Can’t find the option anywhere in Sonos App. Need to disable Alexa.

Is there any planned update to the system to allow Alexa to default to Apple Music on Sonos speakers? I was able to do it on my echo dots, but my Sonos One and Beam are left out in the cold. Apple music is my default music provider.

Ducking seems to be fixed now. I have grouped my echo and Sonos devices in the Alexa app and ducking seems to only affect the Sonos device that is associated with the echo that processes the command.

So as of now Alexa now supports Apple Music. It works with my Echo Dot. Will Sonos be supporting voice services with Apple Music now as well? I know the official launch date is 12/17 so maybe I am a day early, however it is working on my Echo...Please Advise! Steve

Am I the only one that hates the idea of Alexa on my Sonos? I just want my music to play on my Sonos. I don’t need some device listening to me. Music. That’s all I want.

If not, can I return mine? Purchased in december. I have a daughter named Alexi soooooo, this isn't going to work. I had wrongly assumed Sonos One with Alexa would have the same functionality of other Alexa products. I love my other Sonos devices but this one is pretty much useless to me if I can't change the wake word.

So I was in the kitchen last night, I turn on the Play:5 using the Android controller. Now when in the living room when I tell my Echo Dot to turn on the lights the Play:5 goes quiet whilst Alexa is listening! Why does it do that?

Are there any plans to provide an option to turn off the 'ding' sound when using Alexa voice control on Sonos One? Amazon's own Alexa speakers do not have a sound like this.

When will Alexa voice profiles / household come to Sonos? I have a Beam and a Sonos One and love it but the Alexa functionality is really starting to lag. I live with my partner and we have different Amazon and Spotify accounts and we can't access them using our devices. The Amazon products have voice profiling that can figure out who is talking and then use their own amazon and Spotify accounts. This is super important for anyone with more than one person in a house. Can someone please update on the likely release of this functionality? Thanks 🙂

Tried to get Alexa to play a song and she says "Playing song on Amazon Music. Sorry device is offline." First, how do you fix this? Second, why can't this Sonos One work with Alexa for more than a few days? It's been a year long lesson in frustration with this thing.

I bought a Sonos ONE at the weekend. Mostly good - but have a frustration ... When playing a playlist or album I dont seem to be able to skip to the next track. If I try Alexa, next Alexa, skip Alexa, next track / song etc the Alexa just asks 'What do you want to play next?' I only want to go to the next track - whatever it is. Replying 'Next track' doesnt work either. how do I skip or go to next track?

Since adding a Sonos One into my existing Sonos setup, I've been plagued by audio dropouts and strange crackling noises. I have my Playbar ethernet wired in Boost mode, and I've previously had to troubleshoot the Sonos wireless channel in order to prevent my rear surround Play:1's and Sub from dropping out intermittently. I had it all working flawlessly, drop-out free, until adding the Sonos One last week. Now I'm having my Play:1's and Sub dropout intermittently during Spotify music and TV playback. Oddly, even the Playbar goes through weird bouts of crackling/dropping out...which I've never experienced before. The only thing I could conclude was the placement of the Sonos One interfering with my Airport Extreme router (they're on the same TV console shelf, about 2-3ft apart). I tried switching the Sonos wireless channel, to no avail. Same with doing a hard power-cycle on the Playbar, it only provides a temporary fix before the dropouts return. I have 2 Sonos Ones (both have Alexa built in)n and a Sonos Play 5. I asked Alexa to play music in bedroom, dining room and family room, then Alexa tells me I need to set up multi-room music on Alexa app. I checked internet to see how to do that and it says to go to "Audio Groups" in Settings but there is no Audio Groups shown in my Alexa app Settings.

This would make it easier to play my turntable on my Sonos 5 since I would no longer have to take out my phone and open the Sonos App. It would be awesome if this is possible. If it isn't, it seems like it should be an easy command to create. Thanks for any responses!

I’m one of those people who don’t feel comfortable having (specifically) Alexa-powered speakers all over the house. I also had invested entirely in home-wide Play:1s (with a Playbar and Sub to round out the TV) before the Sonos One came out. I’d like Airplay 2 and (eventually) HomeKit support. But it seems like unless I swap out my speakers for Sonos Ones, which would be an expensive endeavor, I’m S.O.L. Swapping out just one won’t do the trick, because — if I understand correctly — each Sonos One can only control the speakers it’s grouped with at any given time. I have 10 zones/rooms that I often group and ungroup from one another. So, if I’ve got to open the app to adjust the grouping first, it kind of defeats the point. Does it stand to reason that Sonos should be able to release a HomeKit Hub device (akin to Wemo or Hue) that would be able to interpret Siri commands on your phone as well as interface with HomeKit, and then relay that out to the appropriate legacy speakers (Play:

My setup is a Sonos Beam connected via HDMI to the HDMI ARC port of the LG TV. I also have a Verizon Set top box connected to the TV via another HDMI port. Alexa voice activation has been activated. Simplink is active, but displays on the LG menu as being associated with the cable box port. I am able to control volume, switch to music sources and switch back to TV via Alexa voice command, but I am not able to turn the TV on or off. So I'm not really sure what is happening, but I'm no sure how or if I can get the on/off function to work. any suggestions? thanks.

I've just installed a Beam and I'm trying to set it as the Alexa device for a group/room, but it doesn't show up as one. It does show as an Echo and Alexa device in the Alexa app.

Just noticed that in last few days when I say “Play X in bedroom” instead of the group that bedroom is in playing, bedroom is ungrouped and playback started independently. When did this change, is it configurable, and if not what’s the recommendation for how groups should work now? I have 10 zones and often listen in different combinations. My expectation is that I can address any member of a group to control the whole group. Am I supposed to create groups in the Alexa app and always start playback with them instead? That’s fiddly.

So, Alexa smart groups seem to be working. I have some smart lights and an Echo in the lounge along with a Sonos connect. In the kitchen I have more lights, another Echo and a Sonos Play:3 speaker. I can now create Alexa enabled smart groups, which means that when I'm in a room with an Alexa device, and I've defined the other devices in that room, I can now say "Alexa, turn lights on" and only the lights in that room come on, and I don't have to say the room name, or the light's names at all. This is a deliberate (and very good) move by Amazon to simplify the language you have to use with Alexa. My request would be, please, please, please, can Sonos make their Alexa skill work with this? This to me would seem to be the most logical way of fixing multi-room audio ducking as there should be a way for Alexa to work out that it only needs to duck Sonos speakers in the same room, which it can now work out. It would also be great if a Sonos device (or room group in Sonos)

Both of my ONEs now respond to all requests to play anything with the voice response 'Undefined'. Other Alexa commands (such as 'what's the weather today') work fine. I recently re-enabled the Alexa Sonos skill, so the problem may be related to that, or (less likely) the 9.3 update. Any ideas for an expedient fix? Thanks.

I have a stereo pair ones and all have worked well with Alexa until just recently when I noticed Alexa won’t stop playing when I say Alexa stop or Alexa stop Spotify. It hears what I’m saying since the confirmation sound comes but then it just ignores this command. She seems to think Spotify is not playing at all for some reason as I asked “what song is playing on Spotify” and the answer was “Spotify is not playing now” even though it was, and was even started by Alexa just a minute earlier. Anyone recognize this and/or have a solution?

Hi all, I'm very new to Sonos (have owned a Sonos One for about 3-weeks and I love it!) I have tried searching to no avail. Everything comes back saying that Alexa Routines are unavailable on the Sonos One, which I understand, but, with Prime Day coming soon, I was looking into an Echo Dot and didn't know if you can use the Sonos One as a speaker for the Echo Dot routine? Can I do the following: 1. On the Echo Dot, say "good morning". The Echo Dot will respond with some pre-determined phrase like "good morning". 2. The Echo Dot will then give me a weather update. 3. Then the Alexa Routine will play TuneIn Radio on the Sonos One. Many thanks in advance.

i have made some applets in ifttt using sonos , working all fine ( and I can give them a name or tittle I want)...and now I see that sonos has made some applets theirselves using 2 actions together ( which we can not do on our own if we make an applet) so now I wonder if we can rename that kind of pre build applets, this woud be very handy... (I use applet thats sets volume and the choice of favourite, working fine, but i can not rename that applet or widget, so i will never know which volume and favourite are underneath the widget button)... so either we can build own applets using more then one action, or we should be able to rename the pre build sonos apllets

Since I added a SonosOne to my existing setup (I already had a 5 and two 3's in my living room, hooked to my Dot, and another Alexa in the house), I've had Sonos start playing music randomly in the middle of the night a few times. They have all been days where I had played a lot of music ... can't imagine how that is related, but it seems like more than coincidence. I live alone and have no pets, so nothing could be causing this - doesn't make sense.

Hello, I have recently set up 2 Sonos ones as a stereo pair, they are very impressive! I have set up the Alexa app & Sonos app etc. This all seems to be working. I have some echos too. Also I don’t seem to be experiencing the irritating ‘ducking’ behaviour others have... maybe this has been fixed?
