Have a chat with other Sonos owners. What's going on in the world of music and technology? What's playing?

I have been without a useable music system since the latest notorious “update”.In the absence of ANY help from SONOS I looked for a solution.i had demos of several systems and have just ordered a whole system from Bluesound. My new system mirrors the now junk Sonos system. 1x Bluesound power node Edge amp, 4x Pulse M speakers.
Lots of issues with the Sonos app already noted. the inability to add to a queue with multiple albums is one of the main reason why I use this :-(I am also having major issues accessing album libraries in Spotify and Soundcloud. It will not access these at all and I cannot add these into my favourites either. Hopefully a new version is release asap.
I use Sonos for years, to listen to my local music file. It is installed on my PC and my Android phone. I upgraded to the new app. The device is correctly recognized (Sonos one), BUT the program does not accept to connect to my local musical library on my PC, although I did not change anything to it ….When trying to “load” the library on sonos app on my PC, I got the following error message:“Impossible d’ajouter le dossier partagé //ASUS-JVDS/Musique à votre bibliothèque musiacle (913) “(Impossible to add the shared file …. to your musical library (913) ). That suppresses all interest to Sonos for me ! Crazy situation….
I updated the SONOS app as well as the Mac version. I now have no access to my Music Library. This all started when I was searching for a song- this functionality has been removed by the way. I could go on and on about the new app. It is very unstable, difficult to navigate and apparently was not tested. It seems a lot of functionality has been removed.Prior to update, I could not pin my imported playlists after searching for them which is almost impossible. The app continuously says the queue is empty when it “was” playing from my music library. None of the album covers display (not a big deal for me) but still an issue that was not tested.I have an extensive music library and my hope this issue will be resolved in the next day or so. Can I roll back to the old version? And, I noticed on the thread that a lot of folks found the music library after several hours- I can’t find the music source that folks mentioned on this community forum. Bottom line, I hate the new app. I am
When is Sonos going to take ownership of the disaster they have inflicted? Neither the PC app nor the phone app works right. I’ve lost my alarm capability. I spent at least an hour in chat trying to fix a PC app problem with function boxes opening off screen making them unusable. The support person kept asking what I wanted to do while ignoring the fact the boxes should appear entirely within the screen whether I wanted to do anything at all. I had to end the chat and call for level 2. I was told the estimated wait time was 70 minues. Sonos hung up after 63 minutes. The phone app doesn’t have the alarm function any more. I was told to use the PC app (see above). So, I have been suckered into buying hundreds of dollars of equipment just so Sonos can screw me over with their software.
My sub won’t reset after downloading the new app it worked perfectly fine. Until this new app and unplugged it moved it to another area in the house and now it’s just flashing white and orange lights. I tried downgrading and received this message. Tried connecting to the new app I press the button and no luck. Spoke to Sonos the said they’ll offer me 30% off a new product. My Arc works fine my Era 300s just started working correctly yesterday. My play ones wouldn’t connect but now they are long story short I need a sub to complete what I had. Has anyone else been offered this 30% off a sub which will still be over 600$. Why should I pay for something the company caused to fail with the app. Also I’m told to send it back to get the 30% off, why so they can fix it and sale it refurbished for 650$
I would REALLY like to be able setup preset buttons for volume levels, 2-3 would be fine, more if possible. where did the numbers go for the volume slider in the new app version? I liked them for quick adjustments.
How do I get my Old App Back? Where is my album art, I shouldn’t have to fix your apps issuesDoes any one test run these updates before releasing them.I agree with other contributors please give us the old app back NOW!
Wait, you are phasing out the desktop app in favor of a web app?? I live in a remote area, and Sonos has always worked without internet, our internet sucks at times. So without a desktop app, how will Sonos reach my large music file on my computer? This isn't what I wanted when I invested money in speakers. Will be looking at other options and not buying any more Sonos if this is the case. Why are you guys destroying what Sonos was supposed to be? Sounds like you are losing lots of customers this way....
As the title states. My family needs to control the alarm function for their respective speakers. Why does this now require the app to have full system control? Please change this back to prior function level. I do not want anyone connected to the system to have access to that level of control, aside from myself.
I have seen the firestorm break out in 2020 over S2 and a bigger one now over the May 24 App.My view, for someone to take forward inside Sonos in any way that makes sense. If it makes sense.Sonos hardware is neutral to what it plays. It will serve just as well for Apple Music as it will for Spotify. Or for radio stations. Or even, let us remember, for local libraries on a NAS. Obviously this is the sensible thing to do, as compared to offering hardware that only plays music via Sonos; letting users choose from providers that do music services best, is the approach that has worked very well till now.Why can the same thinking not guide how the app works? I will take a simple use case to elaborate, of someone using Sonos hardware for playing music from Spotify and from a local NAS. Also for simplicity, let us keep aside the SMB stuff where local NAS is concerned. In the above use case, the Sonos control app needs to do just two things - first, to set up and configure Sonos hardware and the
Since the New ‘improved’ app came out and the latest firmware releases All my speakers are horribly unreliable.I also can no longer stream Apple music . i have removed and reset and reinstalled and factory reset and re-added and reregkstered and still extreme disfuntion. heck for a while my beam and Sub mini were coming on and off at extreme volumes and was incredibly annoying ( hard power cycle has seemed to help that one ) I am to the point i may take them all to Goodwill and let some other poor soul experience these things . Surely, i am not the only one !!! I know sorry i won’t call you Shirley…
The new app is absolute garbage and I don’t know what’s going on. I had no problems with the prior version and all My speakers (I have about 12) all worked seamlessly. Ever since I downloaded the new app I have had problems. Can I get the old app back?
SonosI’m sick of your products, constant dropping of internet connects and speakers are frustrating enough but then you add an app that is completely untested and sucks! Now I can’t connect half my system, nor can I connect to same sounds. For a technology company your products are awful. I did t have half the problems I have with my Bose system. Everyday I have to fix something, please get your act together and fix these tech issues!
I wish at least for a public apology and consequences for those who decided to roll out this app in this way.The decision to spend money on a Sonos system is based on trust in the system provider.Sonos has bitterly disappointed and permanently destroyed this trust with this update. If Sonos does not take swift action to restore this trust, it could cause existential problems for Sonos.
So, you're dumping your Sonos devices... What alternatives are there? (OR. Install LMS - LYRION MUSIC SERVER - and keep your existing speakers as LMS endpoint players)
I have a case of Boosts I bought in September from Sonos, as well as inventory including Play1, Play5, Ports, and Amps.Sonos app 80.xx just turned my Boosts into bricks, as well as dissabling most of my customers’ systems.I expect it’s illegal to abandon Boosts so soon after actively selling them. I also expect a very expensive class action law suit will follow. Unfortunately, I can no longer recomend Sonos to my customers, because I can no longer trust Sonos. You’ve embarrased me for the last time.Prove me wrong, Sonos. Roll back the update!
Just received an email regarding a new Sonos product that’ll be announced this week. After the latest SW debacle I’m shocked Sonos would try to release a new product..As a Sonos user for more that 10 years I can honestly say there’s no way I’d consider another Sonos product until the SW issues are fixed!!Your thoughts..
The new app is garbage. We all know that. So does Sonos’ management. Have they rolled it back to the previous version? No. Instead they tell us it took “courage” to do this. I think it took stupidity. There is nothing redeeming about a company that screws its customers the way that Sonos has with this new app. After a decade and half of Sonos products, I will never buy another Sonos product nor recommend them to anyone, as long as the current management is employed.
Edit:I urge you to reconsider the recent update to the Sonos app and evaluate the possibility of reverting to the previous version. The new version has failed to meet user expectations and appears to have been developed without adequate consideration for cus
When will Sonos leadership address users, investors and media concerns about the new 80 app? How long does the world have to wait to hear what happened and what you all plan to do and when?
No way will I buy this new Sonos product, probably the headphones. Sonos cant get it together these days. Lost faith in them and at this point, wouldn’t recommend Sonos to anyone.
If you are having success with the new app please don’t comment on topics and others frustration about the app. Us that’s having problems like products not working not connecting won’t update etc. due to the app. Even if we have the latest version fastest internet/wifi it doesn’t matter it’s the app. I’m happy for those the app didn’t affect. But for us who have useless products right now you’re not helping the issue by saying the app is great good luck. Please stop.
When will you replace this beta application full of bugs you have send out? it is slow, no logic at all in the interface, looks like something made by a preschool kid.it can’t be on purpose you have released it? /Lars
I can not Update my speaker. There is a constant loop saying log in to owner account. But nowhere to log out. Come on Sonos. You must solve this. Now
