Hello--I have a home with a 10 year old wired ceiling speaker system with about 7 different zones. All those zones are connected in the basement to one integrator--all the speaker wires go into that device. A main screen exists on a 1st floor wall where you can select which source you want to play in any room. For example, I can select “kitchen” then “ipod” (OMG) or “back deck” and “FM radio”. There is an AUX based docking station mounted in the wall there for a 1st Gen Ipod. (I imagine this was very hot in 2010) Because this system isn’t current, we end up either using FM Radio on it; or just using one of our four Alexa devices to play the music from a source we like (Pandora, Amazon Music, etc).Note: also wired into that integration system is a DVD player, a BlueRay player, and what looks like a Serius/XM receiver--all sources for different zones that have either TVs or just ceiling speakers. How do I use this existing system of wired speaker zones, to upgrade to something that
I just fitted the Sonos sub on its side, under my bed. I cant begin to explain to you how much more bass you actually feel and deeper tones. I guess the bed frame acts like an enclosure. This has absolutely transformed my experience. If you like the Sub now, you need to do this immediately.
Hi All,I have a new Sonos Arc Entertainment set, but couldn’t get Dolby Atmos to pass thru to it. For example, from Apple TV, proven Dolby Atmos material to Sony XBR-65X850C to HDMI4 (ARC) to Sonos Arc. Apple TV does not hand shake with Dolby Atmos on Sony. Digital Dolby 5.1 is OK.questions:Does the Sonos ARC do PCM multi-channels or only compressed Dolby? Does the Sony XBR65x850C pass through Dolby Atmos to Sonos ARC via the HDMI4-ARC?please help if you have experiences in the above.many thanksey
I have two SiriusXM accounts, one for each car. This allows me to use two streams as long as each stream is started from different accounts. This will work OK from the Select Music Source and Alexa is set to use one specific account. The problem is when using Favorites because there’s no way to distinguish accounts. It would be nice if there was a way to easily see what account is tied to a favorite before using it.
A bit of preamble… I own a trio of Sonos One speakers and am considering buying a Sonos Roam. After a recent move, I found myself with spotty Internet access. I have a travel router that I use to make my own private WiFi network for my apartment, but it is not connected to the Internet (unless I turn my phone into a mobile hotspot). Currently, if I want to use my Sonos system in this (admittedly janky) set-up, I need to use my phone as a hotspot - and even then there’s some lag time.Enter the Sonos Roam. Obviously, I can play music from my phone over the Roam via a bluetooth location. What I want to know is, can I use the Roam’s Sound Swap feature to play music from my phone onto my entire Sonos system (assuming that my WiFi network is not connected to the Internet)? Feel free to ask clarifying questions if I botched the description of my jury-rigged WiFi...
Hi. I’m new here :) I was an audio addict years ago and had a big setup. This was when CDs and big DACs ruled the landscape. fast forward 15 years, 3 different houses and now two children and my listening has changed dramatically. The CDs are gone, the big 2way setup is gone, and it’s all spotify and casting to different speakers. Yep I went for convenience over clarity! Early this year I bought a play5 gen 2 for my living room. It sounded good but wasn’t that exiting. Just nice and clear. I came across another at a good price a few months ago so I grabbed it and set up a stereo pair. This sounded a LOT better. Since then I have changed to tidal, but learned that Sonos doesn’t like their hi res audio. (I’m steaming off my iPhone 12) So a week ago I set up a Qobuz account and started streaming their Hires gear. This sounded so much better, it reminded me a lot of my “old glory days” just with a fifth of the physical footprint! Rhys has me wondering what people use to feed their 5s. I
So for the last few years, I’ve been living in the dark ages somewhat with nothing more than an HD TV in the living room. The recent purchase of a PS5 has been the catalyst for me to start sliding down a slippery slope to building out a decent surround sound setup in our front room. The first port of call is going to be a new 4K TV (likely to be an LG OLED48CX5LC).However, having asked a question on Amazon around how high the TV stands (so I could figure out whether the Sonos Beam I have would cover the picture), I was basically told that it wouldn’t fit- but not to worry about it, because the direct sound from the TV is better than the Beam anyway so I don’t need a sound bar.So I guess I have a few questions that come off the back of that:Is that a fair point? Should I not worry about the Beam? If I’m not going to use the Beam, can I still connect my SLs for surround sound? If so, how do I do that? Again if the sound from the TV is so good, should I not be thinking about upgrading the
I'm hoping someone can shed some light on this for me. I recently purchased the HD fury arcana but when I connect it to the firestick and projector I only get sound for 5 seconds while the sonos app is trying to connect and then it stops and I no longer receive sound. I was getting sound prior to connecting the hdfury when I used an hdmi switch. Can anyone confirm what settings I should have on the hdfury to ensure I receive sound. I'm using 4k cables, about 40 ft long to the projector and to the arc. I've enabled cec settings on the firestick and projector.
I currently have a single One and contemplating purchase of a Beam plus 2 x symfonisk speakers for TV surround. My question is whether it is possible to use the Beam / symfonisk combo for TV and also separately use the One and one of the symfonisks as a stereo pair for music?what would people recommend so that I can get ‘the best of both worlds’ with this combo? Maybe Beam plus One for music would be a better bet?thanks
Can sonos amp connect 4 “normal” speakers (2 Mini pods and 2 micro pods) and a subwoofer?
I have two Sonos Play 5 paired for stereo plus the Sonos Sub. Is there anyway for me to connect these to play as a stereo pair plus sub to my TV.
I used Sonos speakers a while ago, 5 years +. My friend had the system and I was really impressed. I recently decided I needed some speakers at home and remembered Sonos being the best quality. So I purchased the double pack of the ONE SL. I have to say i’m shocked about how much the usability has declined. Have had constant issues with connectivity, no one is available over the phone, can only connect one of the speakers, does not work on wifi, one of the speakers will not connect at all even over ethernet connection. Complete embarrassment of a system. Will be returning for money back, ill go and give Bose a call. Don’t waste your time with Sonos. I have exceptional wifi too.
We recently purchased our 2nd Move. We love them. What are the chances that the charging bases will come with USB-C style chord?the move is positioned on our kitchen desk and the power outlet is inside a cabinet the accesshole is too small for the plug to pass through?
I wonder if anyone can help with a little matrix problem I have. My Living Room device sends out to the Dining Room and Kitchen… both are the same distance away… the kitchen and dining room are also very close to each otherMy question is why is the living room sending out to the Dining Room and Kitchen, but neither the kitchen or dining room mesh with each other? They send back to the living room…. but not with each other and they are physically very close. Should it not create a complete mesh will all sending and receiving to each other? The dining room to the kitchen says it has an inbound and outbound value, but says blocked… Thanks for any insight.
Hey, does Sonos pro-ject t1 work wirelessly without any other equipment with Sonos one speakers dual set?
Really annoyed the queue function is broken. For example... Add a song or two to the playlist. Say you have sonf ABC and song DCE in the playlist. You then search and add song ZZZ to the playlist and click add to queue or add next. It will add it and you will see it between ABC and DCE but it will play DCE not ZZZ. Will skip over ZZZ Everytime. We have tested this twenty times and it f's up Everytime. Please fix. Used to work exactly as expected.
I have 5 products offering the upgrade discount. I definitely want to upgrade the play 5 but does anyone know if I select only the play 5 just now, will the upgrade option still be available for the others afterwards?Trying to figure out if the upgrade option is a one time thing, and therefore worth choosing to upgrade them all just now (to secure the discount but actually replace them further down the line). Or, if I chose just play 5 for now, then would the remaining 4 products still show the upgrade offer afterwards?
Is it possible or via Bluetooth, the speakers cannot be paired?
I am trialing a new ARC by replacing my playbar that was paired with a Sub, with the ARC. That part went ok, now have the ARC and the sub paired, all though Im not convinced the ARC is that great yet (dont have TV with Dolby Atmos )I also have a room with two One SL’s paired. I want to move the playbar to that room and pair it to the One SL’s. The playbar when turned on, comes up as another Room “Family 2”, the ARC and sub are “Family”.I dont seem to be able to unpair or move the playbar anywhere? How do I pair it with the two one SL’s ??Oh the SL’s are on wireless, and the playbar is on wired eth. thanks
Hello forum, first time post, but searching the forum I haven’t found a good answer yet. We are moving in to a new home with the family room having an open back wall into the kitchen. In our previous home, we had a great rectangular family room that I used an Arc, two Play:1s and sub. In the new family room, lacking a back wall, I’m worried the arc won’t work well. I can certainly reflect surrounds off the walls, but would in ceiling rears (connected via AMP) provide a decent surround effect even with the open back? I suspect not, but wondered if anyone had similar set-ups/experience. thank you!
Hey all! Got a new TV and wanted Airplay & volume control to work so I bought a Beam to replace the Playbar from my old TV setup. New TV working great with a Beam + Sub + 2 old Play 1’s for surround. ✅ All good.Question: If I “group” the old Playbar to the room (as configured above), will the Playbar improve or detract from the 5.1 surround sound?Yeah, I know I could/should just try it but I’m away from home and wanted to ask the sound geeks first. Thoughts?
Hi, Does anyone know if I can exchange/trade-in my Sonos One for Sonos Five? If yes, how much lesser would the Sonos Five cost me?The Sonos One (Gen 2) I have is only 3 months old and I am looking to upgrade.
Hi,I have an Apple TV 4K connected to my TV which is the connected to my Sonos Beam. I then have two Play:1 speakers connected as surrounds. I want to use this setup to listen to Apple Music lossless. My Apple TV is setup to lossless and Dolby Atmos when available. When I play an album from Apple in Atmos it plays across all speakers as full surround. When I select an album that isn’t in Atmos, only the Beam works. Is there any way around this? What I’d like is for the group to behave how it does when I stream Apple Music using the S2 app, which is the surrounds operating as one stereo source and the beam as the other, but in lossless quality.
When connected to Sonos One using Airplay (via system sound setting), there is no sound at all. this works: Intel Macbook pro does not work: m1 Mac mini
How do I turn down the volume of these sounds? They are incredibly loud! Thanks!
