What to get

hi, i'm moving into a new house that used to have a sonos set up. The wiring was attached to two zp80's as such... 1 speaker in two separate bathrooms attached to one zp80 and 1 speaker in the kitchen attached to another, which was subsequently fed into an amp (I believe) The amp and two zp80's have been removed leaving three speakers and the wiring. I think I would like to have two zone's (bathrooms and kitchen) and was wandering what the best way to approach this is. I am new to sonos so unsure how to go about this. Thanks in advance rich

I'm looking to begin my foray into sonos speakers. I am going to be purchasing the playbar soon and a new television. I have narrowed it down to these 3 options: Sony Bravia 55XD7005 Samsung UE55KU6400 LG 55UH661V I presume the Sony will function okay as its Sony? I know that the playbar works with an optical connection will the other two tv's be able to handle it ok without any issues? Cheers.

After getting used to the sonos set-up at work it's made me want to get it installed at home, but not wanting to spend a shed load!! Am I right in thinking all I need are the speakers I want and connecting them to my home WiFi? Or is it worth getting a bridge to keep away from home network? I was thinking for one of the larger speakers for the living dining room set in the middle and if they supply them a ceiling speaker for the kitchen and bathroom? Thanks for any help and advice? Like I said I'm not wanting to spend a lot which looks very easily done.

I set up Smart Bus Z audio Azaan module with Sonos connect amp via line in. I've noticed that it look normal while not on line in and play via mobile but it can become really hot while on line in and when track is playing which is almost 20 minute in length but volume lower than 50% it get extreme hot cant even touch it so plugged it off. Ii kept it on wooden cabinet which hanging on wall and alone in shelf without door. kindly give me suggestion what else i can do

I like what I've read about SONOS, but can't seem to figure out how to solve my situation. My use of the system would be more as a home theater as I will rarely be using for music alone. The real attraction is the wireless capability, and I really don't care much about streaming music. My current setup is an Onkyo AV receiver, ext. speakers + subwoofer. I tend to watch a lot of TV using a headphone, using the headphone jack on the AV receiver connected to a bluetooth transmitter. This is to avoid disturbing family, or while watching programs with lot of swear words / or when the kids are studying. This feature is a must, and as I understand, SONOS does not have a headphone out so I can't really do it on the standard setup. What are my options? Is there a way to connect SONOS to a AV receiver - for e.g. have all my sources connect to the AV receiver via HDMI (as I do now) and somehow get audio out to the playbar? I'm not very familiar with home theater setups but I just can't seem

I am interested in getting some Sonos equipment, but not necessarily the most expensive. I would like speakers in 3 rooms, and think 1 speaker in each would be fine. The options are a bit overwhelming, so would like input from those who have experience. Ideally, I would like to play one channel (from Calm) on all 3 simultaneously. I might start with 2 rooms, and then add one later, depending upon the cost. Thanks. Ruth McClain

I have a factory that I run a small crossfit style gym out of. I'm looking to upgrade my audio and like the look of the wireless speakers for the multi rooms, however I'm concious of the size of the main part of the gym. Would multiple of the bigger speakers suffice or do I need a commercial variety? Main gym area is around 200sqm and has a high roof.

So I currently have a play bar and 2 play 1's connected to the TV in the dining seating area, I have a play 1 in every bedroom and z play 5 in the loft room. I currently have nothing in the lounge connected to the TV, can I relocate the play 5 to use with the TV and buy 2 more play 1's or should I go all out and buy another play bar and 2 x play 3's??

Looking for a wall bracket for the new play 5 don't seem to be able to find one anywhere! Anyone got any ideas??

Hello I'm very interested in having a Sonos setup in my home. I have one big concern which is using the Sonos App When friends and family come around they will need to install the app to play music? Unless i have got the wrong end of the stick and we can stream directly from the Apple Music App? Thanks Mark

After reading several different sites for product descriptions and reviews I am still unclear if a single Play:3 system is right for me. I'd like to have 2 speakers in the living room setup as a pair and the other speaker upstairs in my bedroom. Is this possible with buying only one Play:3 system? My understanding of some of the descriptions is that all three of the speakers need to be in the same room (one for left, one for right, and they don't really say what the third one is for). My question is: Can I take the third one upstairs to my bedroom, or is that going to leave a void in the sound downstairs?

My system comprises an all British set of separates, including a pre-amp and mono blocs. It still sounds great after twenty years, but things change and technology marches on. Whereas I used to listen to CD's, I now stream my music via AirPlay. A Cambridge Audio DAC is the interface between the hifi and Apple TV. I'm considering selling the whole system and replacing it with Sonos kit, principally for music but also to integrate and upgrade my TV sound. My question is, should I expect the Sonos units to be truly comparable to the high end hifi I've known for years?

I realise at the outset that views shared here will be entirely subjective, but... I've finally taken the leap to Sonos (from a Heos Home Cinema) and I couldn't be happier at the moment. Everything has been flawless so far... simple setup, perfect integration, amazing sound quality. I initially went with a Playbar, two Play 1's as surround, and a Play 3 in the master. I opted NOT to go for the sub initially given the relative cost. With both the Heos and it's predecessor (a Pioneer system) I had a separate sub. Although the bass is clearly present when playing music on the Playbar, I'm not so aware of it on TV/films. So I'm looking for views from others both with the same config (playbar/play 1's) both with and without the sub. Did it hugely impact your experience adding the sub? Sonos decision Okay so here comes an odd and detailed question on sonos system. I traveled for work for many years and have accumulated 112K miles on United Airlines. I do not anticipate using them to fly so i would like to use them for expanding my sonos collection on their shopping site. That is my budget, 112k miles. The biggest problem i want to solve is i want my sonos to play my tv sound regardless of what is being input to it, (cable, Roku, Apple TV, dvd player). I currently do not have a receiver but it is an option. I know the simplest solution is the Playbar but the miles i have is only enough for the Playbar not the subwoofer. I have two problems with this. first, i already have a soundbar/wireless sub solution for the tv and its inputs which is okay sometimes except for the one situation that i am trying to solve. Just moved into now home with built in speaker system both inside and out. I do not have a receiver. Thinking about starting with a connect and connect am. Will I still need a receiver? Ultimately will also get the playbar and sub.

I have a stereo pr of play1's in my kitchen which I love but am splitting them in 2 upstairs rooms. Is it worth the extra to buy 2 new play3's for the kitchen . How mUchida better is the sound ?

Quite a simple really. I currently own two play:1 set as a stereo pair at one end of my open plan rectangle living room dining room (facing into the room from the dinning room end wall but clearly audible from the living room). They really are great speakers for the size and I am now looking into my next sonos purchase. These are the options I am considering; 1/ Add a sub to my current setup. 2/ Buy a play:5 to replace my current setup (which would then be distributed between the kitchen and bathroom) which would also allow me to add a record player in the future but loose out on the stereo separation I now enjoy. 3/ Buy a play:1 for the kitchen and for the bathroom. I had thought about the soundbar but I am a little put off by what I have read about DTS and TV pass-through issues. So tell me, what would you do?

Tired of wires. I currently own a Pioneer Elite 7.1 receiver. Running DVR, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV through it. Moved to a much smaller condo. Need sound! What would you recommend and how does it connect to my Pioneer receiver? Thanks, 59svj
