Voice on update is now excellent. It was very bad before and needed subtitles. Now everything is way more balanced with the right volume of surround to voice. PLEASE do not f.... This up by changing it. Leave it. I have a beam with small bass and surrounds s2I've had hi fidelity systems for 40 years and it is now excellent.
For years there has been only problems with my sonos system. I’m so close to chucking it all out the window. The last hour: Playbar works, unable to add livingroom speakers, try ten times, playbar disappears from system, app goes completely blank, livingroom re-appears, unable to pause, playbar reappears in app but without sound, and on and on and on and on ad infinitum et absurdum. Where can I send it all for incineration?!
I have a Sonos ray, Sonos 1 and a Sonos move. When I put on my Sonos Move for music in our conservatory it automatically puts the music through the Sonos ray even though I click the source to be the move. Getting so frustrated. Moderator edit: Changed “roam” to “Move”
I am sitting here on a quiet Sunday running a NAS setup through my head for media storage and Sonos access. I haven't worried about this so far as we've been enjoying streaming but it's time to get my old music library online. Currently everything is on a media computer that was connected to my original surround sound system and TV for ripped dvds. I am looking to transfer my music library to a NAS box that I can simply plug into my orbi router. I've read through the tutorials for setting up various NAS boxes and was interested in talking about current tech. I have setup many NAS systems for network backup in the past but was interested in your input on what available today using a SDD drive in place of a conventional HD. The reasoning for this really boils down to the fact all my network gear is in our bedroom and I would expect the sound levels for a SDD system would be less that the legacy setups. We live in the woods and frankly it is truely refreshing to have dead silence when
Evening all. Have a large Sonos environment started maybe 13 years or so back. It’s been refreshed a time or two and continues to grow. It has in the main, been near flawless in operation. It’s all S2 and most devices not so old.But a problem recent months has prompted some questions which I’m hoping I can get your experience and recommendation on please. We took the view way back that running RJ45 copper to each device was the best way to go. Every device bar an ARC with wireless One’s associated, are hard wired. But I’m now wondering what is the optimum networking configuration for 2025? Discussion today with Sonos support caused me to think that wireless seems be the preference. Or a combination of some wired and some wireless. There was less enthusiasm for wired only. Why do I say this? We I swapped two very old and long in the tooth Netgear 48 port PoE switches out in favour of two brand new high spec managed Netgear switches. The PoE side of things had been failing for some time a
I have:sono ampsonos Sub gen 3sonos arc ultrasonos architecture ceiling speakers sonos architecture wall speakers before I got the arc. The sound was in incredible. Blew my mind. But once I added the arc ultra, I found the sound would no longer play from the architecture speakers as they are now considered height speakers / surround speakers and I am making a leap here that if the sound is not destined for those speakers it. It no longer is sent unless it was supposed to. Like when listening in Dolby it does go to them. Most noticed when listening to music some tracks sound night and day different. Almost terrible. OR if I listen to music on Sonos app. Sounds great. BUT if I listen to music from the tv ( you tube, Apple Music ) it sounds terrible again. I would prefer to be able to play sound to the architecture speakers like before and just add the arc ultra as additional speakers. could I use my other amp that I use seasonally Denny outside speakers and use it solely for my arc
I was wondering if the auxiliary jack cable for the Sonos Ace is compatible with the Era 100, since there is a USB-C to jack adapter but I would also need to add a jack-to-jack cable to connect to my video projector. Thanks in advance for your help
Hello,I have Sonos ERA100, ERA300, Arc Ultra, Sub Gen 4 and Beam GEN 2. I bought all of them in Singapore. Since we are moving to The United States, I have a concern. Singapore: 240VAC 50HzThe United States: 120VAC 60Hz. Can I use all of my Sonos products in US only with plug adapter?
For context, my “System” consists of:Family Room ‘Amp’ - powers two non-Sonos in-ceiling speakersFamily Room 2 ‘Arc Ultra’ Master Bedroom ‘Amp’ - powers two non-Sonos in-ceiling speakers I would like to “bond” my Family Room ‘Amp’ with Family Room 2 ‘Arc Ultra’ and use the in-ceiling speakers as rear surrounds. When I go to bond it, there is a message that shows up saying:“To use these Sonos Amp as surrounds, connect your Arc Ultra to the router with an Ethernet cable.” I click through this message once, then again, Arc Ultra makes a sound as if it were a success and now Family Room 2 has the Amp and Arc Ultra listed under products. When I go to try audio with surround sound, no audio coming from speakers powered by Amp. They are currently setup as stereo. What am I missing? Do I need to factory reset and create the Family Room from scratch and change speakers to surrounds?Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank You
Just recently I’ve had the opportunity to directly compare Apple Music, Qobuz and Amazon Music Unlimited on my Sonos speakers (Beam 2, Move 2 and Roam).I listen to a lot of music and am really frustrated by the poor audio quality on a lot of albums which have been mastered to compete in “the loudness war”.This affects a lot of recent albums and re-masters of older albums. The dynamic range of a multitude of albums can be viewed by Googling: Loudness War Database. There are usually several different versions of many albums in this database: original issues, re-masters, Spatial Audio, vinyl, blu-ray audio etc. The dynamic range of each version can vary considerably. High dynamic range is generally thought to give a more natural sound and a more satisfying listening experience.Yesterday I compared listening to various versions of the track “Thriller” by Michael Jackson. All the Apple Music versions were very loud, including the Atmos (Spatial Audio) version. I also thought they sounded quit
Hello I have got a sonos arc,sub and 300 speakers,my son in law did something with my Spotify app so the rear speakers played music but since then when people are speaking I can't hear there voices very well,I have enhanced speech on,any ideas on what I can do please on the sonos app?Thank you.
I think most of us know what a dismal failure the S2 app has become. Laggy, buggy and in most instances just does not work most of the time. That said, it would be great to see a detailed roadmap of what is being planned to get this back on track. It has been over a year of this poor performance. Is there any light in sight? Does anyone have a S2 app roadmap to share?
Hi,I am updating a 475 sq ft covered patio where I have a barbecue area with a high table, a dining area, and a living area. Next to the high table I'm placing a TV. The ceiling is 9 feet high. There are walls on the left and top side, while the right and bottom sides are open. What Sonos setup do you recommend? I was considering a soundbar for the TV, complemented by two Era 100/300 speakers hanging from the ceiling in the two lower corners (blur crosses). There is little to no rain here, and very low humidity. Thanks!
I cannot seem to find a way to add songs to playlist in the new app. when I click on the ••• next to a song while another is playing, the only option now appears to be Replace Queue, and no ability to insert the song. what am I missing?
Previously used Connect to connect TV using 3.5mm audio out on TV to RCA input to connect, worked wonderfully! Connect was many years old and bit the bullet finally! Using the proper adapters, has anyone used the Era 1 to connect their TV? Does it then play throughout the entire SONOS system? Or only on that speaker that is connected? Needing new device to connect TV, and dont really need a soundbar for the one im connecting to! Any suggestions from member currently doing this?
Hi all,I recently purchased the Sonos Arc Ultra for my living room and I love it. I would like some advice on expanding my system. :)I have a small, 900 sq ft house. I was thinking about adding:Living Room - 2 x Era 100 + Sub 4Office - Era 100 Bedroom - Era 100Deck - Move 2The office faces the dining room and the bedroom is off the kitchen. If I group all of these will it be good for whole house sound? Should I go with the Era 300s instead of 100s? I don't want to overbuy with a small space, but I love my music too!Thank you for any assistance/feedback!-Rebecca
Hello,I am currently running v11.15 of the Controller for PC and all is working well.Sonos wants to update to 90.0-67171. Has anyone still on S1 applied this update? Any benefit or detriment to updating? Thanks!
Relisten was finally working late last week. It went down again last night. It was a wonderful 4 day run, but its back to can't connect to Relisten or can't play 'song name'. And it skips through 4 or 5 songs before the error messages appear. I tried to speak with the help desk, but after 15 minutes and nothing from the representative, other than telling me his name, I aborted. I just want Relisten to work correctly. I assume that Sonos is aware and working on a fix
I don’t see a way to remove it. Just edit.
Hello again. I'm listening to music from my local library for the first time in a little while and the album art is not displayed. It's the same on android and ios.
Hi everyone,I'd like to suggest a feature for Sonos's portable speakers, specifically the Move and Move 2: the ability to turn them on remotely via Bluetooth.Similar to how the Bose SoundLink Micro works, this feature (Bluetooth Low Energy) would let us wake up a Sonos portable speaker from a powered-off state just by connecting to it with a Bluetooth-enabled device. This would be incredibly convenient, as it would eliminate the need to physically go to the speaker to turn it on—a quick Bluetooth connection would do the trick as long as you're in range. This feature could also be a great help when a speaker goes missing inside a bag or elsewhere in the home, as you could locate it by connecting to it and playing audio.I hope this is something that can be added through a future firmware update, assuming the hardware/software of the Move and Move 2 supports it.What are your thoughts on this idea?
I can’t get my Play 5 to sync with my Ray (connected through optical) when connected to the tv without getting up and pressing the play button on the Play 5. When I try to add the Play 5, then press apply, all sound stops.
For some reason, my Sonos One lost its connection to my home WiFi network, and it appeared the only way to get it back on was to follow the device reset steps. Once I was again able to connect to it with the controller app, none of my previous settings were there in terms of favorites, music services, playlists, etc. My question is, where are these settings kept? As part of my Sonos account (if so, would have expected them to be remembered) or on the device itself?
I have no true play showing on my app , any fix guys ?
Hello, I want to run my computer audio through my Rodecaster Pro II, as I currently do utilizing my Adam A3X powered speakers. But now, I want to use the Sonos era 100 speakers to replace those. Is there a way to connect the era 100’s to the Rodecaster Pro II and use them as my computer speakers (not utilizing the Bluetooth feature of the speakers)?
