This whole thing is a joke, I honestly don’t understand how this could happen. In order to launch an update like this, dozens of people need to go through this project, and it’s just impossible that they “missed” all these things. It’s screaming high level incompetence, it’s screaming higher-ups that don’t listen to feedback, it sounds like a company that does not even understand their customers. But even when I say, “it sounds like a company that does not even understand their customers” it makes no sense, because I’m very sure that 90% of Sonos staff go home and listen to these speakers too, so why would they make their own speakers worse? These speakers are very much a home appliance, and it’s utterly unacceptable to take features away from users.I demand Sonos to revert to the previous version of the app, and in the meantime maybe launch a beta for this new redesign.
Afternoon everyone, I’m building a 24’x36’ garage gym and want to build a surround sound system that will rattle your bones when lifting. I powerlift and want something that melts your face when you’re going for a personal record on deadlifts or heavy squats! I know very little about what setup would be the best to go with and was hoping for some guidance and recommendations on what you think would be the best for that. I appreciate any feedback.
Hi, Where in the new app do I find the favourite radio stations? I used this extensively in the old. And myTuner does not work anymore. The stations provided cannot be played, I get an error. I have a device with the old app and everything still works fine.
Moderator Edit - Translation by Google:Please make the old app available again in the AppStore (iOS)!! The new app was installed and nothing has worked since then!! My system cannot be found - I can't set it up again either!this is really the last one!!!!
Hi guys! I have two questions:Got the new Sonos app version 80 yesterday. Today i updated my sonos products. As i understand it the software for the sonos speakers should also be 80, but in my case all my products are version 78.1-5202. Is this normal? If i click on system update the app says there are no updates available. Where can i see status about Sonosnet in the new app? The old one said WM:0 (i believe) but this has been removed from system information.
I just installed the new app and at first sight it‘s totally crap :(First thing I want/need to do is set a new alarm clock for tomorrow morning… hard to find the function at all. Easy access is something different… setting new times is not possible - function will be available with future updates… honestly????please tell me this is not what you really release! Give me back the old app! Now!!!
Hi, Unfortunately I've just updated to the terrible new app and can’t find where to change from Dark Mode to Light mode. Also, the recent AMA, the Sonos staff kept referring to being able to customise the home screen layout to how you like it, but i can’t find any option to do that. i’m just stuck with this awful mess. regarding the light mode, sonos give instructions in the link below, but under my app preferences settings menu, i only have general and product setup, nothing about appearance.https://support.sonos.com/en-gb/article/enable-dark-mode-or-light-mode-in-the-sonos-app Thank you in advance :)
Ive had an amp, soundbar and surround speakers working fne in the lounge. The speakers did play full music when music was playing and auto switched to surround when the TV was on. all good. But now there is no music or surround coming form the speakers. They are connected as i can hear the tone when i change the amps volume. Ive tried disconnecting the surrounds and re connecting and it says they are - but no sound. any thoughts on what i’m missing? thanks in advance.
I have a client who has in-wall subs that are connected to an amp in the rack. When using an Arc or Beam for front stage, it would sure be nice to be able to use the sub output from a Sonos Amp functioning as the rear surround amp. I find it hard to believe this isn’t possible to fix via a firmware update. At the very least, there should be a way to use a Port as a dedicated sub pre-amp. Also, it would be nice to be able to use a Sonos Amp to run front height or width Atmos speakers in addition to an Arc. Again, this seems to be something these devices are already physically/technologically capable of, but just need to be updated.
How can I disable Trueplay, my iPhone 7 is no longer supported, the new app just crashes and refuses to open on my chrome book, there is no option on the new app on my amazon fire tablet, and I cant seem to find it on the windows 10 desktop app?
Since I updated the SONOS app to the new version I started having the following problems with my system (consisting of two SONOS FIVE, two SONOS ONE, a SUB, a PLAYBASE, a PORT and a SONOS ONE SL):- Any attempt to play music goes through automatic room selection. Always the same!. The only option is to turn on the music in this room and then "move" it to the desired room.- The volume control has a delay of several seconds. Very annoying - All but one of the speakers (hardwired) are on SONOS NET but in the system settings they appear to be unconnected to wireless.I guess I will adapt to the new interface although it’s less intuitive than the old one.Has anybody in this community encountered the same issues? Can one downgrade to the previous version?
Sonos app forced an update this evening. WHY?After updating to the new app last week which is a bleeping disaster. Created a workaround using my computer (I DO NOT STREAM MY MUSIC IS ON A LOCAL LIBRARY), my iphone and ipad. This evening the app forced another update NOW everything is MUCKED UP. The sonos (windows) app does allow me to set up the library. GUYS are you outsourcing your app development to the neighborhood coding schools for kids. FIX THE ISSUE. I have over $3k+ invested in Sonos products as of last week they are worth less than 6 used bricks!!!! Can I get my hard earned money back?
No Native SONOS app for macOS and Windows any more. This is unacceptable. Web app is slow and laggy!
Where do I get the old IOS version of the controller? The current version has way too many features and functions that are still broken. I would rather use the old version until the new app is out of development.
Hey all, Any idea how to block updates to the Windows Desktop app? Can’t find the answer anywhere. Thank you!!!
I posted issues about the Android app and the non-performance of the web app in the post linked below , unfortunately with no progress yet. Today I just updated the new release, it opens a little quicker now but fails to show many graphics and artwork. Even if you leave it, the images never arrive. Here’s some screen shots showing the issue…. It also says “unable to load content” under Amazon Music….
Morning all. Like the look of the new app and good to see developments. But I see two issues upon first usage, which would be good to get some help with please:Significant delay on opening the app on Android 13 on Sony Xperia 1 III. The page opens and says it’s looking for your system (which is all there) but it takes a good 30 seconds to find it. WIFI is very strong multiple wifi6 sat’s and all up to date. Web Version …. opens and looks good but then says ‘internal error’. Laptop is Win11, fully up to date, brand new and very vanilla high end Dell unit with few apps loaded and all, again, very vanilla run of the mill things … nothing fancy. Screenshot below …. can post one of the Android error as well.Appreciate any help. It’s a new thing and I guess updates are already in the mix to iron out issues. Many thanks
I have just created a music room to enable me to listen to Sonos - via Sonoa Amp or a Cyrus system to play CD’s to the same speakers, connected to a speaker switch. After connecting up with the switch connected to Sonos I can start to play music but as soon a I increase the volume the sound stops and the Amp shows a flashing red light.I have now seen some posts around this subject and looking for advice - I just bought a relatively cheap (non powered) speak switch on Amazon.Any advice greatefully received
Lately I can’t get customer service on the phone I’ve called three separate day and have waited from 45 minutes to a nearly an hour and 30 minutes and they still doesn’t answer. I’ve used my Pandora Plus with no advertising account on my Sonos for years but lately it’s playing ads and it’s not Pandora
This page relates to the S1 app, and the older S2 app. For instructions on how to use the newest Sonos app (released 7th May 2024, and has a black icon), please visit https://en.community.sonos.com/the-new-sonos-app-229144.Hi!So you’ve bought your first Sonos speaker, plugged it in, downloaded the Sonos app and completed setup. Now what? This is not a comprehensive guide to using the Sonos apps and their features, but an introduction to you as a new Sonos user so you better understand the basics of use, what the differences in apps are, and the beginnings of what the apps can do for your new Sonos system. If you are looking for help in how to use the Sonos app and you don’t find it here, please visit our support pages and search for keywords, or ask a question in our forums - we have a very helpful community.Like all apps, ours have minimum system requirements but unlike others, if these are not met the Sonos app may still be able to run in a limited-compatibility mode whereby it can st
I’m a collector of live music. I have all my music stored in iCloud using Apple Music. After upgrading to the new app and setting Favorites flags on several albums, most of the album art is missing and won’t load.
I wanted to upgrade to arc from playbar taking advantage of the 30% discount and being able to sell playbar for £200.... Expensive hobby but WOW atmos is immense.Luckily was able to use my sub and 2 play 1s after a bit of faffing updating them, but play 5 was gen1, as was my zone player which linked my rega turntable. Sold both already! Also upgraded to the port (managed to bag a new one/unused off ebay for £200) and bought an ikea bookshelf speaker - really is a decent bit of kit for not a lot of money - £115 posted.I'd recommend an upgrade to arc and replacing other speakers with ikea. However the system did drop once already. Hoping that doesn't happen frequently. Restarted phone and it resolved itself.
Hi,I have had Sonos for many year, using 2 zone players to drive some hi-fi bookshelf speakers. This has worked well but we are now renovating and looking at the ERA 300 mounted on high on the wall to free up some space. These will be for music only not TV. I’m not interested in having built in speakers. Most of the listening will be in the sitting and dining area, I’m wanting to fill the space with music. Not intending on critical listening so thought ERA 300 will be better than Play 5sThe plan is to put an ERA 300 at points 1 and 2 on the diagram below. I have a few questions:I presuming that ERA300 would be powerful enough for this space? Number 2 will be near the ceiling so I will install the ERA 300 upside down, I presume that number 1 should also be placed upside down to match even though the ceiling is higher on that side? (see second pic for ceiling difference) As the speakers are so far apart (5m) I’m presuming they should be set up as separate zones rather than a left and rig
Hi all, this is a somewhat advanced setup I suspect. For using Sonos with a local music provider exposing the subsonic protocol, the Open Source project bonob provides an integration with Sonos (https://github.com/simojenki/bonob).Note the word “local” - this is happening on the local network entirely and works great with one minor exception. The “old” search is fine. However, https://docs.sonos.com/docs/add-search#all-search-category requires the media provider/content service to be exposed to the Internet (so that it is reachable from Sonos’s cloud). For a local service, that’s obviously a non-starter.(I’m a bit confused why a search has to be routed through Sonos’s servers in the first place (the client obviously already has access to the content providers, otherwise it couldn’t play the media?) and would be curious about the rationale; why does Sonos need to see all my searches? I have data privacy questions. But let’s not go there for now :) )More importantly, I wonder if the “old”
