What to get

Hi all,I want to buy a turntable and connect it to my Sonos. I don’t have anything third party only Sonos.For what I understood I need any turntable with preamp and Sonos Five.What would be the best setup?Best

I’me looking to move away from my Yamaha AV receiver which i use to power 2 towers and 2 bookshelf surrounds.I’m thinking of getting an amp to power the fronts, and either a second amp to power the surrounds or 2 * one’s.Looking for input from anyone that has done this and experienced any gotcha moments.Thanks. 

I recently moved to a new home where the previous owner had one Sonos Connect and 2 independent amps to run music to 4 rooms: living room, kitchen, family room & master bedroom. I am currently using the Connect to direct music to the kitchen ceiling speakers.I own 2 Play 1 and a Play 5.Question- what is the most economical way to expand my use of this equipment short of just forgetting the ceiling speaker installs. Do I need to buy 4 Connects or Sonos Amps? Segregation of the music source is limited by those 2 independent amps which have an A/B System capability. Thanks Gerry 

Hi, Im new at SONOS, so Im looking for your advice. Right now, Im bulding a TV room in which I want to have these SONOS products, or at least know if I need them, but anyway I need some advice.I would like to have an Arc Soundbar under my TV, next will be the Sub (Gen 3), also Im looking to get the In-Ceiling Speakers by Sonos and Sonance, all of these for the inside, and for the outside the Outdoor Speakers by Sonos and Sonance.My main question is: do I need just one Amp, or two? Also, will these speakers sound together? Can I just play the inside speakers, and not the outsides, or the other way, just outside and not inside?

Hello all, I'm looking at replacing our Playbar (5.1 setup) before Autumn as we do have a fair few Movie nights.I've been looking at the Sony HT-A7000 soundbar as well as the ARC.Cost wise, obviously the ARC wins but I'd be interested if anyone has tried both and what they thought?.The HT-A7000 with sub and surrounds is a fair wack £ wise but looking to get a good 6+ years out of either (like our Playbar).Will Play:1s and a 1st Generation Sonos Sub connect to the ARC?.I know it's an odd question to ask on a Sonos forum but interested in hearung from anyone who's tried both systems.

I bought 2 Sonons ones for my home.  Did not realize they would not work with Bluetooth. I want my tv sound to come out of my Sonos one speakers.  If i buy a Sonos Ray will I be able to connect that to my wifi Sonos one speakers? 

Here's an image of my current setup showing a Beam alongside other players (internet radio, chromecast, android player and an Echo speaker). I haven't included my earpod headphones as they are currently charging!  

Hi, I am planning to buy a new ARC. However, a little bit concerned that after my  purchase in a few months time whether Sonos will introduce a new arc in the market. So really confused whether to buy it now or wait for few more months. Kindly advise. 

Sonsos.  What is going on with shipping???  I just cancelled a $1,500 order because no one can give me a straight answer on what is going on.  Just “waiting and supply chain” noise.  I mean this is what, 3 years in, and that's still your excuse.  Nowhere on the order page was any of that mentioned?  I feel like you are trying to pull a fast one hoping I will sit for weeks waiting.  Can someone please give me a straight answer.  I still want the product and have other Sonos products, but this is really spooking me and making me consider changing course.

Hello,I am thinking of purchasing a Sonos Amp to power both my den bookshelf speakers and my outdoor speakers.  I would like to be able to turn off the indoor speakers when I am outside so that music doesn’t get blasted inside the house late at night and wake up the kids.  Old amps used to allow you to turn on specific speaker groups with the touch of button (ie. “speaker A, speaker B”). Does the Sonos Amp have this functionality?

Having dipped into the forum a bit, this seems to be a recurring issue.  I set up a MBG return of a Roam yesterday over the phone. The email confirming the return arrived during the call. It said an email would follow with a pre-paid return label.  No such pre-paid return label has arrived. This is irritating because I want to initiate the return, get a refund and then buy a Move instead. On a related point on Sat 14 (it’s now Thurs 19) I did an online trade in of one of my controllers to get the discount for the Roam (now Move)  I don’t have a returns label for that yet either. This is more Sonos’s problem than mine (at least for the time being) as they honoured the discount when I bought the Roam. But it is making me think that it could be a while before the returns label for the Roam arrives.If it matters, I’m in the U.K.    

Hi guys I'm looking on a Beam Gen 2 for a recently purchased cheap 2020 model Hisense A7100 I'm wondering if anyone knows if it'll be compatible, it only has ARC not eARC I've read some TVs allow pass through to play at least some form of Atmos without eARCBut I'm not sure this TV will be up to itIf anyone knows that would be greatThanks      

I have bought one of the turntables through Sonos and am playing through my Sonos 1 speakers via a Port. Can anyone recommend a CD player that I can hook up in the same way please?

Hi,I’m looking to purchase a Sonos system today, basically I’m trying to achieve the following but don’t know where to start, I’m a bit confused by all the different products available.Live in a fairly large size home (6,000 sq ft), entire home has good wi-fi and most rooms have ethernet sockets.I have a Synology DS2314+ NAS that I store my music on, which the Sonos would need to access.If I wanted standard speakers in around 8 rooms, to all play at same time same music, what would the best options be for me please?Also, can speakers be configured independently, for instance, in our kids 3 rooms, can the 3 speakers there be playing something different, whilst the other 5 speakers downstairs are linked to each other?Cost not a problem, as I’ve budgeted for this and will be used for many years.Thanks!

Hello,I’m moving in to a new place in a new country so I’m having a fresh start device-wise.Only thing I own for the moment is an Apple TV 4K. I don’t want to buy a TV so I will buy/use a 4K projector to watch movies. When I listen to music, I’m using Apple Music from my iPhone and I also have a record collection that is following me. I plan on buying a record player with a built-in pre-amp (https://www.denon.com/en-us/product/turntables/dp-300f)I thought about buying two Sonos Five in stereo for the living room, one being connected to the record player through line. A Sonos One for the bedroom. And a Sonos Move that I could move between the Balcony/Kitchen. Maybe I’ll add a sub-woofer in the living room as well.Would this work? Would everything be connected together?However, I don’t think I’ll be able to leverage Dolby Atmos from Apple Music/ Apple TV with this set-up.From my understanding, I would need an eARC cable going from my projector to a Sonos Arc/Bean right to enjoy Dolby Atm

I’m building an outdoor pavilion with a roof and walls on 3 sides (back and 2 sides), with the front side open. I’m mounting a TV on back wall, and want to purchase Sonos speakers to connect to the TV to use for TV sound in addition to music. Given the covered set-up, would the Arc or Beam be suitable for use? I couldn’t find details like IP rating on products except the Move and Roam. The set-up would be protected from direct water / rain and sun, but it does often get foggy overnight, which would likely wander into the space. Temperatures rarely get below freezing and sometimes get to 100 in the summer, but given the shade under the roof, it likely wouldn’t get that hot.Alternatively, if the Arc or Beam wouldn’t be suitable, can you connect the Amp to the TV and use the Sonance outdoor speakers sound from the TV in addition to music?

Hi thereLooking for some advice. I have a 9m by 4m kitchen dining room as shown. At the north end it’s all glass (so I can’t put a sideboard or shelf there) dining area. At the south end is the kitchen area with sink, hob, cooker etc. Right now, I have one Sonos Five, positioned on a sideboard as shown in the picture. The “problem” I have is I have to crank fairly loud to get the most out of it in the kitchen area - but that can be too loud for anyone sitting at the dining table.I am considering buying a second Five to put at the south-east corner of the kitchen to fill the room with sound more evenly. But when I look at pairing two Fives, the documentation seems to want them to be a left and right channel about 8ft apart. I also wonder if adding a Sub would be more “room filling”.Curious how folks would get more even sound distribution in the room … sadly putting speakers in the ceiling is not an option!It’ll only be used for music - no TV in this room.Thanks! 

Good afternoon, can anyone tell me why when I go to order from SONOs website. when I get to country to ship to… in drop down does not have USA? 

I had the arc with surrounds and sub before the infamous drop outs problem. I eventually gave up whilst I had an opportunity to return it, mainly down to the lack of information from Sonos. I have now moved on to the new Samsung Q990, which is fantastic, apart from, the rear and sub drop outs. I swear I am cursed with soundbars. The difference with the Samsung is that it briefly stops but 2 seconds later comes back, but It’s not right. So, is it safe to come back to Sonos? I loved the sound from it when I had it. Cheers ps, if I did, is it worth getting fives for surround as this Samsung is a lot better at surround than the arc.

Hi everyone, A little bit of context, I just bought a odyssey g70a monitor that doesnt have spearkers so I am thinking to buy the sonos ray but I realize that the monitor doesnt has optical audio input, it only has jack audio input, my question is, can I use a optical convert to jack cable to connect the sonos ray with my monitor? Will it work?

I am renovating my main floor right now and it will be entirely open. Per the title, there is no TV in this room nor will there be, and I would like to have good, booming music that can be heard in the whole space. I have some pictures attached, the room is approximately 27’x16’ or ~435 square feet.  

I’m building a new home and I have the opportunity to run with one of two options.  The room is fairly large with priority on home theatre, but to also play music in games room behind.  I’m looking for feedback on sound quality and ease of use.  Latency issues drive me mad btw!OP1: Arc in front, Sonos amp + ceiling rears, Sonos subOP2: TV connected to one amp driving in-wall speakers on the sides of the TV, and a second amp driving ceiling rears, Sonos subI am hoping to be able to simply turn on Sony TV and go (with full surround sound) without turning on other devices and messing with surround settings.  Also, to use iOS to play music in the room with a stereo channel (ceiling speakers are used as L/R and not surround channel).Thank you!

Hi all,Just looking to upgrade the master bedroom.. I’ve already got a couple Play Ones in there for music. Looking to pair them with either a Playbase or Beam Gen 2. I have an opportunity to get a new Playbase for $300. Vs $450 for the Beam Gen 2.  The TV is older so the lack of Dolby Atmos isn’t an issue at the moment. I am a bit concerned about future support for the Playbase. Not really concerned about not having Dolby Atmos in the bedroom. Any thoughts? Thanks :)
