I have a turntable attached to a preamp, which is attached to a Sonos Connect. It works fine and I can listen to records through Sonos play1s.. but at night when the family is asleep I'd like to listen via Bose QC35ii bluetooth headphones. So I got a Taotronics BA-90 bluetooth transmitter and plugged it into the digital audio out on the Connect.. it pairs with the headphones but still I get no sound through the headphones and still audio through the play1s. What am i doing wrong?

Do we know yet whether the new Sonos AMP supports Trueplay?

I've seen a few posts with people asking about a PoE version of the Play:1, so I decided to make one. The Sonos Play:1 only has an AC input, and internally the main supply is 24 volts DC. Standard 802.3af/at PoE is roughly 48 volts and requires the device to include negotiation logic, so adapting it would require some extra hardware. However, I realized something that makes this project way easier: many "enterprise" WiFi systems use a nonstandard scheme called "Passive PoE" where 24 volts is applied directly to the Ethernet cable with no negotiation steps. Even better, the Sonos Play:1 is a 100 Mbit Ethernet device, not gigabit. 100M Ethernet uses only two of the four pairs in a cat5 cable (gigabit uses all four), and the other two are spare. 802.3af/at standard PoE requires that the device be able to accept power on any set of pairs, but "passive PoE" usually only uses the spare pairs. Hi, I have seen a couple other posts about this but I wanted to also request that Sonos creates an option for us to save multiple customized EQ settings . Every time I switch between listening to music and watching TV I have to totally change my EQ, bass, treble, and even sometimes sub woofer. I can do it but my wife really needs the presets so she can just switch from music to tv within the EQ. This would greatly improve the user experience in my opinion, and make things easier for those in the household who aren’t savvy in this sort of thing. I believe if enough customers join and request this the programming department could implement it into the app rather easily.

Have a Sonos Connect AMP, and I love the quality of sound it generates with my own speakers, and now thinking of expanding system. I recently purchased it, and now Sonos AMP is out, so I feel a bit unhappy about that, and I would likely have waited a little to purchase new unit. But that is not my most serious issue: I have a decent understanding of TCP/IP networking, but am by no means an expert. I have recently upgraded from consumer grade router to pfsense+unifi switch and AP config. I have designed my network so that I have 3 separate segregated networks, on different VLANs. MAIN LAN, IOT LAN, GUEST LAN. Like many other folks before me, according to the hours I have spent reading forums, I am having an issue getting APP on MAIN to work with SONOS on IOT. Every one of my other 7 smart device work just fine, with Avahi mDNS/DNS-SD reflector, but not SONOS. I have been playing with IGMP Proxy as suggested on many forums and still nothing. Why is this so complicated? F

I have a Sony TV which will be located in one room and I would like to use a new Sonos Amp which will reside in a closet in another room. I would like to use an optical cable instead of ARC. Can I use the HDMI to optical adapter and control the amp volume with the cable remote?

I'm having an issue with my new Sonos AMPs and AirPlay working across VLANs. This setup is in a corporate environment. The Sonos lives on it's own subnet (VLAN 10), and guests connect to another (VLAN 20). I have a Bonjour gateway configured so that devices on VLAN 20 can see the Sonos advertising AirPlay on VLAN 10. Also, for the purposes of troubleshooting, I've allowed all traffic between both VLANs. This is working as expected, clients can connect and begin streaming. The issue I'm having is that I'm experiencing random 1-2 second dropouts, and after ~15 minutes the connection will completely drop. A packet capture shows everything humming along just fine until the Sonos sends a TCP reset and the client disconnects. The issue does not occur when both devices are on the same VLAN. This issue happens with multiple clients and all of my Sonos AMPs. This happens to both wired and wireless clients

Can the sonos amp power my Dynaudio passive speakers and let me use a sonos wireless sub ?

I am a bit confused, i have a boost and all my sonos devices are wireless connected to it via sonosnet. In some mesh systems like velop you can wire some extra components and the cable is used as a “backup” I always thought that with sonosnet you can only have 1 (boost) wired to the router, but now i hear you can also have some speakerswired to it. Was there a change in the sonos mesh system that i now can use a “wired backbone” ? Thanks Rob

I have two Ubiquiti APs and want to add a third, problem is that sonosnet is using one of the 2.4 channels and i want to use it for the third AP. Tried moving my SONOS speakers to the APs from their original boost mode. That went ok but curiously it seems that the speakers gravitate to the same AP rather than than the closest. I wonder if the speakers are checking the BSSID in addition to the SSID? - perhaps to avoid multiple hops if repeaters are used?

Hi, I've recently acquired a ZP100 however it looks to be stuck in the boot process with a single white light flashing endlessly. It doesn't appear responsive to holding the mute button on bootup. On powerup all of the network port light flash briefly and the connection lights are solid if wired to bridge via ethernet. I know this is an old product and I know it is my fault for purchasing it, but is there any other reset tricks or way to update the firmware to get out of this loop?

I have set-up a Sonos Connect: Amp to play music through four wired ceiling speakers in a room of my house. The four ceiling speakers are wired to the terminals on the back of the Connect: Amp. A 2018 Samsung TV is hung on awall of the room. Two communication cables terminate behind the TV: a coaxial cable used for cable TV feed and an unfinished Cat 6E Ethernet cable (not in use). The other end of the Ethernet cable (also unfinished) terminates in an A/V closet within reach of the Sonos Connect: Amp. It does not appear practical to replace the Ethernet cable with, for example, an HDMI cable due to the roughly 70-80 ft cable run (where the entire run is behind the walls). I would like the TV audio (but not surround sound) to play on the ceiling speakers through the Connect: Amp. Can I use the Ethernet cable to play TV audio through the ceiling speakers? If so, how? Thanks for any knowledge you can share.

I recently had to temporarily move two play 1s to the floor (carpeted) while a room is being redone ... I turned them on expecting it to sound poorly... it was ok... I ran Trueplay... and honestly they seem to sound great... better than before when they were closer to ear level. This goes against everything I know and would expect. Have I just not experienced it enough with a diverse range and nuanced ear? These Play 1s appear to be more full and robust sounding... as if they were play 5s. The only thing I have noticed so far is that volume has to be a little higher to fill the space.

So I have a playbar and 2 x Ones in my lounge. I’ve added 1 x play 1 in the kitchen. Trouble is when I plug the play 1 into mains in lounge it’s all good and the speaker and group is found. Unplug and take to the kitchen and it drops off and can’t be found or connected. I’m tearing my hair out...!!!!!

AirPlay 2 devices can be used without WiFi. The Apple HomePod has AirPlay 2, and can be used without WiFi. I've tested with my Sonos One, and was disappointed to find this isn't possible. Is this something that might be supported in the future? This would be a welcome enhancement for so many of us that would like to use Sonos without a network.

So I have a client that has two building separated by a parking lot. The buildings have two completely different network but they do have a site to site VPN tunnel connecting the two networks. For these purposes I'll refer to these as site A and site B going forward. The network at site A is 192.168.1.x and the network at site B is 192.168.2.x The client would like to have a controller on their front desk computer at site A be able to control 2 speaks located at site A and two speakers located at site B that pump music into the customer waiting areas. Is this possible?

So I was interested in getting a connect/amp so I could link the master out of my DJ mixer to my Sonos setup in the living room which consists of a pair of Ones and a Beam. Browsing the community it appears that there is a delay on the Sonos playback which means the sound played back in headphones attached to mixer, whilst cueing and mixing, would be out of sync. For anyone who DJs, not what you want eh. So what we really need to get around this problem is for the headphone output of the mixer, to be delayed by the same amount as the Sonos setup. Now then. After a bit of googling I discovered this (below). Have a look and feedback comments. Essentially, using some phono and jack adapters from any hifi store or similar, I see no reason why you couldn’t insert this device in between the DJ mixer and the headphones. I currently only have two Play:1s and a single One. Over the next few months I will be purchasing new Sonos in the following order: 1. Amp, 2. Playbase, 3. a second One, and 4. a Sub. I will be using the RCA line-in on the Amp to run a turntable. I also want to use my two Ones, Playbase, and Sub as a 5.1 HT, with my existing Play:1s off in other rooms of the house. Is it possible to group the Playbase, Ones, and Sub as my 5.1 HT with the Playbase connected to my LAN switch, while also grouping all speakers for playing the turntable through the Amp? I don't have any passive speakers, nor do I plan on getting any. What would be the best configuration to have both Amp turntable functionality, and 5.1 HT functionality? Would it help to have both my Playbase and my Amp connected to my Ethernet switch for this purpose? I'd like to avoid having to regroup, and reconfigure each time I switch between my HT setup, and my turntable setup.

We have a Marantz NR1504 receiver that is connected to our cable internet and has a surround sound speaker system we use to play both music (usually Pandora, itunes and occasionally our record player) as well as tv/movies (cable, DVDs, Apple TV). We live in a small(ish) apartment but would like to play music in the kitchen and bedroom as well, and have been thinking about adding wireless speakers to those areas. SONOS is the most recommended, but it is a big investment and we want to make sure we can use it in ADDITION to our current surround sound system? If we entertain, we would like to find a way to seamlessly play music in the whole apartment. It looks like we can use a SONOS Connect, but we'll need to buy a SONOS speaker or two and we aren't sure they will play along with the current speakers. This is all a bit overwhelming, as there are so many models and audio cable terms we are unfamiliar with. Any suggestions in layman terms are most appreciated.

I've recently installed a Eero based mesh network in my house to reach all the awkward little corners that my previous setup could not. I have to say I'm impressed with it. One thing has been bothering me. When I try to connect the Sonos set up I have, distributed around the house, it seems that the Sonos system is only binding to a single AP MAC address. The support url shows pretty much all my sonos elements with "red" status for bad wifi signal quality. Is that how it works with Sonos, you only bind the whole system to a single base station? if so, I would like to urge you to support the full functionality of the mesh systems that can steer the devices to the nearest base station. Appreciate the clarification so I can decide what do with those speakers that keep dropping their connection. Thanks.

I've run into a situation where a Connect AMP prefer a weak SonosNet connection over using wired Ethernet. I have 4 permanently and 1 occasionally powered Sonos units: a) Connect (wired Ethernet) b) Play 5 c) Play 1 d) Connect AMP (wired Ethernet) e) Connect (wired Ethernet, WiFi OFF, unit is occasionally powered) Sonos Network Matrix (units a to e, left to right on the X-axis): The SonosNet is "green" between unit a) and b). Unit c) has "yellow" connection with b). Initially when adding unit e) I had problems with network loops and found out that my root switch ate all RSTP BPDUs. Later I enabled RSTP in the root switch

Looking to set up guest access to Sonos during parties, without giving up main wifi network info. I understand I could just set it up on a guest network, but I use Sonos daily on my main network (along with other devices) and do not want to have to switch between guest and main network every time I have guests. I have 3 Play ones and a Bridge. Any insight here?
