Trying to set up the Alexa voice control in the sonos app But keeps saying Alexa Problem adding, have followed all the forums and a lot of people have had same issue, have re set up deleted apps made new accounts change time zones and tried every thing. I think it’s piss poor on sonos part that there is no help other than ringing them. If I don’t get it working they can stick the system and will use Bose

Hi, Normally I would not have a title as negative as this but I'm an hour in to opening my birthday present this morning - a Sonos One and rewind a few years when I was a little more hot headed I think it would already be out of the window. It's taken me two restarts to get it working but am experiencing the following problems: 1. I can control volume in individual rooms but not group volume. I currently have three different speakers in one room so this is problem for me. 2. It doesn't seem to recognize half the names of my play lists 3. When asking it to shuffle a currently playing playlist it switches a new recommended playlist from Amazon Are these all 'teething' problems and should I stick with it having now invested in one (excuse the pun) or send back and get a Play 1?

Having an issue where whenever I try to play something on Spotify on Sonos using Alexa, it's just coming up with 'To link your Spotify, please add a premium account in the Alexa app' even though I have already done this. When I try to play Spotify using just the Echo dot it's playing fine - just doing this when I want it to play on the Sonos! Anyone have any ideas? Thank you 🙂

Is the Alexa dot compatible with Sonos system? Can you play your Spotify music on Sonos via Alexa dot? Or do I need the Alexa spot? And does someone know if Alexa can create a shopping list for example and send it to your iPhone? Thanks a lot I'm so lost!

Sonos may play music streaming and music stored on your pc and smathphone through the wi fiSo you will not spend a lot of battery and the quality of sound is much better many peolpe prefer speaker that have bliuetooth like bose ( i did that but i was not satisfied. But i think it's worth to explein that if you have a sonos one you don't need bluetooth Do you agree on that? thank you

All my google minis are linked to my Sony Chromecast built-in Bravia TV's connected to Sonos Beams. "Hey Google, Play some Rock Music." "Ok, Playing some Rock Music you may like." The result plays the music on the linked TV and outputs sound to the Beams via HDMI. I understand the frustrations of others waiting for GA on Sonos but I am not sure that it would be any different than what I have setup now... pending an announcement of the integrated functionality. I used Amazon Alexa Voice service on Sonos and that was very frustrating for me. I always had to turn down the TV so she could hear my Queries on the beam. I also am waiting for a GA Update but more for the curiosity in me and not the necessity. I have read a-lot of the threads on here. Some pen some harsh words and negative comments about the wait. I enjoy all my Sonos products for what I bought them for... Quality Sound(IMO). Anything else is bonus. I was excited about airplay and use it for some cases but it didn't make my exp

So I've recently got a Sonos One. Set it up, works fine with the Sonos App, all I want really. Figured I'd give the whole Alexa thing a shot anyway. So I went through the setup. Logged in with Sonos, logged in with Amazon, installed the app. linked the accounts, enabled the skill, all dandy. - The Skill is enabled in Alexa. - The Sonos shows up in the list of devices. - Alexa answers questions on the Sonos (weather, news, etc.) just fine. However, if I ask Alexa to play any music, radio, whatever, it just keeps telling me to enable the Skill in the App, which I have. I've read various topic on "fixes" with various resets, deletions and all sorts of faffing about. The question is: Is there a way to get this to work without dancing around a fire and sacrificing a chicken? Edit: Yes, I did ask Alexa to find new devices. (And again after deisabling and enabling the Skill once more) It just tells me it couldn't find any new devices. So does the app when trying to discover

Hi, I'm trying to setup "Start Sonos When I Come Home" in my iPhone, but after I press the turn on button, in the configuration screen I can set the zone where I want it to detect that I'm near home and the "Include grouped rooms" options, but the other two options (What favorite ... and Where do you ..) combos, are not being populated with my Sonos information, so without that information, the applet can't be saved. Am I missing something? Thanks in advance for your support

I have an alarm set for every weekday, which I set through Alexa on my Sonos One. The Sonos One is grouped to a Play1. The alarm setting shows in the Alexa app as being set and on, yet it the alarm does not sound? This used to work perfectly but now does not work at all. I have checked the time and date settings in the Sonos app and everything looks fine. Not sure if it is from the latest update that it stopped working, Can anyone help?

Hi Sonos Community, I have trouble using Siri on my phone to with Sonos Beam. In a few videos I've seen that you can tell Siri, "play music in 'Name of Beam'. " However, Siri responds, "Sorry can't find that speaker". I am using the only name listed in the Sonos App, AirPlay2, and Homekit. They each have the same name. Can someone tell me what I could do to make this feature work? Luis

Here in the uk I can now add Apple Music as the default music service on the Alexa app. However when I ask my sonos beam to play music it still uses amazon music. It says it can’t use Apple Music if I specifically ask to play on Apple Music. Both the Alexa app and the sonos app are linked to the same Apple Music account. What am I doing wrong?!

Will the ability to control Apple Music through Alexa Voice commands ever come to Sonos?

Hello all, after using my new Sonos One in the Kitchen I'm a convert to voice control!. I have dug my Echo Dot out of it's slumber and set it up as a "Group" in the Living Room with my Playbar 5:1 system as preferred speaker. It works great, if the TV is on and I ask "Alexa, play Prodigy" the Playbar goes into music mode and streams Prodigy from Deezer. Excellent!. There are a couple of things though, first of all I can't work out how to switch back to TV input via voice control?, maybe this is a skill that needs to be added?. "Alexa, Play TV"?. Next up if I ask "Alexa, play Absolute Radio 90's", it will play out of the Echo Dot, rather than my preferred speaker. Am I asking the wrong thing or is it because the Dot doesn't class it as music?. At any rate it seems to be an improving system and I'll be buying a few more Ones, my daughter thinks it's ace!, "Alexa, play One Direction" is all she says now in the Kitchen!. Good work so far Sonos!.

Hi, my parents are deciding between an Apple Homepod and a Sonos One as their smart assistant. I was wondering if the two work together fairly easily? They have Apple Music - would the Sonos One be able to easily play music through the Bose soundbar? Thanks!

I bought the Sonos one in December 2017, telling everyone what a fantastic product this is, how wrong was I. 3 months later it keeps telling me “this device is offline” when I ask Alexa to play anything. I have reinstalled everything, rebooted everything, disconnected everything, reconnected everything, but still no joy. Sonos sort this out please it’s embarrassing what I read on these forums.....you should be ashamed.

Hi, I just picked up a Sonos One Gen 2 and i am trying to set it up with Alexa but i keep getting an error saying "there was a problem adding alexa" I have uninstalled and reinstalled both the sonos and alexa app. i have disconnected the device from alexa app. i have removed the authorisation from the amazon services area. ive tried disabling wifi and using ethernet just in case. i have also reset the sonos to factory settings. nothing seems to fix this issue. I'm in Australia if that matters. I see a few other topics are complaining about setting theirs up too and they seem to be in Australia as well.

I am working on a smart home design and as part of this am looking at Sonos and also being able to use the Alexa functionality of it for voice commands. I also want to be able to tell Alexa to play music or playlists off my local music library. If I'm running the SONOS desktop controller, are you able to do voice commands and have Alexa play music from your local collection?

Sonos, what have you done!? Just installed update 10.1 and my sonos devices have disappeared from the Spotify app and alexa no longer works. What's going on?

I have a Vizio 4k tv that is connected to beam with HDMI ARC with an Apple TV connected to the Vizio on another port via HDMI. When I call Alexa to turn on TV, my tv switches to the ARC input and I see a generic white screensaver thing. I have to manually switch to say HDMI 5 for AppleTV so I can watch something. If I turn off the TV with it last being on HDMI 5 and turn it back on using Alexa it goes back to HDMI ARC. How do I keep it at the Apple TV HDMI?

Would someone be so kind as to help clarify whether there is a function to ungroup all? I have three rooms set up in Alexa groups, each with an Alexa device and a Sonos speaker set as the preferred the speaker. I also have created one group called “everywhere” that contains all three Sonos speakers set as the preferred speakers. Most of the time I just listen to music in a particular room and the preferred speaker functionality works brilliantly, only having to ask the local Alexa to play music and not specify the room. Occasionally, I would like to play music in the whole house which I can do by saying “Alexa play music everywhere”. This creates a Sonos group with all three rooms in as expected. However, this group then sticks and asking for music in any room, even after stopping the previous music, seems to result in it playing on the whole group again. So, I know the Amp do does not have Alexa built in, but I like to use Alexa voice controls to start streaming music. Could I use an Echo dot connected to the line in jack on the Amp to stream music through speakers connected to the Amp? Seems like this should work.

When trying to add Alexa Voice Service through the Sonos app, I'm being directed to amazon.com and not amazon.co.uk to sign in. I don't have a .com account and need to be able to log in with .co.uk. I am pleased to announce a huge update to my Alexa skill for Sonos, "My Speaker". It allows you to do many things that the standard Sonos skill does not, such as playing your local Library, or Favorites, or Playlists, or services including Apple Music. It also allows access to normal Sonos groups (you can add and remove speakers by voice), and play things Everywhere. it does require a companion app (now available for iOS as well as Windows), and is only compatible with US Amazon accounts (not my fault). Setup is simple: no need to change the names of any speakers or anything, just say "Alexa, open My Speaker", login using your Sonos account, then install and run the companion app. If you have any support questions please PM or email me, this forum is NOT the place for support questions for my skill.

On either of my Sonos One devices, I wake up Alexa, ask her to play a song. She responds saying she will now play that song on Amazon Music, but the song never plays after that. This is not happening on my Echo Dot devices on the same network/account.
