Hi there, this is my first post here, as until now i was very happy with my Sonos 5 / Fives. Now the Situation is changing, therefore i need some advice. I will be moving to a new place soon, which is oddly shaped and smaller than the current one. Current Setup: 2 Sonos Five Current State: Happy with the output, but the Fives do need to be at least at 40% to deliver performance. I currently do have the space and freedom to accommodate the fives and crank up the volume.Upcoming: I will move to a smaller place and the Kids will be residing right behind the wall where the TV and the speakers are located. Question: Interested in downgrading my fives to one sl + sub (no need for smart). Reason: Less space, can not listen that loud anymore.Space: Approx. 370 sq.ft. The listening will happen at the couch and at the table. Now i might add another pair of one SL in the kitchen area down the road. But the question is if the the ones with the sub are better suited in such a scenario. How do the
How effective would the upfiring drivers be here? Thanks for any input. 12 or 13 feet at apex
I would like to stream music into my receivers (I have 2) - will a splitter on 1 Port work for 2 Receivers?
With the recent announcement of Amazon HD music support I was wondering if your playback source effects if music is HD or not. I stream my music via wi-fi from my Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra and am not sure if playback is in true HD or do I need an external converter. Thanks for your help.
Sonos one speakers set up as surrounds, but one stops playing sound after a few seconds but still shows connected.
Playbar with two play 1 speakers. After reconnecting them one of the play1 has no sound but can control the volume
Hi!!I’ve been a fan of B&W and Sonos. For various reasons, and from the financial perspective. I want to improve the sound of my existing setup, which is the Sonos Amp + Sonos/Sonance In-Ceiling speakers. So I’m thinking if I can add a pair of bookshelf speakers B&W 606 S2 to my existing setup. Wondering if anyone have tried this?
Good morning!I want to buy a portable Sono with bluetooth. I like Move but I have a Beam and I think it is not compatiblefor surround sound. What do you recommend me to have both. Thank you
Current setupLiving room: ARC+sub+ 2 Ones as rears. Basement: Play:5 I just got gifted a Pro-ject Debut. I do 90% of my music listening/ TV watching in the living room. Option 1: buy a port and use the turntable in the living room. option 2: buy a new Play:5 and use as rear surrounds in the living room option 3: inferior option. Use the turntable downstairs with the play 5.
Hi, I have Sony Android TV connected with Sonos Arc by eARC HDMI and TV audio output setup is:Speakers: Audio system A/V sync: on eARC mode: auto Digital audio out: Auto 1 Dolby Digital Plus output: Dolby Digital Plus Pass through mode: AutoKODI audio setup is allow passthrough. But Dolby Atmos movies are played in Dolby Digital Plus 2.0. Do you have some idea? For example Apple TV application plays in Dolby Atmos.
I have bought new arc and my TV is 5 year old 75 inch 2K Samsung does not have arc port but has HDMI can use this HDMI using HDFury,ARCANA eARC adapter does this work Also is the any known issues on ARCANA eARC adapter when using with Sonos Arc does it does the same job as new TVs with e ARC outputs
Does anyone know if I can setup a Beam 2 and configure in-ceiling speakers for the down firing Atmos elements (instead of relying on the Beam 2 virtual up-firing ) ?(i’m awaiting installation so apologies if this question has an obvious answer, and i’m using completely incorrect terminology)Thanks
Hi! Playbar connected to Samsung tv. No real issues for several years since new. Suddenly the volume increases to max automatically. Whenever I press almost any button on Samsung remote this happens. I’ve done complete Wi-Fi reset. Tv reset. Remote reset. Playbar reboot and reset. No fix yet. Can anyone help? Thank you!!
I have a NAS drive with all my music on my home network. I’d like to setup a second library for my wife such that each of us can search our OWN libraries to play music from vs adding a second folder and mapping the share in Sonos as that just presents a unified library showing ALL music.Very simple use case:Sonos should let a user select from a set of local music libraries. I should be able to select My Library and only see content from there. The same model where I can add multiple streaming service accounts and choose one or another.
I placed my order a couple days ago and even placed another one to see if it changed anything but I have 0 information about my order. By this I mean I didn't receive any confirmation email or anything. I don’t know what to do :(
Hi,I have a Sonos Amp currently running 2 outdoor Sonance speakers. I understand the Amp can run 2 pairs of Sonance speakers wired in parallel. My Amp is right in the centre of the house and it is a very tortuous route to outside, also our house is 300+ years old and the walls are enormously thick. I managed to get the cable for the current Sonance speakers through the house when we had floors up and through the wall using a redundant Virgin media hole which had been drilled previously by an engineer. To add a second set of Sonance outdoor speakers, I don’t really want to have to take up floors and try to drill through the wall (it’s close to 1m thick in places). Could I simply cut the current cable outside the house and add one of these:https://www.richersounds.com/qed-3-way-speaker-switch.htmlThen use the existing cables from it off to the current speakers and a new cable from it to the new speakers? Appreciate it will play the same music etc, but that’s fine I won’t ever want to have
Hi guys, need some advice here. My tv console design is that the tv is in a cupboard with wooden cupboard doors. So the beam will go into the cupboard. I also place a pair of Sonos one outside the tv console cabinet (on top of cupboard and at the side) so that i can listen to music alone with just the pair of sonos one (with the Beam power off and inside the cabinet. Now my question is as i am setting up the audio for best experience,I shouldn’t use trueplay tuning right? As my beam is always off and cupboard door close whenever i am not watching tv and only listening to audio only? Beam is usually power off with the tv (no tv no beam so cupboard door closed), will the sonos one pair be intelligent enough to know beam is off and adjust the audio accordingly to maximise the speakers potential? CheersJim
Evening all , me again 🤦🏻♂️ !! After hours of issues today that started with one surround speaker not connected and couldn't connect it back online I have finally sussed the issue ! Its took hours to get the speaker to connect again ! My Amazon box is connected via ethernet and has been like that for years .I got the Sonos and set it all up only watched sky tvToday I tried the Amazon box , buffering all the time plus couldn't connect speaker .I've disconnected the ethernet cable ( now on WiFi ) and now no buffering ! Speaker has connected straight away too !!! So now I have full surround I plugged ethernet back in the fire box , buffering loads !! Turned off Sonos system, fire box is fine on ethernet !! turn Sonos on and buffering !! now I have fire TV box on WiFi , surrounds connected easily and working , hopefully I won't come down in the morning to one speaker disconnected ! thanks
Just wanted to share the good news that I am successfully deploying the SMBv2 protocol on my Synology NAS (DSM 7.0.1-42218) with the Sonos App (version 13.4). Moreover, the NTLMv1 authentication is no longer needed.
Merci.
There are a lot of people with questions regarding Sono Port sound quality, and the topics always seem to be closed. I just acquired a Sonos Port because I was excited about adding that capability to my HiFi setup. I was excited about the functionality, and the Port accomplishes the connected and streaming tasks just fine, love the automatic input selection for the Aux input. But the sound: It’s flat, lacks detail, it even sounds like there is an arbitrary roll-off on high and low frequencies. The imaging is horrible. Music sound “canned” and “lifeless”. For those just using background music while they have a dinner party, you wouldn’t notice. But if you intend to just sit back with a glass of wine and listen to music on purpose, the sound is sorely lacking.I’m using “good” quality components: vintage Marantz Receiver (restored) and relatively new BW Speakers. I’m not trying compare Spotify to listening to vinyl (which sounds great on my system), but I expected the Port to sound as go
We have a Sonos beam in the lounge, more than pleased with it, but we also have a spare Sonos One and Sonos SL, i see you can connect tem to the beam, but the placment seems to say they need to be behind yor listening/viewing position. Is this definate, as we cant get them into that position, the only way its possible is on brackets high on the rear wall, unfortunatley that is ruled out by the Mrs. it seems a shame to keep the speakers in the cupboard, what would happen with them in front of the viewing point, not near the beam about 4ft away on each side. If this is not possible i will get rid of them. Last question is re a Sonos Sub, is it worth getting a Sub just to use with the Beam. I missed out on getting one from the Sonos Refurbished, they only have white in,im waiting for them to get the black refurbs in. Any advice appreciated
This is still a ongoing issue for me no matter how many times I reboot, reinstall, etcit now plays silence for the first 10 seconds of songs sometimes along with the usual faults - song not encoded correctly skipping past added next song.I used to love my Sonos set up but over the last 6 months it’s been absolute rubbish. Im still not sure if it’s a Sonos, spotify or router fault. will this ever be solved? I was at one point thinking of buying a roam but with how this lot performs I don’t think I’ll bother. so frustrating 🤦🏼
Hi,I am looking for a suitable soundbar that can be connected to an amphifier / CD player / turntable. I am old-school, own more than 3000 CDs and 1000 Vinyl and even though I don’t use any streaming services, an additional bluetooth option would be perfect to play mp3 from my phone / iPod. This combined with Atmos would be fantastic.Any recommendations are very much appreciated. Thanks!
