Apparently the executives of Sonos are frat boy so they don't understand the concept of informed consent. A horrible update was forced upon me without my consent. And now the products that I spent thousands of dollars on are no longer worth a dime. When I made a comment on this forum about that situation someone hid my comment in a much larger multi-page thread without my consent. When I made that comment they also added that comment as one of my favorites without my consent so that now I have to go in and figure out a way to take it off of my favorites so that I will stop getting emails every single time someone else posts a comment on a thread that I had nothing to do with. I posted my own. My own comment was moved so that it would get it hidden and I would still receive email after email after email every time someone else makes a comment in someone else's thread that has nothing to do with me. Informed consent is important in private life and public life and professional life. Hi allI have two CR200 running inside an up-to-date S1 system, it works perfectly.I saw this topic here: It works. These devices are one of the reason, why Sonos split the devices into S1 and S2 devices.I have them running since 10 years, and I always did an update. I just recently had to reset my configuration, and it was a challenge to get them back into the system.When adding the CR200, I found, that one player must be connected with a LAN cable to the router directly.It does not work, if the LAN connected player is behind a bridge (what I normally have). After it is added, there still must be one player LAN connected, but then it can be behind a bridge. I guess this has to do with a network broadcast message, which does not go through a bridge. If anyone is interested in more details, feel free to answer here.

We’re using the API to send playback commands to our Port, and I have noticed that the GROUP_ID is changing at random.My understanding is that the GROUP_ID is the parent which holds playback devices, unique like the HOUSEHOLD_ID.What could ever cause the GROUP_ID to change, and for what purpose, since this causes commands to obviously fail since the resource is no longer available.

went outside to listen to some music on a warm spring day. opened the S2 app and discovered it had been “upgraded”. and it demanded I “sign in” before allowing me to access my own property. After several minutes of trying to work around the thing I finally relented and went down to the basement to look up my Sonos credentials. which the app decided were invalid. This is not the first time I have suffered through one of Sonos’ completely unnecessary and unavoidable updates. So I gots to ask, why would anybody spend more for this intrusive crap than any one of the less expensive systems available?

Hello, i’m looking to buy the Japan set of the Sonos Beam. Japan uses 100v and has 50-60hz. Singapore uses 230v and 50hz. The beam specs are 100-240v, 50/60hz  will it work? also, should i buy the Singapore cable, or should i use an adaptor for the japan plug? 

All the things I used to like about the Sonos listening environment are gone.  Search for an artist, play one song now or add to end of queue.  Seems like all you can do is play an entire album from an artist and not select individual songs.  The thing I always loved about Sonos was that I could sit on my patio and queue up 20 songs and relax.  There seems to be no way to create a playlist on this new app?   I see they’re probably making the app so it relies on the playlists already built in your connected music services.  That’s fine but they better smooth out and advance this new app quickly.   Rating:  F+

I have a new Sony A95L QD-OLED and have connected my arc, sub and 2 1’s.   I use the app and I can only get Dolby multichannel PCM 2.0.   I had an older Sony and could away get Dolby 5.1 with the same set up.   What am I doing wrong? Thanks,  

Looking to understand if there are any issues etc.  Also are there any alternative wifi sub’s that are better and will work with the sonos amp and keff wired speakers? many thanksM

My Sonos app just updated which prompted my Sonos Move and Play 1 speakers to update. In the updating process, these two speakers are not connecting to my system with a “Not Registered “ message for both. I cannot reach tech help for assistance. Any guidance to correct this matter? 

Is there a EULA to cover the change in the way the New App manages and exposes our speakers to the Cloud and Internet?I have not knowingly agreed to a EULA that allows my speakers to:Be managed from the Cloud  Be accessible from the InternetTo the best of my knowledge what I have agreed to is that:My speakers will communicate with the Cloud for essential maintenance tasks like registration and updates Be accessible by me on my private WiFi.This paradigm shift in the way that our speaker and data is accessed should have been clearly communicated and agreed before the New App was installed.

The S2 update is one of the worst music control systems I have ever used! Please make the last version myself and over 200 of my Sonos clients loved and enjoyed available again!!! Thanks Please stop sucking!Thanks

How do I add new songs to my playlists?

I use my Sonos to listen to music (Spotify etc.), but I also use it as a Surround system for my TV. With the new app switching from music to TV is tiresome. Music does not switch off, I cannot find the TV sign, It only switches on one speaker, if I finally find it. It takes long to stop music/Spotify. With the old app it was much easier. Everything takes ages now. Who can give me tips?

I am sorry if this has been raised elsewhere, but prior to the release of version 80 of the Sonos app I was very pleased and happy with my system as it worked very reliably and was a welcome upgrade to my previous Libra tone.However, since the release of version 80 of this app many features have disappeared but most importantly, my Sonos move 2 is often apparently offline even when it is continuing to play streamed music, and when trying many functions I often get the message an error something went wrong, but when trying a few seconds later the error goes away. An excellent system has been turned into an absolute waste of time money and space!All of my absent my systems are up to date and my internet connection is provided by Virgin Media and my whole system is managed and controlled by a comprehensive and fully managed Ubiquiti UniFi. 

Not going to re-hash the omni-shambles the recent app updates has been but we’ve been re-assured that we can keep searching Music Library on desktop controller. Well yesterday I could search my NAS stored Music Library and today Music Library as a source has disappeared. I am seeing an update Now option. Really Sonos? Why would I do that? Music Library disappearing from Desktop controller has been a long established bug but always has re-appeared if I close and re-open program on Mac. Not now. What else will break if I update controller on Mac? Also Mac updates haven’t worked for over a year meaning had to update manually by downloading updater.

Hi Sonos Team and Community,I really like the new App and just discovered the WebApp which is a really cool additional remote control option. However the “Now Playing” screen is nor working for me - not on Chrome and not on Edge (see Screenshot below). BTW: Please also add a AppleTV App which should be quite simple now leveraging the WebApp..ThanksJesko  

I don’t want to repeat what other users already posted about missing functions (playlist,…..). Just want to add one function I am missing when you play music is the mute all button. Secondly I was hoping that in the settings for each room the “Sound” settings would be moved on top since it is more likely to change these settings more often. How often do you add or remove a speaker or rename the room? Probably never. I suggested this long time ago but Sonos is ignoring this request.It would be nice to have the quick settings like the equalizer back. I was hoping that with the new version other settings would be added when the system has it available (e.g. surround). With the new app it is very cumbersome to get there. The room list is confusing too. Especially when music groups are used and when I want to assign a different station to one of the rooms in the groups. New app seems to be very slow sometimes too compared to the old one. I have Arc full home theater setup with an lg cx and apple tv 4k. Watching Paramount + on Apple TV vs LG. The picture is so much better through Apple TV but I get a really soft Stereo PCM setting. If I watch directly through the tv, the picture is not as sharp and I get that garbled mess of a description but it’s loud and sound pretty good but not quite Atmos and it feels like it’s not full. Not looking for a fix necessarily more just thoughts and opinions on why it is what it is.

Have a new Era 300 and Line-In function is NOT working at all. I have several 3.5mm to USB-C adapters and have tried them all with no success. A factory reset of the Era 300 also made no difference. The app shows Disconnected even when the cable is connected. Do I really need to spend the $19 of the “official” Sonos brand line-in adapter for this to work or should any other brand theoretically do the trick. Or is there another problem here?

This whole thing is a joke, I honestly don’t understand how this could happen.In order to launch an update like this, dozens of people need to go through this project, and it’s just impossible that they “missed” all these things. It’s screaming high level incompetence, it’s screaming higher-ups that don’t listen to feedback, it sounds like a company that does not even understand their customers.But even when I say, “it sounds like a company that does not even understand their customers” it makes no sense, because I’m very sure that 90% of Sonos staff go home and listen to these speakers too, so why would they make their own speakers worse?These speakers are very much a home appliance, and it’s utterly unacceptable to take features away from users.I demand Sonos to revert to the previous version of the app, and in the meantime maybe launch a beta for this new redesign.

Afternoon everyone, I’m building a 24’x36’ garage gym and want to build a surround sound system that will rattle your bones when lifting. I powerlift and want something that melts your face when you’re going for a personal record on deadlifts or heavy squats! I know very little about what setup would be the best to go with and was hoping for some guidance and recommendations on what you think would be the best for that. I appreciate any feedback.
