I have the Sonos Beam currently connected to my TV via eARC for PS5, Netflix, movies etc. I am switching out my TV next month for the LG C1, and as this is a top gaming TV, I will also use it for PC gaming at 4K upto 120hz.For my PC to detect my Sonos as 5.1, I need a new sound card that will encode and decode 5.1 Dolby Digital. Then I will plug in the beam via optical to my PC, using the HDMI to Optical adapter. However this means unplugging the HDMI from Beam -> TV.If I buy a HDMI Switch, then have one HDMI cable to the TV, plug the HDMI to Optical adapter in the other slot, with an Optical cable to my PC, will this allow me have the Dolby Digital 5.1 sound for my PC gaming while also controlling the volume with my TV remote?
I am an Apple user and I would love to be able to use Airplay and an external disc drive connected to my iMac to play music DVDs through my Sonos One. That would be an extremely powerful and useful addition to Sonos functionality. (Note that uploading the songs from one’s CD collection in order to play them on the Sonos is NOT a good workaround…..) Alternatively, Sonos should partner with a few peripheral manufacturers to develop a proprietary "service" -- similar to Spotify Connect -- which would enable at least their devices (eg, disc players) to use the Sonos One as an output when connected to an Apple computer.
Any plans to add true 7.1 setup capabilities to the beam or arc?I would love to be able to add 2 more speakers as Front Left and Front Right Sourrounds turning the beam into a center speaker 🔊 Would be great if we see this coming in 2022
Happy Sonos user here. Trying to migrate away from a world of “my music takes up my entire hard drive” to one where I can still listen to my decades of MP3s but via streaming. I’m considering a few options including Apple Music and YouTube Music which both support “upload your own songs and then stream them”. I can’t tell from the “Apple Music and Sonos” page — does Sonos with Apple Music support playing these songs specifically (the ones you upload) or just the ones that come in their streaming service? (And the same question for YouTube music too, I guess.)
Dear Sonos,I know this question has been asked before. But is there any estimation when this will come ? Or just the confirmation it will come would be nice.I mean native streaming like with Qobuz (AirPlay isn’t the same quality I notice)thanks!!
I have a Sonos Roam. I have it on Sonos' wireless charger, so it is always fully charged. I have noticed that when it reaches 100%, the charging symbol does not appear in the app. Eventually, the charging symbol will appear in the app, and the orange light will illuminate. Is this correct? I thought trickle charging ment that it was always charging, and adjusted things itself. It seems to me that it does not charge after it has reached 100%, and then start charging again after some use. I guess my question really is how does the trickle charging on Sonos Roam work?
I have several streaming services (Spotify, Tidal, Qobuz) connected to my Spotify S2 app on iOS. None of them seem to allow sorting or filtering playlists within the Sonos app, based on playlist name. This seems like a really basic feature, and it’s essential because I have thousands of playlists. Does this feature truly not exist, or am I missing something?
When streaming Qobuz FLAC with Roon to Sonos One and grouping in S1 that Sonos One with a stereo pair of Play 5 Gen 1 what quality do you get from Play 5 Gen 1? Roon Signalpath shows 48/24 for signal to Sonos One. But what quality do the grouped Play 5 Gen 1 play? For local files Play 5 Gen 1 are capable of 48/24 FLAC. But in this streaming scenario? Thank you
Hi Comunity ,I am new in this amasing Sonos world .I would like to know if someone could recommend a radio station who plays :1.- Black Music with very little publicity 2 .- actual English pop music without cuts for publicity thanks !
Just got my Sonos Arc. I have a 2020 Samsung Q8DT Tv from Costco. I’m planning on setting up my arc in next few days.I have read on here that a lot of people have had connectivity and sound issues with the Samsung TV…weather the sound cuts out or they are not getting the Atmos sound. I called tech support for Sonos and they say issues have been fixed.Does anyone have any info or update on this situation as I’m hoping not to have any problems when I set up the speakers? I have an eArc HDMI port
Hi,I am about to wire a tv room using a projector. An Arc or similar won’t work in the room due to placement issues, however, I am considering using 4-6 in-ceiling Sonos architectural speakers, a Sonos or other sub and a Sonos Amp for optimal home theater and music sound. Will this work? The Sonos Amp and the Apple TV will reside in a tech closet in the basement. I’d run raceway from the projector to the rack for future HDMI swap out. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thx.
I want to add a 2nd Sub to my Arc (Gen 3), 2 SL (Gen3) and Sub Gen (3) system. I know I need a minimum Gen 3 Sub to add a 2nd sub (which I have) but could I buy a 2nd hand Gen 1 Sub and add that in ?
Dear Sonos could you please explain your route about high resolution music support? I understand you support now on S2 and Port up to 24bit and 48khz.What worth is it as the majority of provided ‘high res’ music formats are 24bit 96 khz?It is none. You either can play the regular high res or not.Your upgrade is just a lossless CD Quality (16bit 44khz) with a bit of headroom (24bit 48khz). A great offer would be: The port and amp plays the original file, for example 24bit 96khz. If needed converts it to lower resolution to be played on the play one’s and five’s … .A port / amp should always give you the possibility to play the original quality file.
Sometimes I enter a room without having my phone with me. I’d like to be able to turn on the speaker and have it play my preferred music (in my case a station on BBC Sounds) rather than whatever was last playing Could we have the option to define a default source please?
Hi. hope someone can help cause this is driving me mad.I have a Sony Bravia tv, I have a Sonos beam attached to it via arc. Everything was working as it should until last week. I had to take tv off the wall for decorating to be done. I’ve reconnected everything today and I’m having some serious issues.Initally I was unable to get the beam to see the tv despite the tv recognised the arc was attached.so I reset the tv and beam, the beam then connected until I plugged in something else ie sky with an hdmi cable. Then the sound drops out of the beam despite being connected on the app. Ive replaced both hdmi cables from the sky box and the beam, still no sound from the tv when connected to the beam..I feel like I’m going mad. Particularly when it was working perfectly a few days ago..please help….
Hello. We are building a home and we are finalizing our low voltage pre-wire plans now. We are having Sonos amps and Sonance in-ceiling speakers mounted in a few rooms. I would like to use the Sonance in-ceiling speakers located in the living room as rear surrounds. We plan on purchasing a Sonos ARC and Sonos sub to round out the package. I planned on having all three Amps located in the bistro closet. Do I need to have the living room Amp in the living area or is fine in the closet? Also wondering if the living room Sonance can pull double duty as the rears as well as just streaming music when not watching tv. Thank you in advance for any assistance.
The product is branded “roam” it should be easy to use away from home… right?I was naive enough to think that.I am currently traveling for work and my go-to bluetooth travel speaker kicked the bucket. I took it as an opportunity to pickup the roam, something I had been eyeing for a bit. Getting the thing setup (just so I can use bluetooth) while I’m on hotel wifi is near impossible. It also REFUSES to do bluetooth pairing without wifi setup first. I finally did it, it took an hour and a half. Multiple devices, hotspots, new sonos systems/accounts, etc. Completely unacceptable experience. This is going to be a ton of people’s entry product into the sonos ecosystem. It NEEDS to work with simple bluetooth pairing out of the box. I don’t know why I have to tell you this, get better product management.
I see this question was posted over a year ago, but no one seemed to know the answer (unless I missed it?). So I figured I’d ask again! As an example, if I go into the Tidal Android app or the Tidal desktop app and look up Elvis Costello’s King of America, it is listed exactly one time. But in the Sonos app, it lists three times, and each one looks identical:Clicking on them, there is no difference in track listing. On Tidal, this album is listed as “Master” quality. So one possibility is that Tidal, behind the scenes, has three different steam types available for this same album. Perhaps, that’s why Sonos shows it like it is three different albums? Maybe each one sound a bit different? I’m curious if Sonos or Tidal has addressed why this is happening. (I realize this is probably Tidal’s issue, but since it makes it harder to use Sonos, it would be great if Sonos could pressure Tidal to fix -- or at least tell us what is broken so that Tidal users like myself could approach Tidal to f
Ok, here’s my conundrum.I’m purchasing the Sonance - MAG Series 6.1 Outdoor Streaming Sound System with the Sonos AMP. For my TV, I’m assuming I can straight from the AMP to the TV via HDMI and have sound and video. Correct? But, now for the tricky part, how do I go from the AMP to the projector while using an Apple TV? The projector has HDMI ports. Do I need an HDMI switch or Splitter? Or, is there a cleaner solution out there? Thanks!
Hi team. I have been given a sealed CR200 and was wondering if it is still possible to add it to an existing S1 system? It will be running the original software it was built with (2013). Is it possible to add and update like a normal player or would it need support intervention? Or possibly not work at all….. I would rather keep it sealed as a collectors item if it is not going to be possible to use it in my S1 system.
I’m at a rented villa for a month that has two Sonos speakers. I can play their music but want to play mine and understand that I will need to use airplay. My question should all Sonos speakers be discoverable on a given wifi network? I’ve tried I think all the troubleshooting tips I’ve seen in this forum but have still had no luck. Anyone have any tips/tricks?. Thx.
Using an ipad or Firefox (windows 11) i go to the shop or search for product and click it I see
Is the store website down for anybody else?I’ve tried multiple devices both on wifi and cellularI’m getting the following message when i try to enter the sonos store This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it. The problem nr. 16 since i bought this software mess. How to access my library again?
Hi all, I’m relatively new to the Sonos-world, but quite hooked on sound and convenience already. I’m now wondering how to expand my system in my kitchen. I have an old set of BeoPlay S3s that have served me well, and that actually perform quite ok. They have dual class D-amps (one per speaker unit) and I believe that they play louder than e.g. Symfonisk or Sonos One. I now wonder whether I should re-use the S3s and get a Sonos Port to connect them to my system - or if I should just replace them with Symfonisk or Sonos One? I did a test against Symfonisk (playing via BT on the S3s), and TBH, the sound seemed more spacious and dynamic on the S3s. Now, the Ones would perform better again, I’m sure - and that would be a more fair comparison. So - are there any Port-users in here who have experience with a setup like this? Would sound quality (via phono-to-mini jack) and connectivity be as good as with native Sonos speakers? Thanks in advance, /Bo
