Hello everyone,I’m new to the Sonos community and love the sound from the sound bar.  The only thing is that the volume has to be at least 50 in order to hear it well.  To watch a movie and fill the room it has to be at 65/70.  This seems weird.  Is anyone else having this issue?  I have unplugged the unit.  Tried a different HDMI cord. And tried different video sources.  The thing I find interesting is that when I play only  music through the Sonos Arc (tv not on), the volume dial is only at a quarter and fills the room.  Would like to resolve this and not have to return the sound bar to Best Buy.  Please help!

Hi, i have upgraded one of my connect amps for a new amp, and i plan to use it for tv sound also,My problem is my tv is in a different room than my sonos amp and virgin box with all wiring concealed in walls, currently my virgin box uses the HDMI to TV for standard TV Audio, how can i get sound through my wired ceiling speakers that currently work via sonos app from new Amp,My TV has an ARC HDMI socketFYI, i have spare wires not used to TV from room where the virgin box and Amp are located, they areCAT5Optic cable2 x red/white line in  plugssingle line with 3.5mm jack plug on

After a software upgrade with Sony tv, soundbar no longer recognizes either Xfinity or Sony remotes.  The only way to get the volume adjusted is the stand directly in front of the soundbar with remote, then the beam works.  Have had installers here and they were clueless and said only 1 year warranty on soundbar, so no luck there.  (and BTW - that one year warranty is disappointing)

I upgraded to S2 and now my volume increases dramatically when I switch from TV to streaming or a DVD. I’ve called Sonos tech support and got no resolution and they said I could not return to the S1 version which worked fine.

Hi there.I am British and live in Spain.  Today I got an email in Spanish (a language I don’t speak particularly well) about Sonos Radio stations.  But because I’m in Spain and Sonos Stations are only offered in a handful of countries, I can’t access them. Meanwhile in the Sonos Radio section of the app, I see an ad banner for Sonos Radio HD which I can’t sign up for it’s not available outside the UK or US.  I’ve no particular objection to Sonos advertising new services to me, but it’s frustrating when they’re adverts in the wrong language (My profile is set to “Preferred Language: English”) and/or for services you won’t let me sign up for! Rod. 

After soon 10 years as a dedicated Sonos fan. I’m really impressed of how useless and bad the new app. Nothing really works now. It did previously. But not any more. All 3 speakers can only play as a group a few times a week. Music comes and goes on all speakers. The app is so extremely slow and hard to use. I’m considering of selling or throwing this junk away. It really must be a system with better performance and ease of use than this.  

I recently bought a house and trying to get it figured out. The previous homeowners had a Sonos Amp connecting 3 sets of speakers in the house and worked with no issue. I bought the same amp but I can only get one pair to work regardless of wiring combo. Coming out of the ceiling, I have a set of 3 red wires, a set of 3 black wires, a set of 3 green, and finally a set of 3 white wires. When I go in the attic, all three sets of speakers are using black and red wiring so I am lost on how to troubleshoot the cabling and what it should look like. 

I own 2play:1 and a sound bar. I would like to get a sub woofer. What is compatible and where can I get it?

when I have to turn up and down, it responds very slowly? 

I have an amazon fire toshiba tv. tv is wirelessly streaming.comcast is service provider. running hdmi from tv to beam, wireless sub and two play 1’samazon prime video and music play in surroundamazon music played through Sonos app plays in surround  netflix 5.1 shows only play through the beam and the sub  it’s driving me crazy  Any idea what I can try?

So I just bought a Sonos Playbase (front) and two Sonos One SL (rear). My TV is a Philips 70PUS7555. It supports SPDIF (Optical) to the Playbase, and have setup everything in surround. My problem is, that in my TVs audio settings I can pick “Stereo”, “Multichannel” or “Multichannel Bypass”. It seems like in the description, that it manages/alters the HDMI ARC audio, in which I have none of. When watching TV (streamed channels), or movies (Netflix, etc.) the Audio isn’t great. It seems like the rear speakers are at 5% volume, and only play some random background noise. I dont get any “wow” feeling from the surround, and it seems like theres something wrong. Am i missing something? I followed every step of the Sonos setup guide; and deactivated the built in TV speakers. Help please - I’m starting to regret my $ 1500 setup…..  

does anyone know how (if possoble) you can get the ps5 to output dolby atmos to the arc via the LG GX when playing a 4k bluray?

I am in the process of putting together a home theater/media room. Its a relatively small room, ~17' x 13', and I am putting together all the components.After spending time over a few visits at local stores and being blown away by the sound I pulled the trigger on a Sonos system. I was attracted to the other features of the system besides just movie/TV sound.I purchased a Playbar, Sub, and 2 Play 1 speakers. After doing some more research I started to have some concerns that I may have bit off more than necessary given my wants and needs.My main goal is great surround sound from movies and TV, the other streaming features are nice to have, but I am concerned I may have significantly over-payed for what will be primarily a surround sound system for my TV. Are the other features worth it?I would love to hear any feedback or advice from more experienced Sonos users.Also, I was told I did not need a bridge, however, i seem to be getting conflicting information on that. Looking to get some outdoor speakers on my newly built covered patio and I'm looking at options. I currently do not have any receiver/system of any kind (only using a small Bose blutooth speaker for inside the home). If I'm understanding correctly, Sonos recently released outdoor speakers that are "passive" and require no wires or electrical connections of any kind? And in order to operate those, I will first need to purchase a Sonos Amp? Sounds like a pretty good option to get some good sound both inside and outside my house if I bought the amp, several indoor speakers, and a pair of outdoor speakers? Am I understanding this setup correctly? The only thing I need is Wifi to get this going?

Hi, my speaker fell forward (long story) and landed on a pointy thing and poked a whole through the speaker cover. The important parts a fine and the sound is still okay, although I am pretty sure it has impacted sound quality. I was wondering if there was any way to replace the cover.

Hi all, I'm using the Sonos amp with 2.1 third party speakers. I run FireTV into the TV's HDMI. Most of the apps on FireTV run Dolby Digital Plus. I selected audio pass through on the TV's settings. TV is connected to HDMI arc to Sonos amp. Most of my videos apps use Dolby Plus so I assume and hope that somewhere along this transfer the Dolby Plus will convert to Dolby Digital (Sonos compatibility)? How can I verify this? I assume I wouldn't get audio if it wasn't compatible but would be nice to check this because I find the phantom centre doesn't work all that great and maybe it's because I'm not getting the right audio format.

Hi I need clarification on the setup I’m planning build. The TV is Samsung TU7000 65” with eARC connection “but this TV is not Dolby Atmos TV. Question: will SonosArc+Subgen3+oneSL produce Dolby Atmos given that movie being playback is Dolby Atmos format on TU700?or Dolby Atmos requires Dolby Atmos TV capable + eARC connection?Hope someone can get back to me with clean answer. 

Hi,Could somebody please tell me exactly what the difference is between DD5.1 and PCM Stereo 2.0 when played on a Beam? I know DD5.1 is a 5.1 soundtrack and the Beam isn’t a 5.1 speaker, so what happens?Because of the lip sync issues caused by my TV when watching some content, I have to have my Blu-Ray player set to PCM instead of Bitstream. This means the Beam receives PCM 2.0 Stereo instead of DD5.1. If I play the same scene, on the same volume but change the two audio formats the scene is much louder when played on DD5.1, but is volume the only difference between the two in this scenario?Thanks.

Hi all,I’ve seen all of the issues with YouTube Music floating around. I have been looking at Sonos for ages and was really excited to unbox a Move as the first addition to a collection. Now I am actually using the solution,I have no option but to use the Sonos App (Android) which is extremely poor compared the YTM interface and also means I can’t like songs when I’m listening to my supermix which is how I discover all my new music. I also tend to use YTM on my PC and I can’t find a reasonable way to cast from YTM from the web version. Is there something I am missing or should I just return the speaker and look at an alternative solution which actually supports ‘cast’ ? Any input is appreciated.Thanks,Adam 

Reading through the threads this one comes up a bit, but we really need a feature to switch (even a manual in app switch) to turn the surrounds into full mode when watching music videos instead of leaving them in ambient.

Hey guys, I wanted to ask a few questions about the “dedicated side front channels” trick using Groups in a 5.0 or 5.1 setup. I know the process of how to do it, but I wanted to confirm some details before deciding on a purchase.I currently have a Beam + 2 rear Ones in Home Theatre mode. However, my room is very wide and the audio sources almost create a triangle shape instead of a rectangle.With that being said: Considering that the Beam will still drive the 3 frontal channels, is the widening effect of the new side channels noticeable? Or does the Beam narrows it again and compensates it? How is TruePlay impacted by this? I’d guess I’d run it without the “Front Group”, rendering it untrue. About the sync, is the Front Group ahead of the Home Theatre Group so all I have to do is delay the former? Is ARC capable of delaying the video if needed? Should I expect more crashes because of this? Basically, is it worth it?Do note that I’m aware that the Beam is designed to bounce the side cha

I'm having an issue with my new Sony A8H and sonos arc. The tv keeps switching the audio output to the TV speakers rather than through the soundbar. The Sonos arc will play sound for 1-5 seconds than revert to the tv speakers. There are times where it works as it should, but I usually have to turn the tv off/on multiple times to get that to happen. The arc works fine when streaming music, and it worked immediately when I plugged it into my 6 year old samsung smart tv upstairs. I have the sonos arc connected to the arc/earc port on the TV. I have tried 2 different HDMI cables (sony suggested the one that came with the arc was the issue, when I switched it out for a spare I had lying around the problem resolved itself for a while, but then returned). The earc setting on the tv is set to auto. Pass through also set to auto. Sony support has had me do power reset, factory reset, changed the RS232c control from HDMI port to serial port. These have in turn fixed the issue, but after the tv i

I have [Playbar] , [AMP and SUB].When listening to music, I only use AMP and SUB. When watching TV, I use everything. But! When I chose everything to play together in the Sonos app, it work seamless, but if I ect pause my TV for a few minutes, my playbar and AMP separate itself, and I need to choose it to play together in the Sonos app again.I want my configuration to be like I want, until I change it myself..
