I've just noticed Amazon are listing the Sub as Gen 1, have they given something away there!

6year warranty as well, maybe sonos website could match that?

There is no gen1 and gen2, just a few cosmetic changes which some retailers seem to be identifying as gen1 and gen2, but Sonos have never used those terms.



Nothing has been given away.
It does however mean that you can pick up a sub for £100 less than you would have paid a few weeks ago, and it will be absolutely identical in technology and performance to the cosmetically-changed one.
CAVEAT EMPTOR.......what those retailers are promoting as a GEN 1 Sonos Sub is the Matt Finish that was a poor seller for Sonos. I've seen them and believe me....IMO the Gloss Finish has a much better look. Otherwise they are the same internally. Look closely at the photos in the adds (links).

I'm not convinced that that is the case for all retailers. Check it out for yourself
For example, the discounted "gen1" is described as gloss black at Richer Sounds (last few left so this link may not work for long)
