I have a new Sony A95L QD-OLED and have connected my arc, sub and 2 1’s. I use the app and I can only get Dolby multichannel PCM 2.0. I had an older Sony and could away get Dolby 5.1 with the same set up.
What am I doing wrong?

I don’t do much tv helping but if you search here on Sony you should find posts on the settings you need.
Try this under under Display & Sound/Audio output settings…
eArc Mode: Auto
Digital audio out: Auto 1
Dolby Digital Plus output: Dolby Digital Plus
Pass through mode: Off
