Can the Sonos Port take an analog input and stream it wirelessly to the Sonos Arc? If so, are there any special setup instructions? example: I do not own a tuner. I am running my audio from an analog source into the port. I would like the port to send the music wirelessly to the Sonos Arc. Is this possible? Can it send to more than one Sonos Speaker?

Moderator note: This article was updated in December 2024. This article will help clarify what surround sound is, and answer some common questions about using Sonos surround sound setups. So if you’re wondering: Why don’t I hear anything from the rear speakers? How do I make surrounds louder? My surrounds aren’t working? Or something of that nature, this thread might be for you. What is Dolby Digital 5.1?Surround sound is TV and movie content that surrounds you with the audio based on how it’s intended to be heard. When talking about 5.1 audio, surround sound is dedicated mixing for six channels. You’ve got the front left and right channels, along with the front center, and the rear surround channels as well. When it’s working correctly, you should hear the audio mixed for each specific channel play out of that side. What is Dolby Atmos?Dolby Atmos is an innovative spatial audio technology that allows engineers and artists to precisely place individual sounds in three-dimensional spac
As per Title, just leaving this here for reference. The last S1 update (that I grumbled about) has in fact put a smile on my face!! Since installing this I note that playback of WAV-encoded music from my local NAS is now enhanced by the S1 App showing Elapsed/Remaining Track times, the Track Progress indicator, and also allowing ‘scrubbing’ to any point in the track being played. Many Thanks to whoever decided that it was time to fix this!! (and I mean this, no sarc’ intended)Now, how long until someone tells me I should be using FLAC….. :-)
I’m a proud new owner of a Sonos Move, an iPhone owner and am having questions syncing it with my original HomePod:1. I am able to have them sync together under the HomeKit app. I have them both under the same “room” in the app. But I have to manually toggle airplay 2 every single time to get them to play together. Is there an easier way to get this done (without having to go through the annoying steps to turn both of them at the same time?)2. Any hope of getting them to play a stereo pair yet or in the future?3. is it possible to get a subwoofer and have all 3 synced together?
Has anyone tried upgrading from the Arc hdmi cable supplied by Sonos as a way to achieve Atmos signal through the Arc?
Updated to the S2 software and now when I look at my groups, my everywhere option is Missing (Sonos software fixable issue).I already see that we are getting no help from YouTube Music on entire "Artist" library NOT showing, and Sonos surprisingly not fixing the Alphabetical order issue for Artists from Music on Device? Come on Sonos... I've spent $1000s on myself and gifts, plus gotten folks to convert. Need you to fix these items, don't want to demo with disclosure of frustrating issues. I used to have none when Google Music was an option... It properly managed both conditions.
As of today, I cannot use my Play 3 speakers with my Sonos S1 app, only my Play 5 gen 1 speaker. Previously, i.e. yesterday, I could combine all in party mode. Does anyone else have this problem? Has Sonos started prevening full functionality of theS1 app inorder to force customers to upgrade?
New to the Sonos game. Currently have a beam and 2x ones in a surround set up in my living room. wondering if it is possible to play audio on just one of my ones in the set up individually? Or does it have to play in the full set up.
I understand the AMP will digitized the analog signal created from the analog line in internally and then transcode it again to analog and send it to the passive speakers. Can I connect a third party DAC to the Sonos Amp and hoping to improve the sound quality of the entire setup?Has anyone tried this? Many thanks!
I bought a Sonos Beam sound bar two days ago. I love its robust sweet sound and voice clarity. I was disappointed when I brought it home and connected to my television. I am using an HDMI arc cable for connection. I chose not to load any apps on the sound bar because all I watch/hear is on my internet driven television. As you know, the sound bar’s’s volume is driven by the television remote.. Here is the issue: When I open Netflix, Prime Video and Disney Plus apps, and watch a movie, I need to turn the volume on the tv almost all the way to the max to get almost adequate sound coming out of sound bar. When I open my You Tube, Apple TV, ABC News Live, CBS All Access and Spotify, I get a range of adequate volume depending on the app. Spotify plays perfect at a volume level of 20 out of 100; You Tube needs to be upped to about 40/100; Apple TV and the news apps need to be in the 50 out of 100 volume range. I also have a Sony Blu Ray player that is connected to the television v
Is there a way to lock the volumes when grouping speakers so that they raise and lower proportionately? I have several Sonos One’s throughout our house and I set them at different levels so that I can raise and lower them together proportionately, however, every time I open the app again for the day, they are all back to equal levels. I have them balanced on purpose and I’d like to keep it that way.
I have updated music index and nothing. How can I update my imported playlists from my ITunes music library? I can’t seem to figure it out. Help me Obi-Wan, you’re my only hope…. Thanks
Hi,is there any cheaper alternative for hdfury arcana. I am using an old 2010 model sony tv which has an ARC port but unfortunately do not support dolby digital plus. My amazon fire tv stick which supports dolby digital plus hence i can enjoy atmos content on my sonos arc. Not in a position to spend money for a new tv hence looking for a cheaper option. Even an ARC output with dolby digital plus support is fine fo my requirements. Hdfury arcana is not locally available in New Zealand and its too expensive for me. Thanks in advance.
Play & pause buttons on individual rooms would be really useful when wanting to shut down various streams, rather than having to open each one. (And global buttons at the top, for when leaving the house, for example)
Is this replacement easy for a consumer to do and how is it done? Thanks
I bought the latest IPad only to tune my Sonos and still waiting for the update so I can use trueplay. Any idea when this will be released???
I’ve had an odd problem for just over a week now in that when I turn the LG 77CX on there’s a split second of sound from the Arc and then the volume immediately goes to “0” and the Arc volume has to be turned up again after which everything is fine. This happens virtually every time the TV is turned on, playing audio/music only, the Arc works fine. It’s definitely a problem with the Arc as unplugging the TV to Arc EARC cable and then turning the TV on works fine as audio reverts back to the TV internal speakers without the need to adjust the volume. I’ve had the Arc since release and not had this problem before, any helpful advice would be much appreciated. Thank you.
I’ve had Sonos for many years and use it all the time. I have a large system. I would like to find a way to block the incessant messages to upgrade to the S2 system. I don’t want to spend the money on the new equipment, and I don’t want to run both S1 and S2 as separate systems. Is there a way to block the messages? They are annoying to say the least, and I’m not interested.
Hello, just bought sonos arc last week and have already started getting sound cutting out issue. I have a Sony XH90 TV with eARC port and I connected the HDMI to eARC port. I frequently keep getting sound cutting out. I noticed this so far while watching on Netflix.I reviewed there are related topics on this forum but none seems to be helpful for me. Please help.
Can I pairing a Sonos move with a Sonos SL? If I said "OK google. Lauter": the Sonos SL will follow my Sonos Move? Thx!
Hi, All-Waiting for my Arc/Sub/OneSLs to arrive and am wondering: Instead of a Port or 5, can I connect the turntable via bluetooth to my iPhone, then playback via Airplay to the Arc? Or...connect the turntable to my Samsung TV then HDMI(ARC) it back to the Arc?
Just subscribed to Free Trial, so 30 days remain for this to work out or then it gets cancelled. I get ads - infuriating, on all stations, and I can’t skip tracks so maybe I don’t really have HD sound either.Read some threads, re-booted all Sonos components, just upgraded to S2, in the app it says Free Subscription activated. What’s up with that?H
I have by Beam connected to an LG CX via eARC HDMI, and while the audio is controlled via the TV remote, there is no numerical value for the sound level. It makes gauging the volume very difficult for some member of our family. Why do Sonos think this is a viable operation?
