Would I notice much improvement if I upgrade my Playbar to an arc and kept my two play 1s and gen 2 subwoofer

Will an AMP Gen 1 still work with the current SONOS app for basic streaming of music?  I have several speakers connected to the newest Amp, but looking for a less expensive alternative to power the outdoor speakers separately.

Hello,I would like to create a set up with sonos products where I can have a surround system for my TV or a dolby for my PC but in the same room. The TV and PC are not in the same place in the room: I wonder if its possible with Sonos products, and how would it work.thanks in advance for suggestions 

I have seen lots of posts about sonos arc disconnecting from the samsung tv’s when you turn off the tv which mean you have to pull out the cables and reconnecting the soundbar everytime you turn on the tv. This also is the issue at my place, but i have an old samsung tv that doesnt get updated anymore. Can someone confirm if this is fixed or not? im thinking about buying the new Neo qled (qn95A) tv when it releases but i want to be sure i can connect my sonos arc without issues before buying.

Hey guys,  I have a Sonos Connect that I use along with my home theater setup. I used to have a Harmon/Kardon AVR245 receiver, but it finally died on me so I had to get a replacement. I bought a Sony STRDH790 receiver and I noticed that it causes a delay when listening with my other Sonos speakers. I tried Pure Direct mode on the receiver and while that does eliminate the delay, it does not utilize the entire 7.1 system. After researching the issue on here I saw that this is a result of the way that Sonos streams the audio. My previous receiver did not have this same delay, so I’m assuming there are some other receivers that don’t cause any delays.  Can anyone recommend a receiver that does not have this delay? I primarily use my Connect alongside my other speakers in neighboring rooms so the delay is very noticeable. Thank you!

I am considering putting a couple of Sonos rectangular architectural speakers in this cabinet banister thing and connecting them to a Sonos Amp. Does anyone see any reason why this wont work? Or should I look at a different option?  

In reviewing ‘Music Services’, I didn’t see ‘PodcastOne’ which is a VERY popular podcast site (app). Is this something I missed OR can SONOS add ‘support’ for it?

Hi guys, sorry for the medium long read and probably lack of correct terminology.. Since the coronavirus pandemic started a lot of (live) music is being streamed over various channels. When I stream this to my TV I obviously do this to enjoy the music, along with the visuals provided. My 5.1 set then only pushes the sound via the beam, with only certain frequencies or sounds popping up from the back speakers. While actually playing music from a streaming service like Spotify, the sound is sublime, but when listening to music from a video or tv this way, it’s quite disappointing. I know there are more topics addressing the same technical issue, with a logic explanation that when you watch ‘tv’ it’s not needed to have full stereo when the tv decoder or whatever is used also distributes 5.1, which makes sense. But the need from me as a user, and maybe others has changed over the past year; looking for great sound when streaming live or recorders music content from whatever source.  I woul

Have a recommendation, that I believe could be rectified with a software patch to do so. As an installer, this idea will also only help sell more Sonos product too. I would love the ability to design in some settings, where I could have 2 modern Sonos Amps AND a Beam or Arc or Playbar, all work together in 5 speaker surround. Currently, this cannot be done by the existing UI.With the current UI software, all 3 varieties of those Soudbars, are designed to act as the center, left and right, and then ONE Sonos amp, could drive 2 speakers, that act as the rears.I have had some design settings, where I would LOVE if software could accommodate, one of those Soundbars being JUST the center, & then TWO Sonos amps, driving 2 pairs of speakers. One Amp doing the left & right front, & the other amp doing the rear pair. My thought would be this would just need to occur at the software level to allow the capability, correct?No complaints on anything all around, LOVE Sonos!Thanks!AVID in

Hello,I just bought the new Sonos Amp.  I want to use for our tv surround system with 2 pairs of in wall speakers, a Sonos sound bar and the Sub.The room is quite large (20’x24’) with cathedral ceilings.  Two (2) speakers are located on both sides in the lowest part of the ceiling, a few feet in the back of the sitting area.  I plan to have 2 other speakers (Canton) each sides above the tv set.Is that a possible and interesting setup for our tv surround system ?Regards.

Currently have my TV running into a Sonos Amp, running a 2.1 setup with a third party subwoofer.Just ordered a pair of One SLs to act as rear speakers, but have since read that this would cause the subwoofer output to be disabled - although the information seems unclear, as a lot of people with this issue seem to be using the amp itself to power generic rears directly along with something like a Beam up front (the argument being that in this setup, the amp isn’t getting sent the sub signal, which is fair).However in my case, the Sonos Amp would be getting directly fed a full range HDMI signal, and passing the rear signal on to the Ones. I can’t see any reason why it would need to disable the sub output in this scenario.So to clear up:If I have my TV running into a Sonos Amp, which is wired up to a pair of bookshelf speakers, and a third party subwoofer on the sub out, will the subwoofer output be disabled if I add a pair of Sonos Ones to act as rear speakers?

What sub is recommended to pair with the Sonance Outdoor speakers connected with the Sonos Amp? Is it necessary to use the Sonos sub or is there a cheaper sub that works just as effective?Is the Sonos sub worth the extra $$$? 

Hi I have a beam, sub, + 2 play:1 speakers set up for home theater surround. I’m happy with the system but very tempted to upgrade to the new Arc soundbar. The main problem is my Vizio 75” P-series quantum doesn’t have eArc, so I guess I couldn’t get true Atmos, but I think can pass through Dolby digital. Question is whether it’s worth the upgrade… any thoughts? Has anyone upgraded and can say whether it’s worth it? Thanks!

I have a Sony X950-h and a Sonos arc. I set the eArc mode on the TV to auto. Now whatever content I play through streaming services it says in the Sonos app that it is playing in Dolby Atmos, even with shows that I know for a fact are not in Atmos. Does anyone know why that is? If I turn the eArc mode off it then displays in the app the true audio however it will only then play Atmos content with Dolby digital plus. I just want to make sure that I am truly getting Atmos with Atmos compatible programs. Thank you!

Looking for a bit of advice: we’ve recently moved, and are offloading much of our old audio equipment. We already own 3 OneSL speakers, which we love and want to keep. However, I have an extensive collection of classical and international CD’s, and am looking at a new CD player to integrate with our current Sonos speakers. Putting aside the longer term need to copy all of my CD’s to electronic files, I am looking at two options for CD playing, and am unclear if the Port or Amp is needed. One option is to purchase a Bose Wave music system, which would then provide the speakers for that room. The other option is to purchase an Onkyo 6-Disc CD carousel, which does not include speakers. I lean toward the second option, so I can just load up a day’s worth of music. I suspect the Port would do for the Bose, but the Amp would be needed for the Onkyo. Any advice (other than I need to offload the CD’s) is most appreciated! Thanks! 

That’s it. I give up. I didn’t spend over $1,200 on two speakers to have them suddenly (and randomly) decide to stop working; especially when they used to perform perfectly from my iPhone and Macs. Funny how every few weeks the mandatory obsolescence updates have happened to coincide with the frequency with which my Five series “speakers” have puttered out - to the point where now they are the two most expensive bricks in my home.Total garbage, Sonos. Total. Neither I nor anyone else I know will ever purchase a product of yours again.And for all the haters who want me to start tinkering with this or tottering with that - I already have. Plus, I shouldn’t have to waste hours of my time repeatedly changing a myriad of settings on things that USED TO WORK. So stow your derision. These threads are full of folks like me who aren’t falling for this obvious and awful sales scam.

We have a Humax that feeds our Samsung TV which then feeds via optical our Sonos Beam.  We are finding that gradually day-by-day, we have to turn the volume on the Humax higher and higher. Eventually we can go no higher and so we manually adjust the sound level using the control on the Beam to raise the volume. Then we can then reduce the sound level from the Humax.  So it seems as if the Beam gradually decides by itself t become less and less ‘sensitive’.

Looking for loud, clear outdoor speakers to connect to the Sonos Amp. What do you recommend and why?

I have the beam & x2 one SL speakers setup as surround sound linked to my tv. sound generally for tv is good but when playing music via Spotify it doesn’t have the sound quality/ base/ loudness I expected ? Is my setup wrong? Do I need more speakers/ amp?any ideas?it’s not a particular large room but is open plan kitchen living. 

Hello,Having reviewed various other queries on the community, I cannot see a direct reference to this question.  I am looking to understand if it is viable to use the Sonos Port, connected to some typical PC 2.1 speakers.I assume the line out from desktop can go into the Port Audio-In, then back out through the Audio-Out into the active 2.1 system. Critically, this also links the PC audio to the Sonos system around my houseMy concern is that this may introduce some sort of audio delay, especially if watching video / on VC on the computer.I should add, this is a Windows set up so cannot use AirPlay unfortunately, or at least I don’t think I can, if I could I would revert to two One’s, provided there is no audio delay as above. Any initial thoughts?Thanks.

Hi,I opened this topic to know how to connect a turntable to a sonos home teather consisting of sonos beam and two sonos one SL ( later I will also buy the sonos sub ).It seems to me that I can connect a turntable to both an Sonos Port and a Sonos Amp but it is not clear to me which one to buy.I have this questions.If I decide to buy a third-party receiver ( such as Onkyo, Denon or Yamaha ) and connect the turntable to the receiver, then how do I connect the amplifier to my Sonos products?If I bought a Pro-Ject Carbon turntable instead, how do I connect the turntable to my Sonos products?Kind regards

How do broadcasters get their radio stations added to Sonos Radio?  Initially Sonos Radio seemed to just have all stations which were registered in TuneIn but now they seem to have removed some of the stations (including mine!)CheersAlex 

I'm building a new construction house and I'm thinking about adding a pair of in-ceiling speakers to the covered deck, which would be wired to a Sonos amp in the IT closet.I was quoted about $1800 for the full setup including parts and installation. The quote says they would provide the Klipsch CS-16C II speakers... But I can't find much about those on Google, so I'm a bit worried that they're not the best quality.What do you guys recommend for in-ceiling outdoor rated speakers for use with the Amp? I could try to get a quote for some different ones instead.And does that quote seem ridiculously high? Seems like about half parts and half labor (based on the price of the Amp and $100 speakers plus adding room for wiring, brackets, etc.). The IT closet is in the basement with my network gear, so they'd need to run wires upstairs then out to the deck on the opposite side of the house and provide brackets, do the wiring, etc.The alternative would be to just buy a couple Move speakers... but

New to sound setups and wanted to know whats better for music, to get a beam and two HomePods which will be used specifically for music or a beam + 2 ones which will serve for both music and tv in terms of overall sound quality.
