you want alexa or how loud you want the speaker to play. Is there a FIX yet? please help.

So I have a Sonos Beam in the master bedroom, and a Sonos One in the ensuite, The space is not huge, sp when you command "Alexa", both are responding. My understanding was the the Sonos devices with Alexa built in used Amazon's ESP (Echo Spatial Perception) technology that would allow both to listen, then chose the closer one to respond from, just like other Echo devices. This is not working for me. No matter where you are in the room, BOTH respond. When I called tech support they didn't know what I was talking about and told me I had to mute one of them. Not really a great option or how I intended to use them when I bought them. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Is it possible to stop the volume drop that occurs when someone uses alexa via one of the sonos speakers? I'll be listening in another room and it causes my music to drop in volume. This can be annoying. I understand why you'd have this occur in the room you are in but if someone in the loving room uses alexa to turn on a light my music shouldn't drop in volume in the bedroom.

I have an Echo dot connected to a whole house sound system and I use Alexa to play Pandora through the system. If I add a Sonos system to the network, enable the skills, etc., will Pandora play through the Sonos speaker as well?

Long time Sonos and long time Alexa user here. First time I setup my Sonos One, it took hours to get Alexa + Spotify + Flash briefing working. Not sure how I got it working in the end, but it was a lot of removing devices, adding them, removing skill, adding skill, clearing app logins, clearing cookies, etc. Very painful. I believe overnight there has been an update to Sonos overnight as my software says 10.1 as this page exists: https://www.sonos.com/en-gb/software/release/10-1 Yet... https://www.sonos.com/en-gb/software/release/10-2 Throws a 404. I can't find much else for 10.1.2 update, other than some forum posts in German. Seeing as this is a patch release (.2), and not a minor or major (.2 or .11), maybe Sonos don't share their release notes or change log? But I would expect that for a patch release that it DOESN'T BREAK MY GOD DAMN SONOS ONE. Since the update (if it was an update - definitely since overnight). I'm trying to add a Sonos One to a room with an Existing Amazon Echo, for the purpose of improving accuracy of Alexa commands. Also, I've already set up Sonos since I have a Connect:Amp in this room. Before I added the Sonos One, I have been able to successfully play music through the Connect:Amp using the Amazon Echo for commands. When I go to add the Sonos One, I see no way to just add it to my existing Alexa system with all my connected devices. There appears to be a way to add Amazon devices to an existing setup, but not Sonos devices with Alexa built in. Is there any way to do this?

Can we please get the options Amazon's Echo Dot has? I really want to change my 2 speakers to "computer".

When i ask alexa to play music in one room in my house she stops music playing in other rooms with sonos ones. Music is played via spotify. Its driving me mad. Any suggestions anyone?

I have Alexa setup with my Playbar. "Alexa, play [band name] in the Living Room" results in music playing from Amazon Music, which is connected. I also have my Soundcloud account connected to my Sonos system. Is it possible to use Alexa to play music from SoundCloud on Sonos? I can't seem to construct the correct request or maybe it won't work? "Alexa, play my SoundCloud playlist [playlist name] in the Living Room" or "Alexa play my favorites from SoundCloud in the Living Room".

I have a 5.1 setup with a playbar, 2xPlay1 and subwoofer. Further more some Play Ones in other rooms. Im thinking about replacing the 2xPlay1 with Ones. But will Alexa work in the 5.1 Setup? Or will they have to be "main/primary" for it to work?

As the title suggests. This is when trying to play music, and has been happening for about 10 days now. Example: I say "Alexa play songs by Foo Fighters". She says "Playing songs by Foo Fighters from Spotify - sorry, that device is offline". I've disabled the Sonos skill in the Alexa app, removed Alexa as a voice service in the Sonos app, been to https://alexa.amazon.com/ from a browser on my PC and told Alexa to forget all my devices, deregistered my devices from the Alexa app, and all the reverses of those procedures, all in various different combinations and orders as has been suggested by other forum post solutions, and nothing is working. The answer from Alexa is always the same. If anyone can help I'd be very grateful!

When I first bought the Sonos One I was really happy with it. After the initial setup everything seemed to work fine and I enjoyed controlling Spotify via Alexa. A few weeks later that changed and for approximately two months now Alexa refuses to play Spotify telling me that the device is offline. I have already tried disabling and re-enabling the Sonos skill in the Alexa App. I also let Alexa forget all devices and rediscovered. I changed the name of the Sonos One and I disconnected Alexa in the Sonos App. Nothing seems to work and I am getting more and more frustrated with the Speaker and am thinking about selling it again. So this is my last resort, what other fixes are there or what did I do wrong? I appreciate your help.

Can I ask Alexa on Sono One to play the sound currently on my playbase that is tv audio? I saw in another forum Alexa doesn't understand grouping.

Trying to set up the Alexa voice control in the sonos app But keeps saying Alexa Problem adding, have followed all the forums and a lot of people have had same issue, have re set up deleted apps made new accounts change time zones and tried every thing. Hi, Normally I would not have a title as negative as this but I'm an hour in to opening my birthday present this morning - a Sonos One and rewind a few years when I was a little more hot headed I think it would already be out of the window. It's taken me two restarts to get it working but am experiencing the following problems: 1. I can control volume in individual rooms but not group volume. I currently have three different speakers in one room so this is problem for me. 2. It doesn't seem to recognize half the names of my play lists 3. When asking it to shuffle a currently playing playlist it switches a new recommended playlist from Amazon Are these all 'teething' problems and should I stick with it having now invested in one (excuse the pun) or send back and get a Play 1?

Having an issue where whenever I try to play something on Spotify on Sonos using Alexa, it's just coming up with 'To link your Spotify, please add a premium account in the Alexa app' even though I have already done this. When I try to play Spotify using just the Echo dot it's playing fine - just doing this when I want it to play on the Sonos! Anyone have any ideas? Thank you 🙂

Is the Alexa dot compatible with Sonos system? Can you play your Spotify music on Sonos via Alexa dot? Or do I need the Alexa spot? And does someone know if Alexa can create a shopping list for example and send it to your iPhone? Thanks a lot I'm so lost!

Sonos may play music streaming and music stored on your pc and smathphone through the wi fiSo you will not spend a lot of battery and the quality of sound is much better many peolpe prefer speaker that have bliuetooth like bose ( i did that but i was not satisfied. But i think it's worth to explein that if you have a sonos one you don't need bluetooth Do you agree on that? thank you
