OK I won’t moan in this thread about all the many missing features in the new app which renders the system not fit for purpose for a lot of people. What I will talk about is the design of the new app when dealing with my music library for example. So I go into my music library, choose Artists to list by Artist and then scroll through all the artists until I reach the desired one and then select the album and then the track to play. Now let’s say for example that I want to do something in another room or change something else that takes me away from the list of tracks that I’ve just chosen from. In the old app, because there are tabs, the list of tracks is kept there and is still there when I’ve finished the other stuff and gone back to the music tab. But in the new app, every time I’ve tried this, it has lost my place in the music library so I’ve had to select Artists, scroll all the way down to the desired artist and then select the album… etc etc. Every time you leave that screen you lo
Wie stelle ich hier auf deutsche Sprache um? Moderator Note - Translation by Google:How do I switch to German here?
Of course, this will never reach the glare of critical scrutiny... How many Cancelled Orders and Returns are being made on a daily basis since 7 May.?
Sonos App has always been awful and now the “update” has made me not use my Sonos system. I have had Sonos speakers for a long time and have always loved the sound. I now turn off the system and use my Bose headphones. If the app doesn’t get fixed, I will be selling my speakers and going with another company. I am tremendously unhappy and disappointed. Why can’t the app be as good as the speakers?
I see a lot of chatter about many topics. I also see a timeline for many inconsequential fixes.None of those will matter if we cannot activate new devices, we will all be bringing the stuff back. Hurry up sonos you look like idiots
I love the sound Sonos produces but it is infuriatingly unreliable. I find the system to drop of completely 2-4 times per year with speakers lost and very difficult to find on the app again and now since this update when I try to use my system at home after being connected to my system at work it wants me to rejoin the home system. We are also having so much trouble at work playing different music in different rooms at the same time. When we get it playing on one room it stops everywhere else. I’m getting to the point of completely getting rid of the system and getting something else.
Quite possibly the worst app enhancement I have ever seen. Honestly, quite brutal. Do the developers of such app enhancements even use Sonos in their homes???? By the looks of it, quite doubtful
Why can’t we just use the S2 app until this new POS is finished?!?
My Sonos Roam stopped turning on, and Sonos agreed to replace it. I sent the unit back in a month ago, and still have received no updates. I can’t get anyone on chat, and I waited for 20 minutes on hold via the phone and eventually gave up. Moderator edit: recorded and removed RO number (identifying information)
I have a Gen 3 sub that didn’t finish the update initially and that started my issues. When looking at others posts, I see a lot of people mentioning Gen 3 Subs. If I unplug my sub, my hardware issues seem to go away. Have other experienced the same thing? Sonos needs to identify the real issue and correct it. I also have eero router in my home mesh network. If you are seeing rooms go on and off your app, can you try and unplug all of a certain type and see if your system become at least stable? When I opened the app yesterday, I was greeted with a message that there was a new version I needed to download. I thought, yes!, maybe they found the error and corrected it.Nope. Or at least not the error causing my issues with my sub. Still crazy issues when the sub is connected. Seems fine when the sub is not powered on.I think I will officially give up for a little while and see if Sonos can get it together and fix these issues. Very disappointing update from a company that makes
the easiest solution here is for sonos to put up the old app along side the new one on all the app stores… please put the old app up while you work out the bugs (like you should have done) i am providing this feedback because i enjoy what the sonos ecosystem can provide.
Are people taking the day off work tommorow to rush out and buy the new headphones? Just asking......
What the hell have they done? Half the features in settings have gone layout I get errors. Can’t update albums please bring back S2. Why? Change things when it works fine 😡😡😡😡😡😡
I have been without a useable music system since the latest notorious “update”.In the absence of ANY help from SONOS I looked for a solution.i had demos of several systems and have just ordered a whole system from Bluesound. My new system mirrors the now junk Sonos system. 1x Bluesound power node Edge amp, 4x Pulse M speakers.
Lots of issues with the Sonos app already noted. the inability to add to a queue with multiple albums is one of the main reason why I use this :-(I am also having major issues accessing album libraries in Spotify and Soundcloud. It will not access these at all and I cannot add these into my favourites either. Hopefully a new version is release asap.
I use Sonos for years, to listen to my local music file. It is installed on my PC and my Android phone. I upgraded to the new app. The device is correctly recognized (Sonos one), BUT the program does not accept to connect to my local musical library on my PC, although I did not change anything to it ….When trying to “load” the library on sonos app on my PC, I got the following error message:“Impossible d’ajouter le dossier partagé //ASUS-JVDS/Musique à votre bibliothèque musiacle (913) “(Impossible to add the shared file …. to your musical library (913) ). That suppresses all interest to Sonos for me ! Crazy situation….
I updated the SONOS app as well as the Mac version. I now have no access to my Music Library. This all started when I was searching for a song- this functionality has been removed by the way. I could go on and on about the new app. It is very unstable, difficult to navigate and apparently was not tested. It seems a lot of functionality has been removed.Prior to update, I could not pin my imported playlists after searching for them which is almost impossible. The app continuously says the queue is empty when it “was” playing from my music library. None of the album covers display (not a big deal for me) but still an issue that was not tested.I have an extensive music library and my hope this issue will be resolved in the next day or so. Can I roll back to the old version? And, I noticed on the thread that a lot of folks found the music library after several hours- I can’t find the music source that folks mentioned on this community forum. Bottom line, I hate the new app. I am
When is Sonos going to take ownership of the disaster they have inflicted? Neither the PC app nor the phone app works right. I’ve lost my alarm capability. I spent at least an hour in chat trying to fix a PC app problem with function boxes opening off screen making them unusable. The support person kept asking what I wanted to do while ignoring the fact the boxes should appear entirely within the screen whether I wanted to do anything at all. I had to end the chat and call for level 2. I was told the estimated wait time was 70 minues. Sonos hung up after 63 minutes. The phone app doesn’t have the alarm function any more. I was told to use the PC app (see above). So, I have been suckered into buying hundreds of dollars of equipment just so Sonos can screw me over with their software.
My sub won’t reset after downloading the new app it worked perfectly fine. Until this new app and unplugged it moved it to another area in the house and now it’s just flashing white and orange lights. I tried downgrading and received this message. Tried connecting to the new app I press the button and no luck. Spoke to Sonos the said they’ll offer me 30% off a new product. My Arc works fine my Era 300s just started working correctly yesterday. My play ones wouldn’t connect but now they are long story short I need a sub to complete what I had. Has anyone else been offered this 30% off a sub which will still be over 600$. Why should I pay for something the company caused to fail with the app. Also I’m told to send it back to get the 30% off, why so they can fix it and sale it refurbished for 650$
I would REALLY like to be able setup preset buttons for volume levels, 2-3 would be fine, more if possible. where did the numbers go for the volume slider in the new app version? I liked them for quick adjustments.
How do I get my Old App Back? Where is my album art, I shouldn’t have to fix your apps issuesDoes any one test run these updates before releasing them.I agree with other contributors please give us the old app back NOW!
Wait, you are phasing out the desktop app in favor of a web app?? I live in a remote area, and Sonos has always worked without internet, our internet sucks at times. So without a desktop app, how will Sonos reach my large music file on my computer? This isn't what I wanted when I invested money in speakers. Will be looking at other options and not buying any more Sonos if this is the case. Why are you guys destroying what Sonos was supposed to be? Sounds like you are losing lots of customers this way....
As the title states. My family needs to control the alarm function for their respective speakers. Why does this now require the app to have full system control? Please change this back to prior function level. I do not want anyone connected to the system to have access to that level of control, aside from myself.
I have seen the firestorm break out in 2020 over S2 and a bigger one now over the May 24 App.My view, for someone to take forward inside Sonos in any way that makes sense. If it makes sense.Sonos hardware is neutral to what it plays. It will serve just as well for Apple Music as it will for Spotify. Or for radio stations. Or even, let us remember, for local libraries on a NAS. Obviously this is the sensible thing to do, as compared to offering hardware that only plays music via Sonos; letting users choose from providers that do music services best, is the approach that has worked very well till now.Why can the same thinking not guide how the app works? I will take a simple use case to elaborate, of someone using Sonos hardware for playing music from Spotify and from a local NAS. Also for simplicity, let us keep aside the SMB stuff where local NAS is concerned. In the above use case, the Sonos control app needs to do just two things - first, to set up and configure Sonos hardware and the
Since the New ‘improved’ app came out and the latest firmware releases All my speakers are horribly unreliable.I also can no longer stream Apple music . i have removed and reset and reinstalled and factory reset and re-added and reregkstered and still extreme disfuntion. heck for a while my beam and Sub mini were coming on and off at extreme volumes and was incredibly annoying ( hard power cycle has seemed to help that one ) I am to the point i may take them all to Goodwill and let some other poor soul experience these things . Surely, i am not the only one !!! I know sorry i won’t call you Shirley…
