+1I have been without a useable music system since the latest notorious “update”.
In the absence of ANY help from SONOS I looked for a solution.
i had demos of several systems and have just ordered a whole system from Bluesound.
My new system mirrors the now junk Sonos system.
1x Bluesound power node Edge amp, 4x Pulse M speakers.
I estimate a cost of 2200 😋

Just a cursory look into LYRION showed it’s not for me.
My time is money and I just want to play my music and not fart about with some amateur tinkerers project.
The other system I am drawn to is the Denon, Richer sounds have great prices on the Denon system for VIP members and I may dabble with Denon in the other property.

Point taken, and this is what I did in 2020 when I got fed up with the Sonos hissy fit at that time; I could do that for two reasons - one that all my Sonos kit had line in jacks. And two, most of my music listening had moved from local NAS to Spotify.
I wired Echo Show devices to the Sonos line in jacks that had been configured to autoplay. Today, this is still working flawlessly. The only time I use the Sonos app now - which is S1, so untouched in today’s storm - is for playing from the local NAS. Even that is usually done by using the hard stop/start button on the Sonos unit in the zone.
If I was building a system anew, I would use third party kit downstream of the Echos, but I would do that only after the Sonos kit dies a natural death.
Echo may be limited in flexibility as a smart front end for music, but it is very stable. Unlike what I read about the apps of the many non Sonos makes in the market today. On the other hand, the native Spotify app that can cast to Echos, is sophisticated enough for my music play needs.
