Will an AMP Gen 1 still work with the current SONOS app for basic streaming of music? I have several speakers connected to the newest Amp, but looking for a less expensive alternative to power the outdoor speakers separately.

The Connect:Amp (Gen 2) is compatible with the S1 and S2 app but the Connect:Amp (Gen 1) is only compatible with the S1 app.

All Sonos devices continue to be supported, with the exception of the Sonos Dock, and the CR100. Due to RAM and CPU limitations, some require S1 to operate, others can operate on either S1 or S2, and some, the newer devices, run only on S2.
The Connect:Amp (Gen 2) is compatible with the S1 and S2 app but the Connect:Amp (Gen 1) is only compatible with the S1 app.
