New to sound setups and wanted to know whats better for music, to get a beam and two HomePods which will be used specifically for music or a beam + 2 ones which will serve for both music and tv in terms of overall sound quality.

The Beam and HomePods can only play together through AirPlay 2. Get the Beam and two Ones or One SLs so you can listen to music AND enjoy a 5.0 home theater setup when watching TV and movies. If you want even better sound, add the Sonos Sub to complete the 5.1 setup. Also, Apple recently announced the original HomePods have been discontinued.

I think it woild be better to stick to Sonos since Apple’s speaker ecosystem seems short lived or subject to frequent model change. And as stated above you would have far better integration options with an all Sonos setup.

but if you prefer the HomePod route (and can get hold of some one sale) maybe their pair Homepots would be ok on their own for TV sound? They bow support pairing and some level of Atmos so the Beam would probably be redundant.

personally I’d go Beam + 2 Ones.
